    Assistant Technical Officer, Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)

    Job Task

    • The desired candidates will work with the state M&E team to support the implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems for the State.
    • S/He will be responsible for collating data at the LGA level and ensuring quality data reporting for the State program.
    • S/He will conduct timely review and analysis of state-level data and provide monthly feedback to the state Technical teams and other levels.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Must possess a First Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Behavioural / Social Sciences, Public Health, Demography, Biostatistics, Statistics, or a relevant field.
    • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of HIV prevention, care, and treatment services.
    • Must possess the ability to analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data to inform programming.
    • Must have intermediate knowledge of SPSS or STATA or knowledge of DHIS, MS-Access or other compatible database software will be of added advantage.
    • Must have experience conducting monitoring visits, utilizing checklists and other tools, including the ability to develop M&E tools as needed.
    • Familiarity with the socio-cultural contexts of Ogun state will be an advantage.

    Senior Technical Associate - Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)(Abuja)

    Job Description

    • The desired candidates will work with the Headquarter M&E team to support the implementation of robust monitoring and evaluation systems in the various states. S/He will be responsible for collating the program data at the State level and ensuring quality data reports for the program in the state.

    Other Specific Tasks

    • Develop and track progress of M&E work plan
    • Provide technical support for institutional DHIS2 platform maintenance and issue resolutions
    • Provide technical support for quarterly reporting to DATIM
    • Run routine validation scripts to ensure compliance to logic checks and validation rules
    • Support intermittent reviews of gaps and outlier analysis and validation rules for various thematic areas
    • Provide technical guidance for regular platform updates and upgrades
    • Liaise with the IT team to improve user experience and resolve arising issues with the DHIS2 platform. 
    • Build users’ capacity to enter data, analyze and provide regular reports using DHIS2
    • Provide data analysis and management support and ensure regular maintenance of databases/information systems.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Facilitate monthly data review meeting (DRM) to provide a forum for discussion on progress, gaps in program implementation and proffer solutions
    • Submit collated report to the central program office on or before the 15th of the succeeding month
    • Conduct data quality audit and supportive supervision at the program sites to ensure compliance with monitoring and evaluation plans and procedures

    Senior Technical Associate - Monitoring, Evaluation & Research

    Job Description

    • This position will report to the Technical Advisor, Strategic Information. The successful person will provide support to all research and evaluation activities of the Directorate. 
    • S/He will support the writing of Manuscript, literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
    • The candidate will also provide support to the directorate technical reports and will be responsible for running research projects from protocol development to implementation; from setting up a research project to delivering an impactful report and publication.
    • S/He will develop insightful reports based on candidate’s data analysis and on both quantitative and qualitative research techniques.
    • The candidate should have a strong background in research, be comfortable with a range of methodologies, and be able to demonstrate a track record of conducting research in the public Health and TB/HIV space.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Must possess a Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences or Health Sciences with expertise in research or public health. A postgraduate degree in the relevant position will be desirable. 
    • Skills and experience in the use of Quantitative and Qualitative research methods.
    • Experience working with District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2)
    • Must possess a minimum of eight (8) years cognate experience in HIV/AIDS care and relevant experience supporting the implementation of M&E systems, planning and executing program evaluation.
    • Must have skills and experience in the use of Quantitative and Qualitative research methods
    • Must have a high level of quantitative and qualitative skills and appropriate use of Quantitative and qualitative data analysis software (Nvivo, Atlas.ti,  STATA, or SPSS)
    • Expertise in health systems research using mixed methods
    • Expertise in research writing and good mastery of the English language
    • Good knowledge of public health research
    • Acquaintance with HIV/AIDS programming is highly desirable
    • Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment and be able to make informed split-second decisions.
