    Grant Writer and Reviewer

    • The Grant Writer and Reviewer reports directly to the Partnerships & Fundraising Manager and will support in writing proposals for business funding, support in finding funding opportunities for the organization and writing polished proposals to earn grant money in driving the organization's consistent achievement of strategic objectives, and foundation's operations. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization.
    • Research potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
    • Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals and reports.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather information and data necessary for grant proposals and reports.
    • Customize proposals and reports to meet the requirements and preferences of different funders.
    • Manage the grant application process, including deadlines, submissions, and follow-ups.
    • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
    • Track and report on the status of grant applications and awards.
    • Assist with other fundraising activities and initiatives as needed.
    • Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.
    • Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience

    • A minimum of three years experience in grant writing

    Academic Qualifications

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree, with international exposure a huge plus.
    • Degree in business, non-profit management, or related fields.

    • Excellent organizational skills, and demonstrated ability to create and implement new systems to keep WAAW running smoothly, while also accounting for different work styles and remote locations of staff.

    Media and Marketing Manager

    SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

    • The Marketing Manager at WAAW Foundation will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to promote the foundation's mission, programs, and initiatives.
    • The individual will play a key role in building and managing the foundation's brand, driving the organization's digital presence, and fundraising efforts, increasing awareness, and driving engagement with target audiences.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Digital Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with WAAW Foundation's goals and objectives. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of digital initiatives.
    • Content Marketing: Create and manage compelling, high-quality content for various digital channels, including social media, website, and email newsletters. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content aligns with WAAW Foundation's mission and resonates with the target audience.
    • Social Media Management: Manage and grow WAAW Foundation's social media presence on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase engagement and reach.  Track key social media analytics every month, including Google Analytics, Bitly, statistics, LinkedIn company stats, etc.
    • Website Optimization: Optimize the organization's website for search engines to enhance visibility and organic traffic. Ensure the foundation's website provides an optimal user experience and supports our communication and fundraising goals. Monitor and analyze website analytics to identify opportunities for improvement. 
    • SEO and SEM for Visibility: Conduct research and implement SEO strategies to enhance the online visibility of the foundation and its programs. Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns to reach target audiences interested in supporting our cause. Implement A/B testing and other optimization techniques to enhance website performance.
    • Email Marketing: Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. Segment email lists and personalize content to maximize effectiveness.
    • Digital Advertising: Plan and execute digital advertising campaigns across various platforms. Monitor and analyze the performance of advertising campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
    • Donor Engagement: Develop strategies to expand the donor base, including outreach to individuals, corporations, and philanthropic organizations. Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing donors, sponsors, and partners to enhance their engagement and long-term commitment. Implement and oversee donor acknowledgment processes and gratitude initiatives.
    • Digital Fundraising:  Collaborate with leadership to develop comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the organization's goals and financial needs. Implement online fundraising strategies, utilizing digital platforms and technologies. Manage crowdfunding campaigns and explore innovative digital fundraising avenues.
    • Influencer and Partnership Collaboration: Identify and engage with influencers, thought leaders, and potential partners in the digital space to amplify the WAAW Foundation's reach. Develop and nurture relationships with key influencers for potential collaborations and partnerships.
    • Online Events and Webinars: Plan and execute online events, webinars, and virtual conferences to engage with the target audience. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure the success of digital events.
    • Community Building and Support: Work closely with the community and donor engagement teams to generate support and involvement through digital channels. Implement strategies to convert digital interactions into tangible support for WAAW Foundation's mission.
    • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to track and report on the performance of digital initiatives. Provide regular reports to management, highlighting key metrics and insights.

    REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
    • Proven experience as a Digital Marketing Expert.
    • Proficiency in digital marketing channels, tools, and platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, SEO, email marketing, marketing automation).
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
    • Strong writing and editing skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Creative thinking and a passion for staying updated on industry trends.
    • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies.
    • Familiarity with CRM software and customer segmentation techniques.

    Executive Director

    SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

    • WAAW Foundation is seeking a highly motivated visionary leader responsible for driving the organization's mission, strategy, and overall success. They will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and effective management to ensure the Foundation achieves its goals in empowering African women and girls in STEM education. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the Foundation's mission and goals.
    • Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation, growth, and sustainability.
    • Identify emerging opportunities, trends, and challenges in STEM education and women's empowerment.

    Program Development and Management:

    Partnership and Stakeholder Management:

    Program Manager

    SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE

    • WAAW Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead and manage the development and implementation of our STEM education programs. This individual will be responsible for the overall technical quality of WAAW’s programs. He/she will be responsible for the technical design of WAAW’s programs and quality, and manage the overall design of training curricula, training delivery methods, and training methods. He/she will develop a MEL strategy and systems to support all of WAAW’s programs and lead the design of work plans, monitor delivery, and collate lessons learned. The Senior Program Manager will ensure progress reports are delivered on time to client/donor specifications and will support the management of WAAW’s relationships with key stakeholders. He/she will drive the foundation's mission by overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of our programs.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Development and Strategy: 

    • Develop and refine program strategies in alignment with the foundation's mission and goals.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to establish program priorities and long-term objectives.
    • Lead the design and development of new programs to address the evolving needs of women in STEM.
    • Ensure the integration of program strategies and activities with the overall WAAW strategy, results framework, and MEL processes.
    • Explore and implement strategies to scale programs and multiply impact.

    Program Management:

    • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of STEM education programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Develop and manage program timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
    • Monitor program performance and evaluate outcomes to measure impact and success.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of program activities and results.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with partners, donors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with external organizations, educational institutions, and industry partners to amplify the impact of collaborative initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships to extend the reach and effectiveness of programs.
    • Represent WAAW Foundation at conferences, events, and meetings to promote the organization's mission.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Drive the collection, analysis, and interpretation of program data.
    • Implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact.
    • Analyze data and feedback to make data-driven decisions and improvements to program strategies.
    • Research best practices, implement data collection training for our fellows, and rewrite the data we collect.

    Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Utilize advanced data analysis tools and statistical methods to extract meaningful insights from the data, uncovering trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
    • Conduct statistical analysis and create data visualizations to communicate findings to the team and stakeholders.
    • Monitor data quality and integrity and implement strategies to address any discrepancies or anomalies.
    • Establish and maintain data quality standards and best practices for the organization.

    Budget Management and Fundraising:

    • Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient use of resources.
    • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial support for program initiatives.
    • Cultivate relationships with donors, write grant proposals, and explore diverse fundraising avenues for program sustainability.

    Curriculum Development:

    • Lead the development and enhancement of STEM education curricula.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and industry professionals to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
    • Ensure alignment of curricula with program goals and educational standards.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead and motivate a team of program managers, coordinators, and support staff.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    • Support the Business Development manager in the performance management of program staff, through providing feedback on their work quality.

    REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

    • Minimum of 5 years experience in education programming in Africa.
    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline + 5 years of program project management experience, including planning, budgeting, delivery, measurement, and evaluation of programs. Master's degree is an advantage.
    • Expert knowledge of M&E processes and procedures.
    • Proven experience in data analysis, ideally in a nonprofit or education-focused organization.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Experience working on international donor-funded programs.
    • Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down.
    • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
