    Experienced Quantity Surveyor Vacancy

    Job Description

    The quantity surveyor manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Surveyors seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.

    DUTIES

    • preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client;
    • undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work;
    • assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies;
    • performing risk, value management and cost control;
    • advising on procurement strategy;
    • identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;
    • preparing and analysing costings for tenders;
    • allocating work to subcontractors;
    • providing advice on contractual claims;
    • analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
    • valuing completed work and arranging payments;
    • maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
    • understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

    Qualifications

    • BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying
    • Professional qualification will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 5 years post NYSC qualification experience.
    • Candidates must have worked as QS for a construction company
    • Additional Information
    • Must understand the different types of bonds and where they are applicable – Advance Payment, Retention, Performance, Bid etc
    • Must understand how to prepare material and labour schedule
    • Must be able to prepare BOQ with rates taking off with project drawings
    • Must have excellent understanding of grades of concrete with their mix ratios
    • Must have excellent understanding of how to prepare valuations and variation claims
    • Must understand what terms like penultimate valuation, half moiety, etc.
    • Must understand how to price project preliminaries in relation to extension of time.
    • Must understand the various methods of valuing preliminaries for an ongoing project
    • Must understand the preambles and conditions of contract – FIDIC , SMM and JCT
    • Must understand the various types of contracts – Fixed, Fluctuating, All inclusive etc
    • Must understand site materials inventory management and control

    Construction Accountant

    We are a real estate development company based in Nigeria and we seek an experienced professional Accountant with particular experience in construction

    Job Summary

    • We are looking for a focused, efficient, result-oriented individual with strong leadership personality and communication skills.
    • He/She will be expected to have considerable years of experience as an accountant in the construction industry.

    Requirements

    • Basic accounting functions such as invoicing, inventory control, accounts receivables/payables, general ledger maintenance, internal control, dealing with all aspect of taxation and full profit & loss responsibility
    • Monitor taxation issues, determine tax liability and tax planning
    • Considerable administrative experience.
    • Strong leadership personality and communications skills.
    • Real Estate Accounting / Construction Accounting dynamics
    • Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting policies and accounting control procedures.
    • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of B.Sc or HND Accounting, Finance or any related field.
    • Professional qualification will be an added advantage 
    • Direct experience in accounting software like SAP, QuickBooks or SAGE is compulsory.
    • Minimum of 5 years in financial accounting and management reporting in a well-structured organization.

    Project Manager with Architecture/Engineering background

    Project manager with Architecture/Engineering background

    We are eager to recruit a qualified project management professional with minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction management and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design, or a related Engineering field. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented with strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills. This person has a desire to work in an agile and collaborative environment and has demonstrated the ability to build relationships and work cross functionally. In addition, has experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    The Project Manager is also responsible for managing external consultants, contractors, and direct vendors on projects and will also handle costs, scheduling, finishing and quality of projects throughout the entire process of planning, construction and delivery.

    As Project Manager you will also supervise and coordinate all design and construction activities, ensure projects are delivered within stipulated timelines while ensuring they are within budget. 

    *Responsibilities*

    • Project oversight from real estate hand off through design, construction execution and final handover
    • Creation of project estimates/budgets and scope outline
    • Concurrently managing different projects through all phases of concept, design, execution, punch list
    • Direct contractor management including safety, cost, schedule, quality
    • Ongoing collaboration with counterparts and clients to ensure seamless project execution
    • Project budget tracking and forecast reporting to management
    • Project closeout with contractors and coordination of site inspections with potential customers
    • Contractor Invoice review and approval
