    Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, ESGBV

    The Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support the development and implementation of the ESGBV programme results management framework. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with the project team, country and regional monitoring and evaluation team.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Supports the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, processes, and practices for the ESGBV programme that responds to both donor and International IDEA needs;
    • Coordinates activity and outcome reporting of all programme evaluations and the monitoring of results;
    • Supports ESGBV programme planning and the compilation of partner inputs; Assists effective collaboration between the programme partners;
    • Supports effective collaboration between the ESGBV Component Specialists and the wider M&E team; Coordinates monthly and quarterly reflection sessions amongst the State teams;
    • Supports the internal and external communication of ESGBV programme results (in conjunction with the Communications team);
    • Supports the development and production of all reporting under the programme, including quarterly, yearly, and final reports;
    • Participates in the continuous development of policies, guidelines, standards and tools for planning, monitoring, evaluation, and results-based management in collaboration with other projects implemented by International IDEA in Nigeria, regional office, HQ, and the donor;
    • Supports capacity building and training for national partners on monitoring and evaluation related processes; Contributes to ongoing internal and external training;
    • Supports risk management in line with the organisational risk management policies and procedures; Contributes to the review and update of the risk register;
    • Supports project team and partners to identify opportunities for case studies/outcome stories, develop them and quality assures the case studies/stories;
    • Coordinates activity and outcome reporting of all project evaluations and the monitoring of results;
    • Carries out other duties and responsibilities as related to the post that may be assigned from time to time.

    Education And Experience

    • University degree (or equivalent) in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Political Science, Law, Human Rights, International Development, Sustainable Development, or related fields;
    • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, supporting monitoring and evaluation activities of international development projects, preferably with a focus on SGBV, rule of law/access to justice and support to democratic institutions and civil society organisations;
    • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and operating project monitoring and evaluation systems from project initiation to closeout stages is essential;
    • Experience with EU funded projects and requirements, as well as familiarity with their processes and systems is essential;
    • Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (e.g., qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies is essential;
    • Experience in planning and managing surveys on the behavioural impact of programmes implemented is considered an advantage;
    • Experience in the field of gender and human rights of women and marginalized groups is considered an advantage;
    • Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to SGBV will be an advantage;
    • Experience of working in an international context, e.g., in an intergovernmental organization, considered an advantage.

    Communications Assistant, Social Media, ESGBV

    The Communications Assistant, Social Media supports the production of content for the SGBV Programme. These tasks require interfacing with teams, gathering information, prioritize content, and stay ahead of news and events. The Communications Assistant provides assistance in writing, editing and targeting dissemination for the promotion of the organization’s key issues, events and resources. Primary areas of focus are media, outreach, website and social media, as identified in International IDEA’s communications strategy. The Communications Assistant provides other related support in accordance with the Programme’s needs and requirements.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Assists the Communication Officer in the implementation of the SGBV programme’s communication and visibility plan, including in the development and execution of the SGBV’s programme social media strategy;
    • Provides communications and media support to the programme’s events; create, curate and schedule engaging high-quality content on social media platforms;
    • Monitor, track and analyze social media channels;
    • Assists the Communications Officer,in responding to media/press inquiries and pitching of Op-Eds and stories for media placement as required;
    • Supports the regular update of the organization’s press lists;
    • Assists in the preparation and editing of web articles, social media posts, press releases, newspaper stories, audio, video, online and other outreach content in English, as required;
    • Assists in maintaining the social media handles of the programme;
    • Regularly attends programme team meetings to stay well-informed about planned activities, upcoming events and campaigns; Assists with the identification of key counterparts across programme teams to facilitate information sharing;
    • Assists with the coordination of the timely content development production and dissemination of periodical newsletters and other products (such as impact reports, case stories, how-to-guides, etc) with programme colleagues and manages an editorial calendar for the proposed content and themes;
    • Supports the monitoring and reporting on impact and analytics. Assists in drafting monthly and quarterly analytics reports for all social media platforms and for the newsletters;
    • Assists Communication officer to organize and coordinate media and visibility events and actions for the programme;
    • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and emerging digital trends;
    • Carries out other duties and responsibilities as related to the post that may be assigned from time to time.

    Communications Officer, ESGBV

    The Communications Officer will manage the development and implementation of the ESGBV programme’s communication and visibility plan. They will optimize awareness of the programmes work and oversee the production of regional communication tools aligned with target groups, raising awareness of both public and technical audiences. The incumbent will also act as the media focal point for the programme and will lead in developing and implementing social media campaigns.

    Duties And Responsibilities

    • Provides communications and media support to all partners within the programme; Regularly holds communications meetings with the focal points of all partners to stay well-informed about planned activities, upcoming events and campaigns; Coordinates the inputs from programme partners;
    • Uploads content generated by the programme to the relevant communication forum as needed;
    • Responds to media/press inquiries and pitches Op-Eds and stories to media for placement;
    • Maintains the programme database, soliciting and including regular updates; Contributes to and regularly updates the programme’s press lists;
    • Undertakes regular media monitoring (on social and traditional media) for references to programme activities;
    • Establishes, maintains and actively manages relationships with the media to raise the profile and credibility of the programme;
    • Organizes and coordinates media and visibility events for the programme;
    • Serves as a content editor; Writes and edits web articles, tweets, social media posts, press releases and other outreach content as necessary; Quality assures audio, video and graphic materials;
    • Coordinates the timely content development of programme newsletters and manages an editorial calendar for the proposed content and themes;
    • Creates clear infographics and digital assets for use online and in presentations;
    • Implements the European Union’s communications and social media strategy for all social media channels; Reviews and updates the programme’s social media guidelines as needed.
    • Monitors and reports on impact and analytics; Generates monthly and quarterly analytics reports for all social media platforms and for the newsletter;
    • Supports the development and dissemination of knowledge management products and materials such as impact reports, case stories, how-to-guides, etc.;
    • Raises staff and partners awareness on the programme’s communication and visibility plan and provides guidance for implementation and compliance;
    • Manages and directs the work of the Communications Assistant, Social Media, to deliver efficiently on all agreed communications outputs, within agreed timeframes, and in accordance with approved procedures and processes; Establishes and nurtures a working environment that is conducive to delivering results, fostering a spirit of collaboration, strong work ethic and cohesion;

    • Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in a similar role, or, as a journalist or writer in communications for development, with a focus on social media and preferably in an international context; Experience in communications strategy development and implementation;
    • Experience leading and managing teams;
    • Experience creating and maintaining social media campaigns preferably as it relates to ending Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (ESGBV) in Nigeria or similar context ;
    • Expert graphic design skills and ability to use all related Adobe tools;
    • Experience of working in an international context, e.g., in an intergovernmental organization, considered an advantage.
