    Laboratory Personnel

    Background

    • Damien Foundation (DFB) is a non-profit humanitarian medical organization affiliated with Damien Foundation Belgium (DFB) and is assisting the Federal Government of Nigeria with the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Programme (NTBLCP) in Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti and Lagos States. As Sub Recipient (SR) to L under Global Fund Grant, DFB has been vested with the responsibility of implementing Active TB case finding programme in 20 LGAs of Lagos state (Apapa, Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Ojo, Alimosho, Lagos-Island, Lagos-Mainland, Amuwo- Odofin, Mushin, Kosofe, Ikorodu Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki, Agege, Ifako-Ijaye, Oshodi-Isolo, Shomolu, Surulere and Ikeja).

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Process samples for TB screening using multiple techniques.
    • Provides support and back up to the laboratory staff in the assigned facility among other roles.
    • Report weekly and monthly using the summary form to the laboratory Focal Personnel and DFB.

    Education / Experience

    • Minimum of Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), while a higher qualification Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience.
    • Must be licensed personnel with the Association of Medical Laboratory Council with current practicing license.
    • At least 2-year cognate working experience on the bench.
    • Must have knowledge of AFB smear microscopy and GeneXpert experience.
    • Previous experience in a related role will also be an added advantage.

    Linkage Coordinator

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Relate with the PMVs, CPs and Private Health Facilities in their domain.
    • Conduct Community health promotion and education towards demand creation.
    • Escort presumptive identify by PMVs and CPs to DOT for sample collection or (where applicable with IC Knowledge) Collect samples from identified client of the PMVs and CPs
    • Transfer specimen to the laboratory for tests
    • Link positive cases to treatment at the nearest DOTS centres
    • Provide treatment supporting services to identified cases.
    • Assist in defaulter tracking of TB patients.
    • Support active contact tracing for diagnosed TB patient- (using SOP on contact tracing)
    • Collate the PMVs and CPs data on monthly basis and prepare their payment voucher.
    • Report weekly and monthly using the summary form to the DOTs officer, TBLS and DFB
    • Perform other roles as can be assigned by the CTS with directive from DFB.

    Education / Experience

    • Minimum of B.Sc. / B.A Degree in relevant field with at least 1 year work experience in a similar role OR OND/NCE in Sciences/JCHEW/CHEW with more than 3 years' work experience in a similar role

    Cough Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the facility staffs at the different OPDs;
    • Provide health Education on TB to all outpatients
    • Visit the different OPDs and identify all patients coughing
    • Enter the coughers name on the community referral register.
    • Escort presumptive TB to the DOTs clinic or where applicable collect the sputum sample from presumptive TB (following Infection Prevention Control guide).
    • Ensure the name of the presumptive TB case are captured on the presumptive clinic register
    • Ensure sputum specimens are taken to the laboratory and results retrieved for diagnosed patients to commence treatment
    • Support active contact tracing for diagnosed TB patients- (refer to SOP on contact tracing)
    • Report weekly and monthly using the summary form to the DOTS officer, TBLS and DFB

    Education / Experience

    • Minimum of B.Sc / B.A in relevant field with at least 1 year work experience in a similar role or OND / NCE in Sciences/JCHEW/CHEW with more than 3 years work experience in a similar role.

    Education / Experience

    • Minimum of SSCE or its equivalent and the ability to write and speak English and other local language.
    • 3 - 5 years experience.
    • Sound knowledge about roads / routes within the L.G.A as specified above.
    • Competent in Android phone App usage.
    • Should possess a valid Lagos State based dispatch driver’s license.

    Age:

    • Not more 45 years.

    Coverage Area:

    • 10 LGAs in Lagos State (Badagry, Epe, Eti-Osa, Ibeju -Lekki, Agege, Ifako-Ijaye, Oshodi-Isolo, Shomolu, Surulere and Ikeja). The Dispatch Riders will work in their respective Local Govt for the Active case findings (ACF) intervention to carry phlegm from DOTs sites to the laboratories.

    Finance / Admin Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Reviewing all payments to be made for completeness, appropriateness, authorization and availability of funds.
    • Ensuring proper maintenance of all books of account under the supervision of the Finance Manager.
    • Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial/expense reports including bank and cash reconciliations to be submitted to the Principal Recipient.
    • Handling the timely preparation and submission of taxes due and filing of tax returns, while ensuring that contracts are issued to clients in compliance with DFB HR guidelines.
    • Maintaining payroll and budget spending records, in coordination with the Finance Manager and HR & Operations Department.
    • Working closely with the Finance Manager and Operations & HR Manager to provide the technical team members with advice on activity budgets, relative to procurement of goods and services invoicing and reimbursable expenses, while maintaining a continuous line of communication to clear any financial issues.
    • Assisting all programme staff to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash and other spending in the course of implementing activities that are in line with the work plans.
    • Reviewing staff timesheets on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring timeliness, correctness, and compliance with policies and procedures of DFB.
    • Daily posting of financial record or as may be directed by the Finance Manager.
    • Providing support for annual and Quarterly audits, which may include research and reconcilement.
    • Proper archiving of financial and Admin documents - manually and electronically.
    • Ensuring strict adherence to DFB Process, Policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Finance Manager

    Education / Experience

    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public or Business Administration, or related field OR Degree in another field combined with a professional qualification in accounting or finance (CPA/CIA or equivalent)
    • Job experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work in NGO, Global fund/ Donor Funded projects.
    • Experience: 3 - 5 years
    • Competency in the use of Accounting Software: Quickbooks (Preferably), SAGE, Navision etc
