    Production Patroller

    Location: Obajana Plant, Obajana Plant, Nigeria

    Job Summary

    Responsible for continuous inspection of the assigned section at production processes towards ensuring that all equipment function effectively.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement assigned field activities and provide feedback to the CCR team.
    • Ensure all processing equipment are cleaned regularly.
    • Liaise with CCR operators and Shift Managers for smooth and uninterrupted operations, so as to reduce down time or breakdown.
    • Conduct inspection of equipment in assigned production section and document problems for immediate attention.
    • Report critical problems to CCR Operators, and/ or Shift Coordinators for immediate and prompt action.
    • Organize and participate fully in all cleaning activities in assigned sections.
    • Ensure timely execution of housekeeping activities within assigned section.
    • Liaise with the Shift Coordinator and Section Heads to ensure production targets are achieved.

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • SSCE/Trade Test or its equivalent in any discipline.
    • Three (3) years relevant work experience.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Basic knowledge of the cement production process
    • Basic knowledge of production equipment and functions.
    • Good understanding of basic material process flow line
    • Ability to pay attention to details
    • Good communication skills

    Operational Risk Management Analyst

    General Activities:

    • Work closely with the Group Head, Operational Risk Management in ensuring that losses arising from failed or inadequate internal processes, systems, people and external events fall within the Group's risk appetite, and is in alignment with the organization’s corporate strategy
    • Assisting the Principal Risk Owners and Principal Risk Coordinators with the identification of key risks and mitigating controls in their business units, as well as action plans to address any gaps in the mitigating measures identified.
    • Assists with ensuring the proper implementation of the Group’s operational risk management framework, policies and procedures in all BUs

    Deployment of OpRisk Tools & Methodologies:

    • Ensure prompt completion and rendition of periodic Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), and monthly Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) 
    • Assist departments with the identification of key risk(s) on an ongoing basis 
    • Ensure timely operational risk events are reported using the Group’s Loss Incident Reporting tool and ensure prompt collation of risk events reported to Head Office
    • Perform root cause analyses on identified risk events and recommend controls to be implemented to prevent these risk events from re-occurring in future or to minimize the impact of the risk should the event be a critical business process
    • Develop presentations of risk analysis results to methodically communicate insights.

    OpRisk Monitoring:

    • Monitor the implementation of actions plans to address key risks identified from RCSAs, KRIs and reported loss incidents
    • Monitor the Business Unit's risk exposure closely to ensure operational efficiency, expected sales and proper redress of limiting factors
    • Conducting on-site assessments of Pan-African plants to analyze the risks posed and proffer recommendations to ensure achievements of BU’s strategic objectives.
    • Report all threats to Business Continuity and ensure that contingency plans are developed to address key business continuity risks identified
    • Monitor and ensure timely close-out of recommended controls for mitigating identified risks

    Other OpRisk Support Function:

    • Attend Management Committee meetings and present or discuss key risks identified that require immediate redress or awareness of Senior Management when assigned.
    • Strategic Risk monitoring on issues such as risks emanating from corporate governance issues, strategy formulation and implementation, Pricing pressure and competition issues, Mergers and Acquisitions, Sales & Marketing issues and likely exposures from Systemic risks from macro-economic trends that might impact business.
    • Reputational Risk monitoring of business activities that may result in brand erosion or depletion of brand equity
    • Develop awareness of Operational Risk Management Best Practice through publications on Risk Management related learning material
    • Monitor other prevalent or emerging business risk exposures

    Reporting

    • Assist with preparing periodic reports to EXCO and the Board and such other reports that may be required from time to time. Reports must meet expected standard in terms of quality and integrity.
    • Ensures weekly BU Loss Incident Reports are rendered to the Group Operational Risk Team

    Job Objective

    • To assist the Group Head of Operational Risk Management with embedding a best-in-class operational risk management culture within DIL.
    • Involved in the proper implementation of the Group’s operational risk management framework comprising its policies, procedures and tools, in line with best practice.
    • Assists with advising senior management on the identification, measurement and proper treatment of operational risks.
    • Assists with training and motivating all staff in the use of operational risk management techniques, and liaises with key stakeholders where necessary, thereby ensuring all likely and emerging operational risk exposures are adequately mitigated and monitored in accordance with the Group’s Risk Policies.

    Qualification and Experience Required

    • HND/bachelor’s degree in a Business-related Course, Economics, Accounting or Engineering; Masters’ degree in a relevant field of study (Certified Risk Professional or Master Risk Management would be an advantage)
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk management, preferably within the manufacturing or financial services sectors
    • Good interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
