    French Teacher

    DUTIES:

    Classroom Management responsibilities

    • Ensure a physically and emotionally safe environment for students through positive framing, kind communication with students and adults, and predictable, consistent routines.
    • Use classroom and behavioural management strategies that are positive, structured, consistent, respectful, and responsive to student needs, to build a safe, orderly, inclusive and positive classroom community.
    • Use a wide array of data to make instructional choices and create specific action plans to increase student achievement, including dynamic student grouping for small group instruction.
    • Utilize an effective approach to behaviour management, time management, classroom organization and appearance, planning, teaching, and monitoring learning.
    • Demonstrate an understanding of inquiry and give students choices to show their understanding.
    • Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all students in activities.
    • Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance.
    • Respect all deadlines set out by the PYP Coordinator and the school and keep proper documentation.

    Curriculum related responsibilities

    • Plan, execute and assess French learning within the agreed school French curriculum framework collaboratively with the PYP Coordinator and class teachers.
    • Write and implement learning objectives that are challenging and measurable.
    • Ensure that all aspects of the IB PYP continuum are fully integrated into all learning including the Approaches to Learning, the IB Learner profile and Voice, Choice and Ownership
    • Prepare teaching and learning documents in line with the school policy.
    • Provide the materials necessary to class teachers including but not limited to, input to weekly plans, contributions to unit planners and portfolio materials.

    Other responsibilities

    • Take an active role in the wider community, participating in extracurricular activities, school trips, and extension activities as necessary.
    • Use all school resources effectively with appropriate consideration of financial and environmental impact of all decisions with particular attention to IITA’s commitment to build an ecologically sound future that takes into account the issues of climate change.
    • Be responsible for communicating effectively with external stakeholders as parents on the individual progress of students through all means used at The International School of IITA.
    • Take on active supervision during scheduled duties.
    • To maintain confidentiality of privileged information about students, faculty members, and administration.
    • Coordinate appropriate and ongoing displays of student work.
    • Read and properly use the IB guidelines for PYP.
    • Understand and live the school’s mission.
    • Contribute positively to staff morale.
    • Work as a team player.
    • Maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, line managers, and administrators.

    Activity Supervisor and Support Teacher

    Afternoon Learning Enhancement Programme responsibilities

    • Work with the Head Teacher to design and implement an effective Afternoon Learning Enhancement Programme.
    • Ensure that all children are ready for Afternoon Activities at the appropriate time.
    • Teach and prepare lessons for activities for afternoon clubs as necessary.
    • Distribute registers for all afternoon activities and ensure they are completed.
    • Supervise the departure of children from school at the end of school.

    Breaktime Supervision Responsibilities

    • Monitor the arrival of all children in school from 7.00am to 7.30am
    • Conduct Break duties as assigned.
    • Ensure that staff are on break duty as per the rota and report absences to the School Administrative Secretary

    Technical Assistant

    DUTIES:

    • Liaise with the Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer to monitor the GIFT parent stock transferred and maintained in a bio secure facility, and functional GIFT brood stock quarantine facility at Premium Aquaculture Ltd., and raising F1 to produce F1 broodstock and produce F2 progeny.
    • Liaise with the Delta Coordinator, and Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer and work with the identified consultants to set up two to three SME GIFT hatchery operators in Delta, Ogun, Kwara and Nasarawa States.
    • Liaise with the Delta Coordinator and Aquaculture Technology Transfer Officer to organise identified grow out farmers in Delta, Ogun, Kwara and Nasarawa to start the GIFT grow out pilots.
    • Assist in procurement of hapa nets and feed for the GIFT SME hatchery and grow out operators.
    • Assist in the procurement of feed for the grow out pilots.
    • Assist in the implementation of inputs distribution to pilot grow out and SME hatchery farmers in Delta, Kwara, Nasarawa and Ogun States.
    • Raise issues with the Officer-in-Charge of Nigeria for trouble shooting.
    • Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisors.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATION:

    • HND/BSc in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Animal Science or any other related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in aquaculture farm operations particularly in tilapia with a well-structured environment.

    COMPETENCIES:

    The ideal candidate must:

    • Be experienced in aquaculture farm data collection, farm record keeping, and monitoring preferably in donor-funded or non-for-profit environment setup.
    • Be computer literate and have basic data processing knowledge.
