    Senior Associate, Access Network Planning

    Job Summary

    • The Access Network planning Engineer (GPON) will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting GPON-based fibre optics networks while ensuring optimal performance and supporting technical operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of GPON Enterprise/SME Networks.
    • Oversee implementation of GPON network projects in line with scope, design standards, and agreed timelines.
    • Translate customer requirements into scalable network designs and execute deployment projects according to technical standards.
    • Conduct pre- and post-deployment GPON heatmap analysis to validate coverage, capacity, and performance.
    • Overall project planning, delivering, and updating on Project milestones through out project lifecycle.
    • Provide technical support during implementation, migration, and post-deployment phases.
    • Provide support as required on last mile connections, involving GPON and sometimes Access radios.
    • Keep inventory / database of all deployed GPON links in the network.
    • Provide the required support to GPON escalated issues from field support team
    • Good knowledge of other Access transmission mediums.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related discipline.
    • 6 - 8 years of relevant work experience.
    • Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and CAD Designs.
    • Strong Experience in GPON Technology and fibre optic transmission networks.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good Time management skills.
    • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
    • May be required to travel out of station on a very short notice.
    • Good understanding of ITU-T G.984 and G.987 Standards for GPON and XG-PON.
    • BBF.247 GPON ONU Certification will be an added advantage.

    Managed Services NOC Supervisor

    Job Summary

    • The Managed Service NOC Engineer will be responsible for South-South backhaul and access fiber monitoring, reporting, and first level troubleshooting, using various network management applications and trouble ticketing systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor network in the South-South providing specific updates, status and performance of all the network components
    • Responding to network alerts, diagnosing and resolving incidents
    • Answer all customer support related telephone calls within defined timelines
    • Receive and treat all customer access requests: MCLS and ILA sites within specified timelines
    • Receive and respond to call out tickets from customers within specified timelines
    • Interface with internal/external customers on operational issues and related events, using the company's standard operating procedures
    • Track remote hands request with tickets and ensure they are updated accurately
    • Open a trouble ticket (TT) for every fault/event and ensure it is tracked up to the point of closure
    • Prepare weekly/monthly customer reports on remote hand requests, call out tickets and backhaul performance events and activities as well as tracking escalations and other key performance indicators
    • Maintain and ensure full compliance with all the company's NOC processes and procedures
    • Ensure all customer SLAs are met
    • Undertake in any other ad hoc activity as assigned by the NOC Supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc Degree or HND in Engineering
    • At least 5 years relevant work experience
    • Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
    • Requirement for shift work to provide 24/7 support
    • Problem resolution skills with a flexible approach to problem solving
    • Able to use initiative to tackle a broad range of problems, while still following procedures and processes
    • Ability to assess and prioritize faults and respond or escalate accordingly
    • Capable of multi-tasking, good time management and prioritization of workload
    • Willing to learn and develop new skills and actively seeks out tasks that help develop skills and knowledge
    • Actively encourage strong working relationships with other teams
    • Good technical documentation skills.
