    Site Store Officer

    The Site Store Officer is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory control of all materials, tools, and equipment on construction sites. This role ensures proper documentation of stock movements, maintains optimal storage conditions, prevents wastage and theft, and supports project efficiency through timely and accurate material management.

    Job Details

    • Manage inventory receipts, issuance, levels, documentation and reporting
    • Organize and maintain the site store in a clean, orderly, and accessible manner
    • Implement proper storage methods to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss
    • Prepare and submit regular inventory reports to the Project Manager
    • Ensure the security of the site store and prevent unauthorized access or theft
    • Support cost control efforts through efficient material management
    • Coordinate with site supervisors and workers on material needs and availability

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field
    • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in store management, inventory control, or materials management
    • Experience in construction site stores or similar industrial environments (preferred)
    • Practical experience with inventory management systems and documentation
    • Understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
    • Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
    • Clear and effective oral and written communication
    • Ability to prepare accurate, concise reports
    • Effective liaison with suppliers, site workers, and management

    Site Assistant

    The Site Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the Project Manager by monitoring workmanship, material usage, and ensuring basic safety compliance on construction sites. This role focuses on observing, documenting, and reporting site activities to ensure work aligns with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.

    Job Details

    • Observe ongoing work and compare against approved drawings and specifications
    • Identify and report defects or deviations to the Project Manager
    • Check basic alignment, levels, and finishes to ensure quality standards
    • Record all material deliveries, including quantities and specifications
    • Monitor storage conditions to prevent damage or deterioration
    • Flag material wastage or unusual usage patterns to the Project Manager
    • Report unsafe practices, hazards, or non-compliance to the Project Manager
    • Support basic site safety protocols and emergency procedures
    • Maintain accurate daily site diary documenting activities, progress, and issues

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC experience in construction site supervision, quality control, or similar role
    • Practical experience working on building or infrastructure projects
    • Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and standards
    • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, quality control procedures and best practices
    • Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles on construction sites
    • Keen eye for identifying defects, deviations, and non-conformances
    • Thoroughness in documentation and record-keeping
    • Clear and effective oral and written communication 
    • Ability to provide concise, accurate daily reports 
    • Effective liaison with site workers, contractors, and the Project Manager
    • Proactive problem-solving mindset 
    • Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) (advantageous)
    • Training or certification in HSE, First Aid, or construction safety (advantageous)
