    Key Responsibilities:

     

    Partnership and network building

     

    • Encourage a commitment to accommodating clients' special needs such as flexibility of working hours.
    • Maintain strict privacy and confidentiality to generate demand for MSN services.
    • Have a public relations and promotional role with colleagues, NHS and the general public
    • Timely collate and submit Laboratory reports to the centre team.
    • Monitor monthly client numbers and income generated and in collaboration with the centre teams make appropriate recommendations to meet income to cost targets.

     

    Laboratory Scientist roles

     

    • Welcoming, friendly, professional and efficient atmosphere for all clients and visitor in the laboratory to ensure client satisfaction at all times.
    • Maintaining laboratory equipment (including calibration) in a proper working condition and prompt report of any malfunction to the center coordinator. 
    • Keep record of stock, perform forecasts and ensure reagents and other laboratory consumable do not fall below minimum level 
    • Perform regular Quality control on laboratory reagents after supply and before use 
    • Ensure specimen are obtained in the appropriate manner
    • Provide timely and accurate result
    • Ensure cervical smear specimens are stored and packaged correctly for transportation to the approved cytology/pathology laboratory
    • Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and the result of such tests
    • Keep abreast with and ensure that MSN complies with latest developments in laboratory testing protocol in Nigeria
    • Assist to provide counselling on core MSN Clinical services in the Laboratory.
    • Carry out any other lawful duties assigned by the Centre Coordinator.
    • Make proper use of available information systems in MSI to facilitate service delivery & trainings

     

    Communication and Administration

     

    • Ensure formal communications with the various health partners are properly documented
    • Follow up on all clients’ complaints relating to any of the MSN services and make recommendations.
    • Able to sign off on a lab results and take responsibility when there is an error in diagnosis
    • Liaise appropriately with the Council of Medical Laboratory Sciences of Nigeria and other relevant regulatory bodies during routine or periodic visits and assessments for QC standards

    Job Summary

    This position exists to provide support at MSION regional offices on procurement, inventory management, fleet management Asset management, Administrative and HR Functions. The RAO will be a liaison officer between relevant units at the support office and the regional office.

    Key Responsibilities

    This position exists to provide support at the regional offices on Procurement, Inventory management, Fleet and Assets Management, other Administrative functions, Corporate Services and HR Management. The RAO will be responsible for bi-weekly stock report on tally, fleet report, vehicle maintenance monthly report and in charge of procurement processes (from request to quote to issuance of PO).

    The RAO will work in collaboration with the Regional Manager, Inventory and Asset Management Coordinator, Fleet Coordinator and the Senior Procurement Officer to coordinate activities of the PILAM unit in the Regions; and with the HR Manager and the Corporate Services Coordinator on their respective units’ functions.

    A. Coordination of Procurement Processes 

    • Maintain Pre-Qualified Vendors List
    • Treat all Procurement Request Form (PRF) in his/her region by sending out request for quote to vendors on the Vendors list, evaluate quotations, organise Procurement Committee (PC) meeting when required and manage issuance of POs
    • Procurement above the region’s threshold will be forwarded to the Support office
    • Send weekly Procurement Report

    B. Fleet Management

    • Manage the usage of the daily vehicle Checklist
    • Manage the usage of the fuel voucher & Total cards
    • Send monthly, the fuel receipts and maintenance invoices
    • Maintain vehicles’ files at the regional office

    C. Inventory and Stock Management

    • Maintaining accurate records of stock movement in and out of the warehouse daily.
    • Posting & documentation of all goods receipt and stock consumption as it happens on a daily basis
    • Ensuring synchronization of all inventory postings at the Regional office with Support Office’s Central Store database on a weekly basis and as at when due.
    • Carrying out weekly cycle count to determine Critical Stock consumption rates and interpreting same into the following reports:
      • Critical Stock Report
      • CPFR (Collaborative Planning, Forecast & Replenishment) Report
    • Prompt treatment of all material requisitions and issuing of stock items to User departments, Outreach teams and Field officers daily.
    • Maintaining GWP (Good Warehouse Practice) and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards through:
      • tidy shelving, racking system/ store arrangement,
      • FEFO (First Expired First Out),
      • FIFO (First In First Out),
      • Stock Codification/ labelling 
      • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all time
    • Give monthly report on expired drugs and medical consumables.

    D. Asset Management

    • Manage the assets’ register
    • Maintain records of assets’ movement and acquisition 

    E. Human Resource Management Support

    • Support the HR Management Team as a liaison Officer between regional offices and the Support Office
    • Manage distribution of work-tools to team members at Regional offices
    • Collate Timesheet and other relevant HR documentation for transmission to the Support Office

    F. Corporate Services & Other Administrative Functions

    • Support the Corporate Services Unit (CSU) Team as a liaison Officer between regional offices and the Support Office
    • Support Training and other Corporate activities at Regional and state offices with guidance from the Support Office CSU team

    Research, Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant

    Responsibilities:

     

    A. Support the Implementation of MSION Management Information System:

     

    • Support the collation of monthly service statistics for all service delivery points 
    • Conduct monthly validation of service data  for all reporting facilities in the database against the source document at the state level 
    • Conduct quarterly RME technical supportive visits to facilities to mentor facility record officers on use of routine data collection tools and to verify data submitted to the state offices.

     

    B. Participate in Research Activities:

     

    Assist in conducting research activities including the preparation and implementation of annual evaluations and special studies (e.g. baseline, impact evaluation, mid-term reviews). These may include to:

     

    • Assist with drafting data collection tools 
      • Data collection, collation, and entry 
      • Training and supervision of data collection process 
      • Monitoring pilot studies, surveys, 
      • Data collation, entry, basic analysis, reporting and dissemination
      • Collate regional factsheet data
      • Collate regional success stories
    • Work with RME team to develop reports, collate, and disseminate success stories and lessons learnt in Open-door, to internally and externally when appropriate
    • Plan on-going day-to-day research activity within the framework of agreed monthly deliverables.

     

    C. Support monitoring and evaluation activities:

     

    • Ensure RME Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines are used at the state offices and facilities and inputs for updated when necessary are submitted to the support office
    • Track and report project specific indicators monthly and reporting same to inform programmes, ensuring targets are met, flagging and explaining indicators that are off track
    • Prepare monthly regional factsheets for specific project indicators 
    • Work with RME Team to prepare quarterly/annually reports on required key indicators.
    • Identify bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks. 
    • In collaboration with RME team identify and document achievements and accomplishments of project indicators against set performance targets.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of B.Sc. degree in the Social Sciences, Epidemiology, Evaluation, Development or in a field related field
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience conducting/participating in research, monitoring and evaluation of reproductive health programmes in Nigeria.
    • Minimum of 2 years conducting data quality assessments.

    • Experience of conducting primary qualitative and quantitative research 
    • Experience with management of different sources of data and multiple indicators with proven ability to interpret verbal, written and numerical data

    • Must be familiar with working in rural areas with focus on participatory processes.
