    Cash and Livelihoods Program Manager

    Location: Potiskum, Yobe
    Employment Type: Full Time

    Job Description

    • Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Cash and Livelihoods Program Manager who will work under the direct supervision of the FSL HOD and will be responsible for providing technical support for the implementation of all FSL activities in Yobe under the SDC funded project.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure that program technical implementation is responsive to communities, authorities, partners and consistent with Action Against Hunger’s relevant program guidelines, principles, values, quality standards and strategic plan;
    • Conduct technical monitoring visits to the field to ensure that all targeted program beneficiaries are rightly benefitting from the FSL interventions;
    • Monitor the environment through regular scanning and data gathering for new opportunities, innovations, new approaches, designs or technologies;
    • Conduct Food Security & Livelihood assessments for program development in relation to Yobe state context;
    • Represent AAH in donor meetings and project field visits, coordination meetings and technical meetings as designated by FSL HoD;
    • Support FSL HoD in leading program integration initiatives for multi-sectoral approach;
    • Develop tools and guidance notes on Cash-based transfer and food voucher modalities, market assessment, livelihoods recovery, agricultural inputs, resilience programming and related areas.
    • Provide individual coaching and training of FSL personnel to improve any identified areas of weakness or capacity gap;
    • Ensure that all program-related data and information on FSL activities area of the program is correct, updated, organized and accessible to the country program, HQ and other key stakeholders, and that lessons learnt and best practice are documented;
    • Support development of activities progress reports for the program team as well as contribute to the development of donor reports;
    • Review reports and gauge program progress against the logical framework, ensuring compliance with AAH internal and donor’s reporting standards. 

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Animal Husbandry, Agribusiness, Soil Science, Crop Protection and Management, Agronomy or a related field, or a Degree in any other field but with a Master's Degree in Food Security & Livelihoods related field of study;
    • Minimum of five years experience in Food Security and Livelihoods;
    • Experience in Food security and Livelihood assessments including cash and market assessments in both development and emergency contexts;
    • Proven management and leadership skills (HR, projects, and stress management);
    • Proven ability to translate analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy;
    • Experience with evaluations and monitoring as well as Program Cycle Management;
    • Experience with research and partnership developments with universities;
    • Experience with donor communications;
    • Good analytical and report writing skills;
    • Disciplined and able to work and arrive at decisions autonomously and with minimal guidance.

    Starting Gross Basic Salary  & Other Benefits

    • N718,840 per month (excluding other benefits)

    Finance & Admin Officer

    Location: Damaturu, Yobe

    Job Description

    • Action Against Hunger is looking to fill the role of a Finance and Admin Officer to manage the cash and bank book payment, posting and reconciliation accurately, ensure deduction and remittance of tax in compliance with Nigerian Tax Law and identify and report red flags of fraud and corruption cases to appropriate channel.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure bank books & cash book are closed, reconciled & sent to capital office on a monthly basis together with the bank reconciliation & cash counts;
    • Manage the advances, ensuring invoices are received and that they are consistent with the Action Against Hunger's procedures (invoice accurate and signed);
    • Support the implementation of a uniform onboarding process for all new staff;
    • Ensure that administrative processes for employee separations are followed properly, and that necessary documentation and information is provided and recorded for the processing of end of contracts;
    • Work with the HR Manager to ensure signed time sheets and pay slips are received, tracked and filed correctly for all staff, to ensure that all information related to payroll are received, consolidated and filed in a timely manner;
    • Provide relevant data relating to payroll;
    • Draft and circulate HR department communications when required;
    • Support the implementation of a uniform briefing process for all new staff;
    • Archive financial files as per Action Against Hunger archiving guidelines, keep copies at the base & send originals to the capital office on a monthly basis;
    • Verify & cross check all base monthly financial documents are correctly allocated & completed as per Action Against Hunger Archiving guidelines.

    Position Requirements

    • Degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, or related field;
    • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;
    • High level of organization skills, time management, capacity to maintain confidentiality and attention to detail;
    • Professionalism, honesty, reliability, autonomy & strong sense of responsibility;
    • Strong accounting skills including experience with SAGA accounting system;
    • Excellent report writing skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
    • Experience in managing SAGA accounting system;
    • Fluency in Hausa and English.

    • N366,604 per month (excluding other benefits)

    Nutrition and Health Programme Manager

    Job Description

    • Action Against Hunger is looking for to fill the role of a Nutrition and Health Programme Manager to contribute to the successful implementation of nutrition program activities with the aim to improve access to nutrition and health services for affected population in Borno and Yobe state under the BHA (Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance) funded project.

    Key Responsbilities

    • Update and maintain 5W/4W mapping (Health, and Nutrition sector) tool on a regular basis for the operational LGA; and share with Project Coordinator;
    • Update tracking tool to monitor programme screening based data on acute malnutrition; collect health facility based disease surveillance reports and update morbidity reporting tool for assigned health facilities/LGAs;
    • Develop nutrition activity work plans based on the program annual work plan and implement activities in a timely manner;
    • In consultation with technical leads, contribute to development of nutrition project proposals and project budgets
    • Conduct periodic capacity assessment of health workers on CMAM services delivery, IMCI service delivery, Reproductive health service delivery, vaccination etc. and review the training needs and/or coaching needs;
    • Conduct field assessments, identifying potential needs, designing and implementing response plans;
    • Ensure quality and timely field level implementation of the Nutrition programme (OTP and TSFP), against set objectives, targets, work plans;
    • Work with health workers to establish crowd control mechanisms and compliance with Infection Control and COVID-19 mitigation measures in the health facilities/centres;
    • Provide guidance and support to health workers for putting in place facility based screening, detection of acutely malnourished children;
    • Closely monitor if health workers are following the appropriate protocol for antenatal care, delivery service and postnatal care;
    • Support the State Ministry of Health facility staffs on developing customized need specific guidance notes and delivery service for on job coaching on different modules based on national protocol;
    • Conduct technical on-job coaching of health workers during supportive supervision in health facilities;
    • Mentor, and supervise the Nutrition team to promote high quality nutrition implementation approaches including conduct various trainings on nutrition and supportive supervision activities;
    • Prepare consolidated tracking tool for supportive supervision visits/on-job coaching sessions.

    Position Requirements

    • At least a Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health or other relevant qualifications with at least 5 years experience in managing nutrition and health activities;
    • Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions;
    • Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment;
    • Previous experience in supervising hygiene promotion activities;
    • Excellent report writing skills and proficient in Microsoft Office software Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
    • Fluency in Hausa and English;
    • Commitment to AAH mission, values and policy.
