    Communication Officer II

    The Purpose

    • Under the supervision of the Communication Coordinator, the Communication Officer supports decision-making by proactively identifying, monitoring and analysing information from a variety of public sources in line with the delegation's priorities.
    • S/He contextualizes and links the selected information with the political, economic and security environment and performs systematic monitoring of the reputation of the ICRC and National Red Cross or Red Crescent Society in local languages and local media.
    • S/he contributes to designing, planning and implementing communication projects and activities in coordination with the Communication Manager.
    • The officer also contributes to representing the ICRC externally and building the necessary understanding and acceptance of and support for the ICRC among key stakeholders.

    Your Role

    • Monitor the online news agencies (local and international media) and identify the relevant articles and information for the delegation in a daily media monitoring template and share them with all staff and other stakeholders by email or through GinkGo platform on daily basis.
    • Monitor social media (Facebook, X/Twitter, blogs and other social media platforms) to identify trends and relevant information and share it via daily media monitoring.
    • Regularly updates the media and social media influencers mapping of the delegation, and follows the trending topics among them
    • Prepare thematic reports and thematic analysis of current political, social and humanitarian affairs, as required.
    • Prepare bi-weekly Social Media reports and the biannual ICRC’s media visibility report.
    • Support other colleagues of the Communication department and the delegation in the design of internal and / or external surveys
    • Carry out and/or closely follow the results of external surveys in order to assess the ICRC’s reputation in the public sphere.
    • In close coordination with other departments (Protection, Networking, Health, etc) organise round tables with key researchers, writers, academics, among other key interlocutors in support to the delegation’s analysis of trends and the context.
    • With the Communication Coordinator contribute to defining communication and, where relevant, prevention objectives, strategies and plans of action for the geographic area or programme covered, in line with the field sub-structure's priorities and/or the delegation’s communication/prevention strategy.
    • With the communication coordinator implement relevant activities and develop tools for: operational communication, community engagement, promoting International Humanitarian Law (IHL), building National Red Cross/Red Crescent Society communication capacity, public and digital communication.
    • Support communication-related training and coaching for field-structure staff and/or other departments when needed.
    • Contribute, in coordination with the Communication team in Abuja and COM field officers at field level, to effective internal communication (eg. regular presentations, meetings, events, video projections, etc.) and produce/edit internal articles to highlight key activities

    Your Profile
    Education and Experience:

    • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as communications, political science, international relations, sociology, journalism
    • Minimum 4-6 years’ work experience in a field relevant to communication and/or prevention
    • Fluent spoken and written English. Knowledge of local languages (Hausa, Kanuri) an asset.
    • Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
    • Sound knowledge of the political, social and media environment in Nigeria.
    • Computer skills (proficiency in MS Office); familiarity with digital communication tools.
    • Experience in an ICRC operation and IHL knowledge an asset.
    • You must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria

    Digital Officer and Audiovisual Producer

    Job Summary

    • Under the supervision of the Communication Coordinator, the Digital Officer/AV producer supports the ICRC's public communication by developing and creating engaging content for a variety of platforms.
    • This role involves leading in all stages of content production, including ideation, production, editing, validating and distributing audiovisual news material for broadcasters and digital content (web videos, photography, etc.) with the aim of supporting ICRC operations, influencing relevant decision makers and mobilizing support for the organisation.

