    Registrar

    • The Registrar is a Principal Officer responsible for the day-to-day administration of the University, excluding financial matters. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar serves as the Chief Administrative Officer, custodian of university records, and Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, Congregation, and Convocation. The Registrar is also a key member of the University Management and Head of the Registry.
    • The ideal candidate must be a person of integrity, strong leadership, and excellent human resource management skills. They should be capable of fostering collaboration among staff, students, and external stakeholders while effectively navigating the complexities of a university system.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A good honours degree with at least 15 years of relevant administrative experience in a university or comparable institution.
    • A minimum of five (5) years at the management level and at least four (4) years as a Deputy Registrar.
    • A relevant higher degree or professional qualification is required.
    • Proficiency in ICT for administrative management is essential.
    • Membership in ANUPA and other relevant professional bodies is mandatory.

    Age Requirement

    • Candidates must not be older than 60 years by December 2025.

    Deputy Bursar

    • The Deputy Bursar is a key financial administrator responsible for supporting the Bursar in overseeing the university’s financial operations. The role involves financial planning, budgeting, treasury management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Deputy Bursar is expected to maintain accurate financial records, develop financial policies, and contribute to the efficient management of the university’s resources.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • A good university degree in Accounting or a related field from a recognized institution.
    • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant post-qualification experience.
    • Must hold one of the following professional certifications: ACA, CNA, ACCA, CPA, ACNA, or ANAN.

    Age Requirement:

    • Candidates must not be older than 50 years by December 2025.

    Public Relations Officer

    Role Summary:

    • Wigwe University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Officer (PRO) to join our team. This role is crucial in shaping the university’s public image, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication across various platforms.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance the university’s reputation.
    • Manage media relations, including press releases, interviews, and public statements.
    • Oversee internal and external communications, ensuring clarity and consistency.
    • Coordinate events, conferences, and community engagement initiatives.
    • Monitor public perception and advise leadership on PR strategies.
    • Manage the university’s social media presence and digital communications.

     

    Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
    • At least five (5) proven experience in public relations, communications, or a similar role.
    • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage crisis communication and handle sensitive issues professionally.
    • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • A resident of Rivers State would be ideal.
