    IT Site Support

    The Role

    • The IT Site Support plays a critical role in ensuring smooth technology operations at APM Terminals Apapa.
    • This position is responsible for shaping terminal business demands, aligning requirements, and driving the delivery of IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
    • Working closely with the Terminal IT Manager and business stakeholders, the IT Site Support identifies opportunities for improvement and ensures successful adoption of new IT capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide frontline IT support for terminal operations, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of issues
    • Research and analyze improvement opportunities, prepare recommendations, and implement efficiency solutions
    • Develop and maintain documentation for business requirements and process improvements
    • Collaborate with service and functional teams to identify and implement technology enhancements
    • Support modernization and standardization of terminal technology portfolio in alignment with regional strategies
    • Ensure terminal requirements are captured during global and regional technology implementations
    • Assist in cost modeling and budgeting for IT projects and terminal tech upgrades
    • Manage end-to-end terminal IT demands, including prioritization and escalation
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across IT processes and systems.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in IT support or infrastructure management
    • Strong understanding of terminal operations and ITIL standards
    • Advanced data analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple demands and deliver under pressure
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Experience with IT tools and technologies relevant to terminal operations.

    Workshop Supervisor

    The Role

    • West Africa Container Terminal is looking for a proactive and safety‑driven Workshop Supervisor who brings strong technical capability, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to keeping our operations running reliably.
    • The successful candidate will supervise day‑to‑day workshop activities, guide mechanics and electricians, and ensure that our container‑handling equipment performs safely and at its best.
    • This role is key to sustaining high equipment availability, supporting operational excellence, and helping the terminal deliver world‑class performance.
    • Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Workshop Supervisor ensures efficient maintenance execution, supports continuous improvement, and contributes to a culture where people feel empowered to take ownership, innovate, and grow.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and execute instructions from the Workshop Manager or Shift‑in‑Charge to deliver smooth daily workshop operations.
    • Ensure optimal use of resources—people, parts, and equipment—to maximise reliability and reduce downtime.
    • Supervise the inspection, servicing, and repair of Reach Stackers, Empty Handlers, Forklifts, Trucks and other terminal equipment.
    • Support all phases of maintenance work, including preventive maintenance, breakdown response, refurbishments, and new equipment commissioning.
    • Provide hands‑on technical guidance during equipment breakdowns to help teams diagnose issues quickly and safely.
    • Liaise with maintenance planners and operations teams to schedule equipment for servicing and ensure timely, accurate work requests.
    • Maintain the highest safety standards, promoting safe work practices and ensuring tasks comply with procedures and manufacturer specifications.
    • Oversee Work Orders and job documentation, ensuring accurate reporting on tasks, timelines, materials used, and follow‑up needs.
    • Track labour hours, equipment meter readings, and maintenance schedules; share updates with planners for effective PM scheduling.
    • Identify required spare parts, tools, and materials and ensure proper housekeeping, storage, and tool care using 5S principles.
    • Support new team members through proper onboarding, guidance, and daily toolbox talks.
    • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment availability, efficiency, and workshop processes.
    • Participate in contingency procedures and respond to emergency maintenance as needed on a shift/standby basis.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Trade Test / Certificate and additional training in Mechanical / Electrical systems, people management, or maintenance processes are an advantage.
    • 3 - 5 years of experience as a mechanic and/or electrician in ports, mining, steel, manufacturing, or similar heavy‑equipment environments.

    • Higher National Diploma with relevant technical or vocational training (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics).

    • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical diagrams.
    • Confident in supervising teams, planning workloads, and maintaining a structured, systematic work environment.
    • Self‑motivated, safety‑conscious, organised, and comfortable making decisions in fast‑paced operational settings.
