    Talent Management Analyst

    Job Code: DJOB

    Overview

    • The Talent Management Analyst works with the Head, Talent Management & OD to implement different talent solutions outlined in the overall talent strategy. 
    • The role holder supports with the coordination, documentation, administration of talent management activities, including related data custody and analysis.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement and execute the tasks in talent management (including but not limited to tasks related to L&D and engagement, talent acquisition, performance management and organizational effectiveness)
    • Serve as data custodian and analyst for the sub-units in the talent management department, ensuring that all required data is captured and analyzed for reporting and process  improvement.
    • Support the department head with the preparation of various reports; use outcomes of said reports to determine effective ways of improving talent management initiatives/processes for better employee experience and retention
    • Support talent management projects, including (but not limited to) diversity and inclusion, engagement, succession planning and leadership development
    • Provide administrative support in the talent management space and liaise with internal stakeholders to close out transactions i.e. procurement, finance, corporate services, transport and logistics
    • Support the department head with the management of organizational data – organization charts and ensure same is updated and shared on all required platforms, including internal portals and external sites
    • Support with the management of external stakeholders and vendors, including regulatory bodies and related institutions
    • Support the head of department in the preparation of function budgets and the periodic monitoring /tracking of budget items and expenditure

    Education / Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in any discipline.
    • A recognised HR qualification an added advantage.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related role
    • Demonstrable skills in organizing and analyzing data
    • Ability to prepare very good presentations and deliver them
    • Strong administration skills – planning, documentation, implementation skills
    • Experience across the talent management spectrum essential

    Assistant HR / IR Manager

    Overview

    • The Assistant Manager, IR/HR is responsible for all people based activity within designated area from both an operational and strategic perspective, leading and supporting the development and implementation of HR policy.
    • The Assistant Manager, IR / HR demonstrates visible leadership and role modeling in Health & Safety (H&S) and Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). More specifically, promoting H&S and D&I actions/behaviors within the function will be key, as well as fostering their integration in all programs, activities and documents developed by the department.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of the annual agenda for HR Strategy in line with functional plan.
    • Support the Plant HRBP in the recruitment of non-management staff.
    • Maintain the personnel administration/records for the site, ensuring on-time delivery, accuracy of information provided and legal compliance (especially for annual social statements, individual contracts).
    • Support the development and continuous improvement of HR systems and policies in line with best practice.
    • Work with Head of HR Industrial and Plant HRBP to identify opportunities and areas of improvement to support improved organizational and people performance.
    • Coach and equip supervisors to effectively manage their people in line with people plans e.g. performance management
    • Support production of HR data reporting and analysis to satisfy routine and ad-hoc organizational requirements
    • Working with the Head of HR, Industrial/IR, manage employee and industrial relations for the plant and provide support and guidance to the Plant HRBP.
    • Manage the interface with relevant statutory bodies and trade associations in the locality as agreed with the Plant HRBP in conjunction with Head of HR Industrial/IR.
    • Support the Plant HRBP in the deployment of policies for effective employee / industrial relations management across the plant.
    • Support the Plant HRBP on employee and industrial relations issues to ensure peaceful industrial atmosphere.
    • Liaising with Head of HR Industrial/IR, support Plant HRBP in resolving industrial relations crisis in plant.
    • Provide necessary support for the Plant HRBP during salary negotiations.
    • Under the direction of the Plant HRBP manage projects as required.
    • Monitor the social climate in the plant and provide regular feedback to the Plant HRBP and Head of HR Industrial/IR.
    • Collaborate with and support other roles within the O & HR function as required.

    Klin Coach - Mfamosing

    Overview

    The responsibility of the kiln Coach is to guarantee efficiency and optimization of the burning line by working in conjunction with process, quality and maintenance team, and to improve plant performance by developing the Control Room Operators to mastery level of competency in VRM and kiln operations. This is achieved through a continuous process of daily performance monitoring, evaluation and feedback, maintaining and improving the plant efficiency through analysis of specific process parameters and ensuring conformities with Safety, Environmental and Quality guidelines.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

    • Analyzes all process incidents and work with CCRO to mitigate the impact of such incidents and propose solutions to prevent future reoccurrence.

    • Monitors application of Production SOP’s.

    • Coordinate the development of operational procedures (SOPs) for the execution of all production related tasks in the plant.

    • Helps Plant operators to achieve operational consistencies by:

      • Leading incident review \ analysis process with CCR operators

      • Setting operational objectives from the operator incident review log data analysis

      • Reviewing and analyzing the shift production charts and report.

      • Identifying the possible cause of process target deviations and gaps in optimum conditions.

      • Reviewing and analyzing the clinker quality control data

      • Reviewing and analyzing the raw mix preparation quality control data

      • Reviewing and analyzing shift downtime reports from the software (ADAP, etc)

      • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

    • Supports plant operators training and development by:

      • Identifying the training and development needs for CCR operators and patrollers

      • Conducting effective one –on-one training activities

      • Making effective use of available training media for training delivery (CECIL + Produce & Maintain)

      • Developing an effective structured on the job training program (OJT)

      • Conducting effective group training activities.

      • Design and develop training modules.

      • Leading role in POM implementation.

    • Participate in the incident analysis process and contribute to improvement recommendations.

    • Ensures alignment of SOP’s with accepted control strategies and best practices.

    • Plays a priority role in operator training, assessment, and certification.

    • Proper inspection of the kiln workshops during failures and turn around maintenance

    • Optimize the production process using control loops

    • Develop control room operators and production supervisors competencies, coaching sessions and training modules

    • Create, update, and validate all production standard operation procedures (SOP) for all production jobs.

    • Participate actively in plant performance and plant reliability meetings

      • Apply effective coaching techniques in on the job training with CCROs and Shift Production

    Administration:

    • Report and investigate accidents and near misses with accident investigation committee.

    • Assist the Production Manager in preparation of department operation budget, monthly accurals and capita; projects.

    • Work with section/ senior engineers in planning and scheduling of major and minor plant maintenance / shutdowns.

    • Maintain a tool inventory used by production personnel

    • Maintain and administer monthly shift roster and leave roster

    • Assist the Production Manager in the development and implementation of training plans for the production personnel

    • Detect training needs of Shift personnel, guide and train them

    • Appraise subordinates and recommend promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions,

    • Compiles on daily basis job done during major repairs and discuss with Methods the execution of outstanding jobs for the incoming team.

    • Monitors the cost of production and expenditures in order to optimize the cost per tonne of clinker and cement.

    • Assist the Production Manager in the manpower planning and development.

    • Ensures compliance with environmental and quality management systems (ISO 14001 & 9001 -2000).

    • Ensures the plant surrounding are in good environmental state at all times

    • Ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of subordinates and instill discipline from time to time.

    • To maintain the quality within the range as defined in the Quality Management System (QMS).

    • Monitor the production results (production amount, energy consumption, etc.) in order to meet the target KPIs.

    Education/Qualifications

    • First degree or equivalent in any engineering discipline

    • CRO Certified

    Experience

    • 5 to 7 years’ experience in Control Room Operations (VRM, CSM, Kilns)
