    Community Water Chlorinators

    Jireh Doo Foundations humanitarian intervention in the North East of Nigeria spans largely across two state, Borno and Gombe states and has been working actively in the sectors of water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security and livelihood protection and Gender Based Violence (GBV).
    Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking candidates with a minimum of one year of experience working on child protection for the implementation of an NJR funded project, Nigerian Joint response in Mafa LGA
    Duties and Responsibilities
    General Purpose of Position: Under the direct supervision of the WASH Engineer and Community based hygiene Promoter, the water quality monitors/chlorinators will be responsible for the chlorination of water facilities and monitoring of Free Residual Chlorine at the household level in Simari, Zannari and Gyelmari communities in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State on the NJR 2021 project. He/she will be responsible for implementing chlorination in accordance with JDF WASH standard operating Procedures.
    Reporting lines
    Reports to: WASH Engineer/Community based hygiene promotion Officer
    Duties and responsibilities

    • Implement and monitor water quality activities in targeted communities in Mafa LGA with focus on chlorination and Free residual Chlorine monitoring.
    • Collect water quality data using Kobo tools
    • Maintain and submit proper records of all test carried out to ensure quality compliance to chlorination activities.
    • Undertake all other duties that may be determined by the JDF WASH team Lead.
    • The duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on project needs.

    Hygiene Promotion Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities General Purpose of Position: Under the direct supervision of the Senior WASH Programme officer, the Community based hygiene promotion officer will be responsible for the hygiene promotion component of JDF NJR WASH project in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State. He/She will be responsible for the implementation of hygiene promotion component ensuring program quality, completion of activities within allocated funding and project period, and identifying new needs for program expansion and improvement. Reporting lines 
    Reports to: Senior Programme Officer -WASH 
    Subordinates: WASH Associate, Community hygiene promoters/volunteers
    Duties and responsibilities

    • Plan and conduct assessments (e.g. KAP surveys) on WASH and hygiene among communities and take part in proposal development.
    • Identify the most appropriate message regarding the target population, evaluate the necessary material needed for a hygiene campaign/activity, identify problems and provide sustainable changes of WASH Knowledge, Aptitudes and Practices to the local communities.
    • Conduct training for community hygiene promoters ensuring regular monitoring and follow up of progress as well as ongoing capacity development.
    • Mobilize, organize and supervise, through community hygiene promoters, members of the communities to take ownership of maintaining best practices in personal, community and environmental hygiene
    • Conduct participatory hygiene promotion sessions within communities, schools, groups of persons with specific needs, according to age, gender and diversity, community-based committees and other groups, such as duty bearers and stakeholders.
    • Promote hygiene education through a variety of means, such as information sharing, dissemination, and communication materials.
    • Maintain full qualitative and quantitative records and reports of activities, disaggregated by age, gender and diversity where appropriate.
    • Provide regular written and verbal reports when due and upon request
    • Document and share lessons learned and success stories in relation to hygiene to inform future programming
    • Support/undertake any activity/duty that help achieve JDF set goals and objectives as per employee’s ability.
    • Uphold JDF’S code of conduct and standard operating procedures.

    Qualification and experience Qualification 
    A minimum of first degree in public health, Community health and hygiene, Environmental Health Studies, Social Sciences or other relevant fields. Preferable - Female and Male candidates are encouraged to apply

    Protection Outreach worker

    Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience working on GBV issues for the implementation of the Nigerian Joint response project in Mafa LGA area of Borno state.
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • The protection outreach worker will be responsible to coordinated community mobilization for all activities to ensure participation and ownership.
    • Liaise directly with other service providers working within the LGA and communities where the project is implemented and facilitate referrals to other service providers (health including Mental health, Shelter, NFIs and /or legal providers, etc.) and update referral pathway
    • Facilitate the setting up of information desk at the women and girl’s safe space
    • Contribute within the women and girls center to the identification of at-risk girls, boys and women and ensure proper documentation
    • Ensure Do No Harm analysis are carried out and the humanitarian principles are adhered to.
    • Working as part of a team to design and deliver a range of innovative community outreach and engagement activities/sensitization

