    Safety Officer

    We are a highly reputable haulage company looking to engage the services of a Junior Health and Safety Officer to assist the facilitation of compliance with health and safety guidelines and providing advice on measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations.

    Key Functions of the Role

    • Assist the Safety officer  in charge in the development of safety policies and programs
    • Monitor and ensure compliance to all safety policies
    • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
    • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
    • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
    • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
    • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
    • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
    • Assist in carrying out regular site inspections to check that policies and procedures are being properly implemented
    • Assist in carrying  in-house training about health and safety issues and risks
    • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
    • Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers

    Any other duties as may be assigned

    Educational Requirements

    • BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field is preferred
    • Certificate in health and safety

    Experience

    • Min of 4 years of experience working as a Health and Safety officer
    • Experience in  the transport/logistics industry is a must

    Required Skills

    • Proven experience as safety officer and working with drivers
    • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
    • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
    • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
    • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
    • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
    • Outstanding organizational skills
    • Diligent with great attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
    • Must be willing to relocate
    • Must be agile

    Driver

    We are a highly reputable transport company, looking to engage the services of a Pool car driver.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Drive designated pesons around for official matters
    • Run Official errands in line with Company’s policy
    • Carry out routine inspection on the car to ensure that it is always in good condition
    • Identify electrical and mechanical problems that may hinder smooth working of the car
    • Consider different routes, check climate and traffic reports to decide the best time to travel and the best route to take

    Drivers Admin Officer

    We are a leading transport and logistics company looking to engage Drivers Admin Officer reports to the HR Manager and is responsible for the recruitment and management of drivers in various location and would assist to deliver wide range of support and administrative functions.

    Key Functions of the Role

    • Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
    • Participate in the recruitment of truck drivers
    • Maintain and update physical and digital drivers' records like employment forms, guarantor’s verification forms, employment contracts and PTO requests
    • Update internal databases with new employees’ information
    • Gather payroll data like bank accounts and working days
    • Manage collation of drivers benefit and compensation such as HMO, inentives, etc
    • Conduct verification of drivers' documents and information
    • Participate in drivers diciplinary procedures
    • Manage and update HR databases with different information such as new hires, terminations, sick leaves, warnings, vacation and days off
    • Help organize and manage new drivers' orientation, on-boarding, and training programs
    • Manage distribution of work tools such as CUG phones, ID cards and ensure these items are properly recorded and retrieved form exiting drivers
    • Any other task as may be required.

    Education & Experience:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    • At least 3 years of experience working as an Driver manager or similar role.
    • Experience in Logistics is a plus
    • Strong administrative skills.
    • Managerial experience and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.

    Fleet Officers

    Our company is a leading haulage company in Nigeria, looking to engage qualified and experienced Fleet Officers to manage our fleet across various locations in Nigeria. The ideal candidate would be required to:

    • Oversee assigned fleet’s operations and make direct reports to the Fleet Coordinator on fleet performance and other operational requirements
    • Monitor and report daily trucks turn-around time
    • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking vehicles
    • Direct investigations to verify and resolve all complaints relating to fleet management or drivers conduct
    • Obtain and maintain annual inspections certification by regulatory authorities or in line with contractual obligations from clients
    • Obtain and maintain all truck licensing, registrations and permits
    • Oversee proper use of fuel/diesel rations; maintain log and account for fuel/diesel and oil storage tanks
    • Coordinate daily pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections
    • Utilize GPS systems in conjunction with tracking unit to monitor drivers and track vehicles at all
    • Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to disciplinary procedures and drivers’ orientation program and administering disciplinary measures to non-compliant drivers.
    • Assist the HR unit in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
    • Managing drivers so they adhere to strict schedules.
    • Training and re-training of the drivers for efficiency
    • Regularly holding meeting with the (except those on      official assignment) to discuss and ensure the smooth operations and the actualization of the goals of the company
    • Constantly monitor the tracking report and follow up with drivers on issues raised and send updated report on issues resolution.

    ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in supply chain management, including, haulage, logistics, and fleet management and customer service operations
    • Complete and up-to-date knowledge of Federal and State transportation regulations.
    • Ability to accurately calculate load arrival times and other performance parameters.
    • Must have a working knowledge of computers and Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel with a manifest readiness to learn company specific fleet management software quickly
    • Ability to develop and maintain an accurate record-keeping system
    • Ability to think on one’s feet and make decisions quickly
    • Listening skills: Willing to listen to drivers, office personnel, management, state and federal regulators and their concerns.
    • Handle emergencies: Ability to stay calm and take decisions quickly
    • Differentiate driver issues, decipher problems versus complaints and proffer relevant solutions

    Procurement Officer (Supply Chain)

    We are a leading logistics and supply chain company looking to hire a procurement Officer who would be responsible for conducting purchasing activities and ensuring that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. The ideal candidates must be conversant with truck parts and adept at negotiation. 

    • Assist in negotiations with contacts to obtain cost effective procurement

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or its equivalent from a recognized
    • Professional Certification in Procurement and Supplies Management is a plus
    • At least four (4) years’ experience in procurement in a large organization

    • Proven experience in logistics and haulage sector is an added advantage

    • Expert negotiation skills
