Key Responsibilities:

Valve Maintenance and Greasing

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including greasing, on a wide range of valves such as ball, gate, globe, butterfly, and check valves.

Tool and Equipment Management

• Properly handle and maintain tools and equipment used in valve maintenance.

Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in mechanical or industrial maintenance is preferred.
• Minimum of 6years of experience as a valve technician, preferably in an offshore environment.
• Proficiency in valve maintenance, repair, and greasing. Familiarity with various valve types and their operating principles.
• Valid offshore safety and survival certificates (e.g., BOSIET, HUET). Trade certifications related to valve Ability to work in offshore conditions, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.

SPIE Global Services Energy is looking to strengthen its workforce in Nigeria byrecruiting experienced HVAC Senior Technician to join our offshore operations team.

Key Responsibility:

Maintenance & Repair

• Service and repair HVAC for control rooms, switchgear rooms etc.
• Maintain positive pressure systems in control rooms to prevent hydrocarbon gas ingress per IECEx/ATEX standards
• Overhaul chillers, packaged units, AHUs, and VRF systems in corrosive saltwater environment
• Standby during drilling and production operations.

Installation & Commissioning

• Install new HVAC systems and oversee piping, ductwork, and electrical connections
• Commission systems and conduct performance testing before handover to operations
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, P&IDs, and HVAC schematics

HSE & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with NUPRC safety standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and company HSE policies
• Complete PTW, JSA, and LOTO before working on energized equipment

Profile

• Experience on offshore oil and gas producing facility, preferable FPSO.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in the field of repair of HVAC & Refrigeration systems.
• Must hold recognized OND or equivalents or have completed a recognized trade apprenticeship or verified technician training scheme with a minimum of working experience.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Rotating Equipment Expertise
  • Pumps, compressors, motors, turbines
  • Bearing and seal maintenance
  • Alignment and balancing techniques
• Vibration Analysis
  • Data collection and interpretation
  • Use of vibration monitoring tools (e.g., CSI, SKF, Bently Nevada)
  • First-level diagnostics and reporting
• Infrared Thermography

  • Identifying hotspots, insulation issues, and sand levels in vessels
• Lubrication & Oil Analysis
  • Oil sampling procedures
  • Understanding of oil properties and contamination indicators
  • Familiarity with oil analysis software and databases
• Condition Monitoring Systems
  • PI System (OSIsoft) or similar platforms
  • Real-time data interpretation (temperature, pressure, vibration)
• Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Hands-on repair and refurbishment (e.g., bearing/motor replacement)
  • Use of hand and power tools
  • Reading mechanical drawings and P&IDs

Profile

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the maintenance field on offshore oil and gas installations.
• Higher National Diploma or Higher qualification in Mechanical/Production Engineering
• Ability to perform detailed vibration collection and analysis, download the data into the vibration database, realize first level of analysis of results, send a monthly backup to onshore for detailed analysis and follow achievement of Company's approved vibration corrective actions
• Ability to carry-out and interpret thermography survey, perform daily monitoring of Pump & Turbines condition (temperature, performance, vibration etc.) with the online process data (Pl) and suggest corrective actions to avoid failures
• Knowledge of Spectrographic (oil analysis).

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is currently looking for a PSV Senior Technician to join its work force in Nigeria. He/She shall be responsible for the safe inspection, testing, maintenance, and certification of all Pressure Safety Valves across upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities in compliance with DPR/NUPRC regulations, API standards, and company HSE policies. You protect lives, assets, and production continuity in a high-risk environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

• Strip down, clean, lap seats, replace springs, bellows, and O-rings on valves from brands like Crosby, Anderson Greenwood, Leser, and Farris
• Execute emergency repairs during unplanned shutdowns to avoid flaring penalties

Testing & Certification

• Perform statutory PSV testing and recertification intervals as mandated by NUPRC Guidelines and API 576 - typically every 12-36 months depending on service
• Conduct bench testing and in-situ testing using deadweight testers and portable pop testers on FPSOs, flow stations, refineries, and gas plants
• Stamp and issue PSV certification tags acceptable to NUPRC and third-party inspectors

HSE & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure 100% compliance with DPR Safety Regulations 1997 and NMDPRA requirements
• Complete Permit to Work (PTW), JSA, and Toolbox Talk documentation before any job

Profile

• Minimum ND/HND Mechanical Engineering from NBTE-accredited polytechnic. B.Eng preferred for IOC roles
• API 510 or API 570. BOSIET + HUET for offshore roles. COREN registration is an advantage
• 8-10 years in oil & gas, with 6 years minimum on PSV maintenance. FPSO/LNG experience is a plus
