    Transmission Engineer (Fiber, OSN, DSS, DWDM)

    Level: Mid-Senior

    Job Purpose

    • This function Control, Manage and Support day to day transmission operations and management of the fiber network, Tellabs and OSN Dxx / DWDM network operations to ensure an optimum network availability, excellent customer experience, delivering Operational excellence with most cost optimized model in the world.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Day to day management of all national and Metro fiber, Huawei ODN/DWDM and Tellabs Dxx / DWDM Network Operations & Maintenance with Strategic Partners(SPs) to deliver optimal availability and Perpetual quality ( Customer).
    • Drive the end to end process documentation, implementation and compliance to processes, procedures and policies to ensure seamless operations across all SP( Process Management).
    • Regulatory Compliance; ensure that all activities of Operations and Maintenance in the central and Region adhere to corresponding regulatory requirements in daily operations.
    • Partner & Contract Management; ensure all processes for effective management of Partners.
    • Build a capable and motivated team at Airtel to create a high performance team environment.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor of Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or Telecoms Engineering (Masters Degree in Engineering a plus).
    • 5 -7 years of varied experience in operation and maintenance in the Telecom industry
    • 4-6 years managerial experience in a GSM/mobile company with at least 4 – 5 years hands on experience in various fiber network implementation and Huawei OSN/DWDM and Tellabs SDH

    Manager - IP Planning and Operations

    Level: Mid-Senior

    Job Purpose

    • This role supports the Enterprise business unit to do IP planning and provide customized technical solutions to enterprise business customers.
    • This person will be interacting with the enterprise business team and customers very extensively.
    • Flexible and economical design with the timely support of IP-related operational issues is the essence of this role.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Produces designs and implementation plans to test and activate new links for enterprise customers. This includes design for IP Access, BGP transit, and MPLS VPNs on layer 2 and 3 and APN services.
    • Provides Technical validation of new customers’ IP-related order requests.
    • Configures switches, routers and ensures solutions are fully documented as part of day-to-day business operation.
    • Specifies design parameters and Prepares BoQ preparations for new IP solutions.
    • Liaises with service providers to validate the design and ensures they are fit for purpose.
    • Supports the sales teams in responding to new tenders and bids on IP-specific designs.
    • Ensures effective solution delivery using effective project management techniques.
    • Performs service migration activities of IP customers on request.
    • Liaises with Enterprise Support service desks in fault isolation and performance-related issues. Performs capacity management routines to ensure links are fully optimized and right-sized.
    • Network management and IP service monitoring.
    • Pro-active escalation, follow-through liaison with appropriate departments to resolve technical issues which may impact delivery timescales or quality.
    • Creation of contingency plans to minimize service issues.
    • Support in Managing & interacting with chosen Intentional ISPs & carriers
    • Interacting with partners and Vendors concerning IP-related issues – Ericsson, Huawei, Aviat, Cisco, etc.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
    • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in ISP and Carrier networks domain with at least 2 years’ experience in an area of IP & Internet network – Planning.
    • At least three years’ experience of IP services on Cisco or Juniper equipment.
    • Good operations support skills and self starter.
    • Sound knowledge of Carrier & Enterprise Network - Planning & Operations.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Excellent IP. MPLS and routing knowledge in an ISP environment.
    • Excellent Cisco hardware and IOS knowledge.
    • General knowledge of telecom industry and standards.
    • Excellent English language skills a must, other languages an advantage.
    • Logical decision making abilities.
    • Ability to innovate and deliver value to business.
    • Ability to manage an outsourcing partner to effectively deliver on SLAs.

    Head - Sales & Distribution

    Level: Mid-Senior level

    Job Purpose

    • To direct and oversee the increase of the width and depth of distribution, which would translate into acquisitions and revenues and increase channel satisfaction levels.
    • To develop excellence in distribution through effective market planning and ensuring the financial services availability within the consumer reach; and gaining market share from the competition.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Develop and implement Distribution Design & Structure
    • Optimize Partners’ returns in terms of ROI and ensure mutually healthy returns.
    • Drive the improvement of distribution channel satisfaction levels.
    • Drive the improvement of distribution channel satisfaction levels.
    • Direct Analytics and Performance Monitoring (Reporting).
    • Ensure Consistency and Standardization of Delivery documentation.
    • Develop strategies to Improve utilization of low utilized touch points.
    • Development of primary financial statements, such as Balance Sheets and Profit and Loss for partners.
    • Review regularly electronic and cash movements across the network and ensure appropriate Liquidity Management.
    • Coordinate Partner and agents management processes.
    • Build a capable and motivated Distribution team to create a high performance team environment.

    Education & Experience

    • Good First Degree from a reputable university.
    • Master’s Business in Business Administration (MBA) would be preferred additional qualification.
    • 10 Years of Experience in Sales, Dealer network, Channel management in reputable Organizations preferably in the FMCG industry.
    • At least 3 years in a senior management role.
    • Experience in Telecoms would be an added advantage.
    • Role requires extensive travel.
