    Automation/Instrumentation Engineer

    About the role

    To perform the maintenance and programming of central control systems and associated equipment, provide technical assistance to Electrical / Instrumentation Engineers and Technicians, and provide detail engineering and field supervision for the electrical/instrumentation portion of the capital projects.

    Responsibilities

    About the role

    The Central Control Room Operator’s objective is to organize and coordinate production shift team to produce good quality product taking cognizance of safety, efficiency, effectiveness, quality and cost per tonne.

    Automobile Electrician

    Crusher Operator

    About the role

    To ensure raw material is crushed for the smooth running of production. Monitor through the mimic board or ECS screen the control parameters of the entire crushing operations. Control or maintain suitable process parameter according to the established requirements. He/she will also be responsible for the smooth operation and general housekeeping of all production shops. Record hourly the performances of the crusher based on the obtained parameters reading e.g. operating time, resumption time, stoppages as well as their causes, adjustments, activities done during the progress of operation and shutdown on respective forms and logbooks. Maintains regular interval calibration of belt weighed to have quality and efficient crushing operations. Complies with prescribe work instruction in the proper starting and stopping of the crusher and auxiliary units in order to prevent loss and damage to equipment as well as to personnel.

    • First level inspection before start-up beginning from the pry belts to the crusher platform

    About the role

    The purpose of this role is to optimise the reliability of physical assets through embedding Condition Monitoring processes and a proactive condition monitoring culture across the plant operations. The role will support the PM manager to improve the overall condition monitoring maturity across the portfolio. This position provides discipline leadership and expertise in condition monitoring and reliability engineering principles, through the development and deployment of appropriate systems, processes, guiding principles, training, and coaching.

    Mobile Plant Operator

    A Mobile Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining loaders, haul trucks, Dozers, grader, excavator’s equipment and machinery, and carrying out operations in line with safety regulations. They are also involved in overall quarry operation activities involve; overburden removal, loading, hauling, transporting of raw material from the quarry to the crushing plant, stockpile and overburden tipping area. They are also to ensure that quarry operation is carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

    Mobile Equipment Planner

    About the role

    This role involves effective maintenance planning, scheduling & inventory control as well as preparing master schedule and workload balance to ensure that manpower is effectively utilized, plan each significant job and determine safety requirements, job steps (execution job plan), blueprints, materials, special equipment needs, and manpower required to perform necessary work. The Mobile Equipment Planner is responsible to prepare all planned maintenance that have to be carried out by the execution team, service companies or contractors. In that role, the Mobile Equipment Planner will work closely with the Mobile Equipment Inspector and the execution team on the following tasks and responsibilities in order to reinforce the day-to-day job preparation & planning.

    Health & Safety Coordinator

    The role involves overseeing the installation of safety devices on machinery and collaborating with the health and safety manager to investigate and mitigate workplace incidents. It ensures compliance with company and regulatory H&S policies, conducts internal audits, and reviews the company’s HSE manual and related procedures. Responsibilities include generating project-specific H&S plans, ensuring subcontractor and supplier compliance, and promoting awareness and training among staff. Regular engagement with internal controls and EMS H&S activities is essential.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure every worker gets inducted onto the site by having a simple safety Induction program and materials that covers key topics.
    • Keep copy as record for each individual. A simple induction briefing should be used for all visitors to offices.
    • Work with the Health and Safety manager and line managers to assess and develop training needs and organize / facilitate suitable programs to support the site safety awareness and skill to reach the required level.
    • Audit and Assess site contractors and staff for compliance with Lafarge rules and Policies, react and interact with contractor management and Lafarge management when gaps. It is likely a daily site inspection will be needed with a structured system to track positive and negative observations.
    • Issue a simple weekly report for health and safety manager to get feedback and update on critical health and safety matters, KPIs and concerns
    • Involvement in more detailed Formal audits to the group standard may also be requested.
    • Assess with support of company doctor the emergency response readiness, awareness and materials. Monitor and track first-aid certification and training is suitable to manage anticipated incidents on the site.
    • Support line management and challenge site ways of working - review field and site risk assessments, works and look for concerns or unanticipated risks or non-compliances to rules. Escalate and challenge.

    Within the framework of the plant's production objectives and methods, and the quality objectives, this role involves implementing systems/tools/procedures to optimize production, improve processes and quality, introduce better tools, and reduce costs. It also requires leading continuous performance optimisation teams, through involvement in projects or problem solving with the assistance of a more experienced engineer.

    Responsibilities

    • Continuously analyse equipment/system performance (e.g. specific electrical and thermal energy consumption, refractory consumption) and propose solutions to achieve budget
    • Implement tools and procedures for continuous process improvements

    Mobile Equipment Planner

    This role involves effective maintenance planning, scheduling & inventory control as well as preparing master schedule and workload balance to ensure that manpower is effectively utilized, plan each significant job and determine safety requirements, job steps (execution job plan), blueprints, materials, special equipment needs, and manpower required to perform necessary work. The Mobile Equipment Planner is responsible to prepare all planned maintenance that have to be carried out by the execution team, service companies or contractors.     The purpose of this role is to optimise the reliability of physical assets through embedding Condition Monitoring processes and a proactive condition monitoring culture across the plant operations. The role will support the PM manager to improve the overall condition monitoring maturity across the portfolio. This position provides discipline leadership and expertise in condition monitoring and reliability engineering principles, through the development and deployment of appropriate systems, processes, guiding principles, training, and coaching.
