    Excavator Operator

    Description

    We are looking for Excavator Operator who will be responsible for operating Excavator in a safe and effective manner.

    Requirements

    • A Trade Test or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
    • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the operation of excavator.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate all excavator in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
    • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of machinery.
    • Conduct pre-operational checks on excavator and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as scheduled and/or required.
    • Ensure all excavator is safely and securely stored.
    • Participate in routine maintenance of Excavator Machinery.
    • Recommend any requirements for maintenance or repairs to the Shift Coordinator.
    • Practice workplace safety.

    Safety Manager - Customer Trucks Empowerment Scheme

    Description

    JOB PURPOSE

    Ensure deployment of safe driving improvement programs for the Customer Trucks Empowerment Scheme (CTES).

    KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop road transport standard operating procedures/policies and cascading to customers & other key stakeholders.
    • Develop key performance indicators, keep a record of incidents, monitor trends, and carry out performance analysis
    • Participate in regular meetings with sales & marketing management, assessing and addressing safety issues and implement improvements towards safe CTES operations
    • Develop a safety inspection checklist for CTES trucks and carry out regular safety inspections to ensure their safe operation.
    • Lead investigations of all road traffic incidents and share learnings amongst key stakeholders
    • Set up a CTES accident review panel that will review fatal/serious accidents.
    • Manage the Defensive Driving Training program for CTES drivers
    • Promote and uphold safety awareness amongst CTES customers

    Requirements

    SKILLS AND BAHAVIOURS

    • First degree BSc. + certification in Safety Management. MSc. degree will be an advantage.
    • 10 years relevant working experience as HSSE professional in either the Manufacturing/Construction/FMCG/Oil and Gas Industry.
    • Highly skilled incident management (incident reporting, investigation, analysis and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions)
    • High experience in the use of Tripod Beta or any other Root Cause Analysis Tools and Techniques will be an added advantage.

    Instrumentation Technician

    Description

    Perform routine maintenance, repairs, installation, calibration, adjustment and integration of various types of plant instrumentation equipment.

     

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • Ordinary National Diploma of its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
    • Trade Test with Minimum of (8) years relevant work experience.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform all work order maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of plant equipment as directed.
    • Troubleshoot, inspect, test, maintain, repair, clean and calibrate instrumentation and solid state and microprocessor based control equipment including plant communications equipment, programmable controllers, distributive control systems, generator excitation equipment, battery chargers, and semi-conductor devices.
    • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, transmitters, etc. as needed.
    • Install control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment.
    • Use a wide range of test equipment, including recorders, computers, control and tuning modules, PC based software analyzer programs, oscilloscopes, data analyzers, logic test equipment, analogue and digital multi-meters, meggars and other test equipment, while performing tests to identify problems and to maintain and calibrate equipment to performance standards.
    • Make regular inspection rounds of plant instrumentation, and control equipment.
    • Assist in developing detailed preventive and predictive maintenance procedures for plant instrumentation and control equipment.
    • Install, build, or modify plant instrument, and control equipment as directed by the Instrumentation Engineer or Section Head.
    • Troubleshooting, repair, and minor programming of various PLC control systems, frequency drives and other electrical equipment.
    • Participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs and observe safety in accordance with government and company standards.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Section Head from time to time.

    • Rebuild equipment as needed; disassemble and clean items; order replacement parts and repair mechanical malfunctions; reassemble and test items.
    • Work with engineers as needed in order to complete assignments; provide input as requested regarding the design, installation and maintenance of systems.
    • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics; provide input and recommend changes on design blueprints as requested.
    • Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools used in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Prepare reports, forms, correspondence and related documentation regarding assigned operations in a complete, accurate and timely manner.

    • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
    • Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar)
