    Bar Man

    Job Description

    Our client is on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and are looking to put together an amazing team to drive the operations of our Cafe.

    We are looking for a Bar Man to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.

    He will be responsible for educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should also be able to work various shifts.

    Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.

    Other responsibilities include;

    • Greet customers as they enter
    • Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
    • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
    • Prepare beverages following recipes
    • Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
    • Receive and process payments (cash and debit cards)
    • Keep the bar area clean
    • Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
    • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
    • Comply with health and safety regulations
    • Communicate customer feedback to your Line manager and recommend new menu items

    Storekeeper

    Job Description

    • Our client is on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and are looking to put together an amazing team to drive the operations of our Cafe.
    • We are looking for an organized storekeeper who will be primarily responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing supplies for daily operations.
    • They work closely with the purchasing department, maintain Cafe stores, conduct weekly inventories of consumables, chemicals, equipment, uniforms, etc.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Receive and forward all types of goods and deliveries in and out of the Cafe to the correct point of storage area.
    • Follow all standards for issuing and receiving stock within the store's area of operation.
    • Monitor and take inventory on regular basis to compile orders based on par levels or needs.
    • Maintain clear and organized records to ensure all reports and invoices are filed and stored properly.
    • Monitor Periodic Automatic Replacement levels for all food items to ensure proper levels.
    • Responsible to verify all goods arrived as per the agreed purchase, delivery note and agreed quantity has been received.
    • Responsible for storage of both food & beverage and operational stock.
    • Responsible for the day to day check on the storage facilities of upkeep and hygiene.

    Skills & Requirements

    • A minimum of high school qualification
    • Minimum of 1 year plus experience
    • Must be organized and punctual.
    • Well-presented and professional.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Prior experience in retail, preferably in a management position, would be advantageous.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Accountant

    Job Description

    Our client is on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and are looking to put together an amazing team to drive the operations of our Cafe.
    We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

    Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

    Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all accounting transactions
    • Prepare budget forecasts
    • Publish financial statements in time
    • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
    • Ensure timely bank payments
    • Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
    • Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
    • Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
    • Audit financial transactions and documents
    • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
    • Comply with financial policies and regulations

    Skills & Requirements

    • Work experience as an Accountant (3 years)
    • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
    • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
    • Experience with general ledger functions
    • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
    • BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
    • Additional certification is a plus

    Head Chef

    We are on the verge of opening the very best Cafe in Abuja and we are looking for a Chef to join our team to prepare delicious meals for our amazing clients.

    The Chef's responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should also be familiar with sanitation regulations. If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we’d like to meet you.

    Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.

    Other responsibilities include;

    • Ensure appealing plate presentation
    • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
    • Monitor food stock and place orders
    • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
    • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
    • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

    Skills & Requirements

    • Minimum of 2yr experience in a similar role
    • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
    • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta maker e.t.e)
    • Good knowledge of African and Continental dishes
    • Good knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
    • Leadership skills
    • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
    • Excellent time management abilities
    • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
    • Familiarity with sanitation regulations
    • Certification from a Culinary school or related certificate would be a plus
