    Forklift Operator

    Responsibilities

    • Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items.
    • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.
    • Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
    • Securing loads to the machine before transportation.
    • Inspecting for damages to vehicles.
    • Scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs.
    • Operating and managing technical equipment.
    • Managing inventory by utilizing RF scanning equipment.
    • Picking and wrapping orders for shipment.
    • Identifying workplace safety hazards.
    • Adhering to safety management standards.
    • Adhering to production schedules.

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or GED.
    • Valid fork-lifting certificate.

    Senior Accountant

    Description

    • We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. 
    • The Candel FZE with headquarters in the Lekki Free Zone, Akodo, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, is a leading international agricultural inputs manufacturing and distribution enterprise with deep Nigerian roots

    About the Role

    • As a Senior Accountant, reporting to the General Manager (Finance and Accounts), you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the company's financial records and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations.
    • Preparing and analyzing financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) in our countries of operation.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and local standards in our countries of operation.
    • Managing the general ledger and ensuring its accuracy.
    • Preparing and filing tax returns and ensuring tax compliance in our countries of operation.
    •  Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
    • Conducting internal audits and ensuring adherence to internal controls in our countries of operation.
    • Reconciling bank accounts and other financial recordsin our countries of operation.
    • Preparing and analyzing group budgets and forecasts.
    • Providing financial analysis and reporting to management.
    • Liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities in our countries of operation.
    • Developing, mentoring and supervising junior accounting staff.
    • Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.
    • Performing other accounting duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance will be an advantage.
    • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is mandatory.
    • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting training and experience, preferably from any of the global big four accounting firms, a Free Zone environment or a similar industry.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (including IFRS).
    • Proven experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
    • Excellent understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements in Nigeria and /or Ghana.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks).
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite applications.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
