    Mining Engineer

    Job Description

    • We are looking for a junior mining engineer for our cement mining operations. For this job, you need to have a mining engineering degree and be familiar with the technical aspects of mining operations, equipment, and technology.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure the maintenance of breakdown machines is properly communicated through the Dy. Mining Engineer to the Maintenance team for necessary repairs to achieve the maximum target.
    • Ensure achievement of Daily and Monthly targets in order to meet the annual targets of Limestone and Laterite material output (according to budget requirement).
    • Communicate with clients to determine needs and explain complex issues
    • Conduct research and studies on site
    • Manage field activities and implement engineering designs
    • Diagnose construction or machinery problems
    • Resolve malfunctions or other crises when they arise
    • Supervise the Shift in Crushing, loading, and hauling to achieve the set target
    • Deploy required machines to required raw material face to load and haul same to the crushers.
    • Ensure deployment of the adequate number of loading and haulage machines for the supply of required material to meet crusher production rate.
    • Liaise with the quality assurance laboratory on an hourly basis to attain the required quality.
    • Ensure that raw (vertical, roller, or ball) and cement mills are not shut down on account of want of limestone.
    • Ensure the safety of men, Mobile, and static machines.
    • Ensure a danger-free environment.
    • Report machine fault to the person in charge of Heavy Mobile Plant and promptly.

    Requirements

    • HND/B.Sc. (Mining Engineering) Minimum 3 Years Experience
    • Good communication and leadership skill
    • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office
    • A good Team Player
    • Ability to work with little or no Supervision

    • Executing inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system with proper documentation responsible for working with procurement on ,goods inwards and issues to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly:
      • Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs within budgetary limits
      • Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
      • Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks
      • Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials to maximize availability of working capital
      • Ensure that goods inward / stock control department is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
      • Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedure.
      • Liaising with procurement department to ensure any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason are chased and followed up until received.

    Junior Inventory Officer

    • Support the effective management of materials at the plant to ensure alignment of inventory levels with appropriate guidelines.
    • Manage the day-to-day operations and activities of the stores (centralised) under the supervision of the Head, Stores.
    • Conduct physical counts to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing products at the stores.
    • Ensure incoming products are received and stored according to DCP’s policies & procedures.sws
    • Maintain online inventory management software and ensure timely identification of triggers (or manually identify when minimum threshold levels have been reached) to initiate actions for stock replenishment.
    • Post details of receipt and dispatch transactions and ensure integrity of the inventory management system.
    • Maintain up to date records of materials inventory at the stores (existing stock, pending orders, etc.)
    • Provide information on current stock and orders to provide justification for re-ordering.
    • Monitor trends of product receipt and dispatch at the stores to provide basis for demand forecasting
    • Conduct periodic inventory stock counting/ inventory accuracy checks
    • Perform end-of-day inventory reconciliation to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved in time.
    • Notify Head, Stores of irregularities in inventory records and support in reconciling / resolving.
    • Maintain approved HSE best practices in the stores.
    • Develop periodic reports of stores operations and performance as required.
    • Maintain electronic inventory management database.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head, Stores.

    Requirements

    • Full grade 12 certificate with credits or better in English and mathematics.
    • Diploma in CILT or CIPS.
    • Minimum of five (5) year relevant work experience.
    • Possess relevant skills in basic MS Office applications and working knowledge of business Enterprise Resource Planning systems.
    • Sound judgement informed by extensive practical Knowledge and expertise.
    • Good communication and interpersonal.
