    Laboratory Coordinator

    What to expect:

    • Supervise and manage all laboratory personnel at the LUTH site.
    • Coordinate daily operations to ensure timely sample processing and result delivery.
    • Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
    • Liaise with LUTH consultants, clinicians, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
    • Follow up with the Store Officer to ensure proper inventory of reagents, consumables, and ensure prompt restocking to prevent downtime.
    • Enforce staff discipline, shift planning, and attendance tracking.
    • Provide regular reports on lab performance, challenges, and improvement plans.
    • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
    • Support training and onboarding of new staff at the facility.
    • Ensure all documentation, including patient records, QC logs, and incident reports, are complete and accurate.

    Essential education, experience and skills:

    • BMLS degree with current MLSCN practicing license.
    • Minimum of 4 years post-NYSC experience in a clinical or medical diagnostic laboratory.
    • At least 1 year experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
    • Strong knowledge of laboratory best practices and quality management systems.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS ).

    Medical Laboratory Technician / Phlebotomist

    • This role is crucial to ensure the accurate and efficient handling of specimens from receipt through processing, maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.

    What to expect:

    • Receive and accurately log patient specimens into the laboratory information system.
    • Verify patient information, specimen labeling, and accompanying documentation.
    • Prepare and process specimens for laboratory analysis according to established protocols.
    • Ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of samples to maintain integrity.
    • Collaborate with laboratory scientists, phlebotomists, and other healthcare staff.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with laboratory safety standards.

    Essential education, experience and skills:

    • Minimum of a Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology.
    • Previous experience in a laboratory setting or specimen accessioning is an advantage.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
