    Laboratoy Analyst

    Job Summary

    The Laboratory Analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and safety of mayonnaise and vegetable oil products through meticulous analysis and testing procedures. This position involves conducting various laboratory tests, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of product excellence and regulatory compliance.                                                                                                      

    Responsibilities

    • Mayonnaise Analysis Record: Perform thorough analysis of mayonnaise samples to ensure compliance with quality standards before release for packaging and distribution.
    • Sensory Record: Conduct sensory evaluations of mayonnaise and vegetable oil products to assess taste, texture, and aroma, ensuring they meet consumer expectations.
    • Blending Record: Monitor and record blending processes to ensure accurate mixing of ingredients and consistency in product formulations.
    • Vitamin A Fortification Record: Verify and document the fortification of Vitamin A to meet nutritional requirements and regulatory guidelines.
    • Palm Olein/Soya Oil Record and COA: Analyze palm olein and soya oil samples, maintain Certificate of Analysis (COA) records, and ensure adherence to quality specifications.
    • Incoming Material Records (CCP-1 & CCP-2): Analyze incoming raw materials, focusing on critical control points (CCP-1 & CCP-2) in the production process to maintain product integrity.
    • Hygrometer Lab Record: Maintain hygrometer records to monitor humidity levels in the laboratory environment and ensure optimal conditions for testing.
    • In-House Laboratory Calibration Record: Conduct calibration of laboratory equipment, including pH meters, ovens, thermometers, and weighing scales, and maintain accurate calibration records.
    • Raw Material Analysis (Carton, label, Guar Gum & Xanthan Gum): Analyze raw materials such as guar gum and xanthan gum for quality assurance purposes, ensuring they meet specified standards.
    • Daily Quality Report: Prepare and submit daily quality reports summarizing laboratory activities, test results, and any deviations from quality standards.
    • Incubation Monitoring and Documentation: Monitor and document the incubation process for mayonnaise samples to ensure microbial safety and product stability.
    • Assist Lab in Absence of Activity: Provide support to other laboratory activities in the absence of ongoing work in assigned sections, ensuring continuity of operations.
    • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other responsibilities assigned from time to time.

    The Person

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field. 
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control within the food industry, preferably in the food industry.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording data.
    • Proficiency in various quality testing methods, instruments, and laboratory equipment and maintenance.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate findings clearly.
    • Understanding of quality control principles and regulatory requirements.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data management and reporting
    • Strong problem-solving skills to address quality issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Familiarity with quality management software and MS Office applications.

    Production Supervisor

    Job Summary

    The Production Supervisor will oversee the Mayonnaise, Oil Filling, and pet-blowing operations, ensuring our products\' efficient and high-quality production. Your role involves supervising production processes, maintaining strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ensuring a clean and organized working environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervision/Production Oversight: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to production teams in Mayonnaise, Oil Filling, and Pet Blowing operations. Monitor team performance, provide training as necessary, and address any issues promptly. Monitor production processes, ensuring machines are set up correctly, and troubleshoot problems promptly to minimize downtime. 
    • Production Efficiency: Supervise production processes to ensure optimal machine performance, minimize downtime, and meet production targets. Coordinate with maintenance staff for preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
    • Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control checks across all production processes to maintain exceptional product quality. Address quality concerns, implement corrective actions, and ensure consistent adherence to quality specifications.
    • SOP & GMP Adherence: Strictly adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain a hygienic and safe work environment. Follow established cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
    • Housekeeping: Perform regular housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness in the packaging unit. This includes cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Dispose of waste properly and maintain organized storage areas. 
    • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods. Coordinate with the cross-functional teams to ensure the timely availability of materials for production.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, production quantities, and quality control checks. Prepare production reports detailing the number of units produced, defects detected, and any downtime.
    • Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
    • Team Management: Provide guidance and leadership to production staff, including training, performance evaluations, and motivation to enhance team productivity. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and adherence to safety protocols.

    The Person

    • B. Sc/HND or equivalent in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in food production.
    • Proficiency in production processes, equipment operation, and quality control within the food industry.
    • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
    • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety regulations.
    • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team. 
    • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and quality control teams to achieve production goals and maintain quality standards.
