Job & Main Specifications (Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Required Details)
- Higher National Diploma (HND) / City and Guild Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited higher institution.
- A minimum of seven (7) years post-industrial attachment experience in electrical maintenance in Oil, Gas, or Petrochemical industry, two (2) years of which should have been as a Senior Electrical Technician.
- Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Must be conversant with PTW and Lock-Out-Tag-Out (“LOTO”) system.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of electrical applications for high and low voltage electric systems.
- Conversant with workorder system processes.
- Ability to remain calm under duress and in emergency situations.
- Good leadership and mentoring skills.
- Complete understanding of all documentations within oil/gas production and processing facility, such as:
- P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation diagrams, Process Flow Sheets).
- Electrical drawings; SLDs Datasheet.
- Earthing and insulation drawings.
- Causes and effects charts.
- Piping Isometric drawings.
- Incident reporting.

Job Purpose / Objectives
- The Job holder will be responsible for supporting with the provision of legal services to the Savannah Group companies, assisting with sundry legal support relating to Savannah Group business objectives, as may be directed by the Senior Legal Counsel and/or the Legal Manager, and with the aim of increasing the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of legal advisory by the Savannah Legal Team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support with the collection, maintenance and update of the Team’s know-how resources and templates.
- Support with undertaking legal research on issues affecting the Group’s operations.
- Assist with the preparation of documentation for local companies Board and sub-committee meetings and assisting with the preparation of Board minutes.
- Support with the preparation of relevant documents for filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate closely with the Legal Team in supporting other Functional Units, sharing best practices and learning from them in order to encourage alignment of the Group’s business objectives.
- Proactively monitor Government policy and proposed changes to the legislative and regulatory regime affecting the Group's business activities and assist with developing training materials, where necessary, in order to maintain the Group's competitive advantage.
- Manage the litigation portfolio including liaising with external legal counsel in respect of litigation for and/or against the Group companies and assist with updating the litigation and dispute resolution registry.
- Manage and ensure all Nigerian Group Company statutory records and regulatory filings are maintained and up-to-date.
- Raise relevant purchase orders and process external counsel invoices for payment.
- Drive the process for attending to Know Your Customer requests from stakeholders and provide support to the audit function to facilitate probity.
- Carry out any other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by the Senior Legal Counsel, the Legal Manager and or the Company from time to time.
Job & Main Specifications (Education/Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience & Other Required Details)
- Nigerian qualified lawyer with a minimum of eight (8) years post-call experience in corporate & commercial law and litigation.
- Demonstrable experience in power, oil & gas and renewables sector.
- Excellent grounding in corporate or project matters with an ability to learn new subject matter quickly.
- Astute, commercially aware and highly motivated.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and to handle high levels of responsibility with some level of independence.
- Flexibility to take on a variety of different tasks at different levels of the business.
- Keen team player with demonstrable ability to contribute to the development of the Company.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, as the Company undergoes rapid expansion.
