    Quality Control Shift Operator

    About the role

    Responsible for controlling & monitoring the quality of material from quarry up to dispatched cement.

    Responsibilities

    • Performing compliance review of raw data and operations, in-process and release testing results
    • Analyses each product on X-Ray analyser and record the results of these analysis in the operations books
    • Control the raw meal, coal meal and cement proportions in case of analysis
    • Oversees and checks that the materials are in good condition
    • Perform the stability and preparation check for lab instrumentation
    • Under the supervision of shift leader takes steps to have a proper quarry output
    • Standardizes the Blaine & LECO apparatus and keeps it in good condition
    • Follow up and supervise the shift technician team
    • Prepare the daily & monthly report
    • Carry out fused beads preparation method
    • Record necessary results
    • Perform testing during the shift, determination of chloride, free lime, and calcinations degree, Loss on ignition Sulphate by LECO for cement, clinker, and hot meal. Kiln feed and raw meal
    • Promote teamwork
    • Inform production operators of timely results as per the approved program of control
    • Follow up with the Shift technicians

    Required skills

    Working knowledge of cement manufacturing processesLaboratory Information Management system (QIMS)Raw mix composition toolProcess data extracting tool (IP21)Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Power PointWorking knowledge of equipment operation procedure.Able to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills

    Experience

    • 2-3 years’ experience in lab of an industrial unit

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Tech, Chemistry