    Nurse

    Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience working on GBV issues within a for the implementation of the Nigeria joint response project with the aim of providing relevant health support to survivors of GBV and coordinate outreach services
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Directly supervises GBV Case workers and outreach workers
    • Produce weekly and monthly data and regular narrative reports
    • Supports implementation and ensure adherence to monitoring and evaluation plans.
    • To coordinate with other GBV service providers on case management.
    • Ensure that solid case management, referral and information management systems are in place for appropriate identification, responses and follow-up for survivors of GBV.
    • Collaborate with other project staff to ensure referrals to other services such as psychosocial support, Mental health and education/livelihoods interventions
    • Ensure the immediate needs of women and adolescent girls are identified during rapid assessment and are immediately responded to
    • Facilitate the identification of vulnerable women and adolescent girls, profile and provide them with dignity kits
    • Facilitate life skills training sessions for adolescent boys and girls
    • Maintain effective and efficient oversight, quality control and reporting systems and processes that ensure regular field monitoring and modifications as required.
    • Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, government actors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, and other relevant actors.
    • Regularly attend LGA level GBV sub-working group meetings, Case Management meetings at appropriate levels to contribute to coordination of case management responses across agencies.
    • Contribute to proposal development activities (narrative and budget) through providing information from the ground and participation in rapid assessments.
    • Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams, liaising with community leaders and other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment.
    • Submit reports for all field activities, trainings and meetings.

    Qualification and experience
    Essential:

    • B.Sc in Nursing, Public Health, Reproductive Sexual Health, Midwife, Human Rights or related degree desired
    • At least 2 years' experience in implementing Gender Based Violence programs, preferable social work or case management, in humanitarian setting
    • Previous experience supervising and managing a team in a cross-cultural setting especially Case Workers
    • Previous experience in emergency preparedness and response
    • Experience working with case files providing regular documentation preferred
    • Experience in facilitating and leading life skills sessions for adolescent girls strongly desired.
    • Good self-organization and basic management skills.

    WFS Facilitator

    Jireh Doo Foundation is seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of one years of experience working on GBV issues for the implementation of a Nigerian Joint response funded project vulnerable populations in MAFA LGA of Borno State
    Duties and Responsibilities

    • The facilitator will be responsible for day-to- day management of the women friendly space
    • Will be responsible for implementing all WFS activities in the target communities in the state, both directly and indirectly through training/mentoring of WFS animators and Protection committee
    • Closely supervise community-based animators carrying out activities with children and women during child friendly spaces and WFS activities
    • Support Protection committee to provide support to IDPs and families through home visits, in line with the action plans developed
    • Ensure all documentation, reports, and records are maintained per agreed procedure, and information is provided on community activities as required
    • Co-facilitate step-down training and support Protection committee to implement program activities in the target communities, through: co-facilitation of training on various issues and topics as outlined in the project implementation plan and training modules
    • Maintain documentation and M&E systems at the community level: under the guidance of M&E Officer, work with the Protection committee to ensure that all documents for children and women/families are kept up-to-date, accurate, and secure; and ensure that information is compiled as needed in an accurate and timely basis to assess progress against activities and outcomes for each community.
    • Ensure that all financial activities conducted in at the safe spaces are properly documented in line with the project procedures with JDF
    • Ensure consent form is received from beneficiaries before taking photos or videos, using the JDF consent form.
    • Will keep all official decisions, documents, recordings, photos and other materials of organisation and her partners confidential except with written approval from JDF
    • Will carry out any other official tasks as may be assigned by the Protection Officer/Program Manager
    • Facilitate the setting up of information desk at the women and girls friendly space where adolescent and women of reproductive age can access Sexual Reproductive Health information.
    • Contribute within the women and girls friendly space to the identification of women, adolescent boys and girls, and children at risk and make appropriate referrals
