Reports To: Workshop Supervisor / Body Shop Manager
Location: Ode Remo, Ogun State
Job Summary
The Panel Beater is responsible for repairing, reshaping, and restoring vehicle body panels and structural components to meet company quality and production standards. The role supports automobile manufacturing, body fabrication, rework, and finishing operations to ensure vehicles are properly aligned, aesthetically finished, and ready for painting or final assembly.
Key Responsibilities
Body Repair & Panel Work
- Repair damaged vehicle body panels, frames, and metal components.
- Remove dents, straighten bent structures, and restore body alignment using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Replace or fabricate damaged body sections where necessary.
- Carry out panel fitting and alignment during vehicle assembly.
Fabrication & Surface Preparation
- Cut, shape, weld, and smooth metal panels to required specifications.
- Prepare repaired surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, and grinding.
- Ensure smooth finishing and proper contour of repaired body parts.
Production Support
- Work closely with welding, fabrication, painting, and assembly teams to achieve production targets.
- Assist in correcting body defects identified during quality inspections.
- Support rework and refurbishment of vehicle bodies when required.
Quality Control
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure conformity with company standards and technical specifications.
- Ensure accurate alignment, fitting, and finishing of body panels.
- Report major defects or technical issues to supervisors.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Comply strictly with company HSE policies and workshop safety procedures.
- Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of tools and work areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of SSCE or Trade Test Certificate in Panel Beating, Auto Body Repair, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ practical experience in panel beating or auto body repair within an automobile or manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of vehicle body structures, repair methods, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to use panel beating tools, welding equipment, grinders, and measuring tools effectively.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills are an added advantage.
- Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Experience with diagnostic and electrical testing tools.