    Responsibilities

    • Create, produce, and optimize highly shareable visual content (such as infographics, illustration or typography) designed to engage different target audiences on Nigeria’s context and thematic across local social media channels.
    • Lead on social designs, developing and iterating templates and content formats to build our ICRC brand online and consistency.
    • Provide training & capacity building to communication staff, namely communication field officers on audio-visual techniques and ensure that audio-visual information-management procedures are defined and respected.
    • Schedule and manage our social channels via relevant tools for publishing / scheduling, in line with delegation priorities.
    • Engage in digital campaign management on both organic and paid visibility for search and social channels, particularly on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM), to promote a content.
    • Ensure a diverse, participatory, and inclusive approach to how we talk about and represent affected people in social media, and all communications adhere to our ethical communications guidelines.
    • Ensure our social media channels and content production further ICRC ‘s Communication Strategy, on brand, with the aligned tone and voice.
    • Plan, script, film/photograph and edit audiovisual content (from the concept stage to the final product, including commissioning content, carrying out film missions and scriptwriting), including videos, photos, graphics, podcasts, and animations for events, conferences, targeted outreach, global social media, websites, and other digital platforms, television and digital news broadcasters
    • Shoot / edit social video content (both with new content and with existing material). Lead on relevant production and versioning on content – formatting for social media channels, adding VOs, and ensuring line with ICRC accessibility standards.
    • Ensure proper planning, sharing, storage and final archiving of audio-visual materials, in coordination with the relevant headquarters units and field offices
    • Keep abreast digital trends, platform updates and changes in the social media landscape, and make recommendations on how we ensure we’re continuously evolving our approach while remaining on-trend.
    • Possess capacity for website management/ publication such as Drupal and other content management systems

    Requirements

    • University Degree in Communications, Audiovisual Production, Journalism, Digital Marketing or related field.
    • 4-8 years of experience in social media management or content production with expertise in video production, graphic design, and content creation.
    • Good knowledge of online design, content editing, social media monitoring and management tools (Asana, Canva, Sprinklr)
    • Experience in designing and running creative social media campaigns.
    • Have excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
    • Confirmed computer user (Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

    Vehicle Fleet Manager II

    The Purpose

    • Under the supervision of the Logistics Country Manager, Vehicle Fleet Manager 2 oversees management of the fleet of ICRC vehicles in their country of assignment so that operational needs are met, working in strict compliance with the standards set at headquarters.
    • S/he carries out effective and efficient resource planning and scheduling for ICRC and non-ICRC-owned vehicles within the operational area.

    Your Role

    • Determine needs in terms of the fleet and maximizes its efficiency and effectiveness through planned resource allocation in accordance with guidelines from headquarters.
    • Monitors, organizes and maximizes the efficiency of the vehicle pool to support the delegation's operations.
    • Ensure generator setups within Nigeria are properly installed and tailored to meet power load requirements.
    • Ensure that ICRC Fleet procedures (SOP’s) and systems are in place, operational and implemented in an agile, well-organized way.
    • Provide technical input in the decision-making process regarding private transport services under contract or ad-doc daily contract, especially freight transport and car/bus rental.
    • Ensure that administrative paperwork related to vehicles and drivers is handled in a professional manner and is in line with guidelines from headquarters (includes vehicle and driver data files, registration and documentation related to import/export/transfer of vehicles, and convoy documentation).
    • In collaboration with the Logistician/Premise, ensures that all sites are secure in terms of fire danger, collateral damage from weapons and illegal access.
    • Ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with ICRC and national rules in terms of third-party, casco insurance and road worthy at any time.
    • Manage and carries out controls on fuel supplies, for which s/he has final accountability; carries out contingency planning.
    • Establish the spare parts and workshop tools inventory bi-annually and carries out controls in accordance with ICRC guidelines.
    • Oversee fuel purchase reconciliation (Fleetwave vs Finance) to ensure accuracy in fuel inventory and financial reporting, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective measures as needed.
    • Supervise the administration of vehicle tracking platform and hardware installation to ensure accurate data collection, enhance fleet efficiency and support real-time decision-making
    • Prepare the fleet budget by coordinating with various departments to gather relevant information & needs and accurately estimate costs for vehicles, generators, fuel, spare parts, tools and vehicle rentals.
    • Monitor and follows up on budget forecasts for fleet-related expenses, ensuring adherence to financial targets and optimizing resource allocation.

    Your Profile
    Education and Experience:

    • University Degree in Automotive technology, Transport, or related field.
    • 6 years' experience working in transport or an automotive workshop.
    • Very good knowledge of the political situation and social and cultural norms of the area of assignment.
    • Two years' management experience.
    • Previous exposure to other cultural and religious contexts an asset.
    • Accredited management training an asset.
    • Excellent command (written and spoken) of English.
    • Very good skills with computers and workshop finances.
    • Driving license B manual gearbox required and C an asset.
    • You must have a valid working permit to work in Nigeria
