    IT Systems and Audio Visual Specialist

    General Job Description:

    • This specialist will be a highly skilled and versatile IT Systems and Audio Visual expert who will join the IT team. The role combines some of the responsibilities of a Systems Administrator with those of an Audio Visual Technician, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure and audio-visual systems. The person will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students. This position reports to the Manager of Information Technology Operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Systems Administration:

    • Manage Google Workspace for Education (GWSfE) including 
    • setting up emails for staff and students; 
    • Creating and maintaining distribution lists, groups, and email security;
    • Create and maintain Shared Drives and Calendars;
    • Administer organizational units for permissions and role adjustments;
    • Implement the latest security protocols related to email and data protection.
    • Administer the Student Information System (SIS) in coordination with respective Admin Staff (HR, Admissions, admin assistants, etc.) and Administrators (Principals, Coordinators, etc.).
    • Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) in collaboration with the Manager of IT Operations (MITO) and Director of Digital Learning and Tech Integration (DDLI).
    • Provide education and training to staff related to Google Workspace, Learning Management System, and Student Information System when needed.
    • Administer loaner laptops and peripheral devices, including inventory management.
    • Assist the MITO and Communications and Marketing Director in the management and administration of the website, including training on the content management system (CMS).
    • Ensure data (from GWSfE, SIS, LMS and FINACS)  is stored securely and backed up regularly.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues in coordination with the Netcom support team.
    • Coordinate with the MITO to ensure a plan for end-of-life devices aligns with the hardware cycle.
    • Monitor systems’ performance to ensure smooth and secure operations.
    • Provide technical support as requested.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, document problems and resolutions, analyze recurring problems, and assess the impact of issues.

    Audio/Visual (A/V) Support

    • Assist in solving and fixing technical problems related to A/V systems.
    • Demonstrate understanding of digital mixing boards, amplification and speaker systems, and audio leveling technology. 
    • Ensure sound quality is optimal by performing sound checks in advance of performances or events and monitoring sound throughout.
    • Work closely with staff and/or students prior to hosting events to decide on music and sound requirements and set up a plan accordingly via the Event IT request form.
    • Assist in the recording/editing of sound for performances and oral examinations as needed by staff.
    • Stay current with the newest developments in sound and video technologies and assist in planning for future upgrades.
    • Demonstrate excellent planning and communication skills.

    Qualifications/Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Audio Visual Technology, or related field.
    • Possess advanced knowledge of computer systems, both PCs and Apple, as related to A/V (e.g. AirPlay, Miracast, HDMI, etc.).
    • Willingness to learn new systems independently and proactively.
    • Proven experience in systems administration and audio-visual support.
    • Strong technical skills in managing Google Workspace for Education, Learning Management Systems, and Student Information Systems.
    • Advanced knowledge of A/V systems and sound technologies.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Show willingness to learn new technologies related to audio and video recording equipment and software.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling and processing confidential information and data.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Willingness to stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements.
    • A sense of humor.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    Marketing Manager

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Overview of the Position:

    A - Content Creation, Curation, Editing, and Posting on these platforms:

    B - Work with the StoryTeller for AISL to have a strong story in the marketplace.

    • Manage the creation of all marketing collateral (presentations, website).
    • Interface with the StoryTeller to create cutting-edge content to market AISL.
    • Ensure consistency of the AISL brand, logo use, and messaging.
    • Assist with the StoryTeller in photographing events in classrooms & assemblies.
    • Designing and implementing stock signage (posters, external signs & banners)
    • Assist the Superintendent and Principals in developing presentations.
    • Collaborate with the Admissions Officer for Open Houses and VIP tours.
    • Research and understand the local demographics and competitors to create proactive, targeted marketing material.
    • Write and edit school communications, including the weekly all-school newsletter, community and emergency updates.
    • Update the AISL website and Admissions kit with refreshed content & current student photographs.
    • Liaise with the IT Department and the Admissions Officer to ensure school databases for communications are updated and maintained.
    • Provide the High School Profile for the College Counseling and Curricular areas.
    • Serve as the school liaison for parent volunteers groups (e.g. PTO) and collaborate projects and events the benefit our students and their families.
    • Assist the Director of Comms/Mktg./Dev in completing all Development goals.
    • Assist the Admissions Officer with the planning of new student/parent orientation.
    • Ensure the company is communicating the right messaging to attract prospective family  and retain existing ones

    C -  Other tasks that might arise from time to time, at the direction of the Director of Communications, Marketing and Development.

    Qualification & Skills

    • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Education, Public Relations or related field.
    • Background or interest in the education sector. 
    • Possesses an in-depth understanding of Sales and Marketing. 
    • Understands the private sector, and more specifically the education sector, in Lagos, Nigeria. 
    • Possesses a strong connection to the Local community. 
    • Demonstrates an understanding about what American International School has to offer and what distinguishes AISL from other schools. 
    • Work towards and support the school vision and the current school objectives.
    • Collaborate with media organizations and advertising agencies
    • Knowledgeable and understanding of  the needs of both local and expatriate families.
    • Current awareness of best practices in marketing; and an eye for innovation in marketing opportunities.
    • Strong understanding of effective PR and Marketing Communications.
    • Experience running successful marketing campaigns.
    • Photography skills to capture school events, activities and daily life on campus.
    • Knowledge of school safeguarding and experience of working with stakeholders.
    • Collaborative approach and genuine team player.
    • Excellent communication skills, including high standards of written communication, grammar and spelling.
    • Flexibility with working hours according to the needs of the school
