Job Summary:

• The required candidate should be able to efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes and HVAC systems.
• An experienced plumber must have a thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• They are patient individuals with a practical mind and manual dexterity, able to work efficiently with great attention to detail.
• The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, gases or hot liquids.

Job Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems
• Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring)
• Install and maintain water supply systems
• Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
• Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
• Repair domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc.
• Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (air-conditioning units, radiators etc.)
• Install waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems
• Required Experience & Skills
• Proven experience as a plumber
• Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential, commercial and industrial buildings
• Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems as well as appliances
• Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly with a great deal of patience
• Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces
• Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship
• Valid license to practice profession is an added advantage

Job Summary:

• The required candidate should be able to troubleshoot and repair alternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls and engine-related mechanical failures; and perform routine preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes and inspections on all generator and by-pass pumps.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of generators
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with generators
• Repair or replace faulty parts and components
• Conduct generator testing to ensure proper functionality
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines when working with generators
• Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to solve complex problems
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and technologies related to generator maintenance and repair

Required Experience & Skills

• 7 – 10 years’ experience in installation, maintenance and repairs of generators and electrical appliances
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair generator systems
• Experience with diesel and gas-powered generators
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Experience with preventative maintenance and inspection procedures
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces
• Certificate in electronics and mechanics highly preferred.
• Fluent in the local language of the duty station
• Intermediate English skills (speaking, reading and writing) a must
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical loads for proper sizing of generators and ability to design and complete generator installations
• Knowledge of material specifications and spare parts for diesel engines, alternators and control panels
