    Head of Content Marketing

    Job Description:

    • We are looking for a content marketing leader who can take ownership of our content marketing team and help create a content marketing strategy that drives engagement, builds new and maintains existing fan bases in key territories, and continues to position us as a thought leader in our market.
    • Reporting to the COO, you’ll work alongside teams focused on digital, demand generation, product marketing, brand marketing, and account based marketing, so you must enjoy working collaboratively.

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • Strategy; build a strategic roadmap and take product concepts from ideas through validation, shipping, measurement, and iteration. Define the long-term vision and strategy for the content data management practice, with a focus on efficiently scaling data quality work and maximizing business impact
    • Budget: Create and efficiently manage the content budget. Quarterly reports on budget performance will be required
    • Team management: lead and motivate the team. Monitor, report, and appraise performance regularly. Work closely with the people operations department to build a committee of creatives through innovative initiatives.
    • Stakeholder Management: Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across various departments, especially the A&R and marketing departments, to ensure there is buy-in and understanding about plans, tactics, and campaigns.
    • Content Marketing: Oversee the execution of various content materials for the business and across the roster and other visuals required for initiatives and strategic goals by the business while ensuring high quality.
    • ROI / Analysis: Manage and report on on-and-off line demand generation campaigns versus KPIs with a strong reporting framework, including regular dashboards, business insights, and a process for continuous improvement. Report to the COO and other stakeholders about successes, and always be looking for new opportunities that we can capitalize on.
    • Process: Define content design workflows and parameters for the work to drive discussion and bring to implementation. You will continuously review our processes to ensure cost efficiency and optimization

    What you need to land this role:

    • You’ll have held a leadership role for a minimum of 3 years with over 8 years experience in content marketing for any facet of the entertainment industry (TV/streaming services, content production companies)
    • Demonstrated experience in building a content marketing strategy that impacts business results.
    • Excellent written skills with the ability to present at the board level and inspire a team.
    • Broad experience across content marketing channels and a thirst to continue testing and learning.
    • Track record of delivering innovative campaigns and other visuals
    • Budget management experience.
    • Project management skills is required

    Cinematographer

    Job Description:

    • Mavin is currently looking for a cinematographer and editor who will be responsible for managing camera crews and lighting crews and overseeing the selection and manipulation of technical equipment to create striking images on the screen. Creativity, spotlighting trends, and innovation are critical for this role.
    • Our ideal candidate should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • Analyzing research regarding available locations, props, sun position, and weather conditions at the prospective film sites.
    • Selecting and sourcing required equipment, tools, and crew members
    • Visiting locations and taking a series of test shots before deciding on angles, fliers, framing, equipment, lighting, and techniques that will be used to create the desired atmosphere for the film.
    • Attending cast rehearsals and providing advice where appropriate
    • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
    • Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
    • Create rough and final cuts
    • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
    • Consult with stakeholders from production to the post-production process
    • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and the industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.
    • Keeping up-to-date with the advances in the film industry and attending workshops and training sessions wherever possible
    • Maintaining quality and quantity of content formats shot and delivered
    • Create and maintain production of new original content outside of artist promotional content
    • Expanding networks and maintaining relationships with industry professionals

    What you need to land this role:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Production or similar discipline
    • Video editing is an added advantage
    • Extensive experience working in the film/entertainment industry
    • Stamina and Physical strength
    • The ability to work for long hours and spend time away from home
    • A passion for film, a good eye for detail, and excellent hand-eye coordination

    A&R Manager

    Job Description:

    • Mavin is currently looking for a qualified A&R manager who will oversee and coordinate with the Head of the department on the business’s goals, targets, and other administrative aspects for the A&R department. Our ideal candidate should be an intelligent, flexible, proactive, organized, and independent person with proven years of experience in leadership.
    • As an A&R Manager, you have a keen ear for musical and vocal talent, and the ability to stand behind your decision with sound reasoning and critical thinking. Traditionally, this was a male-dominated position, but this trend has changed dramatically in recent years – good news for women in the music industry!

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • Prepare written correspondence and communicate internally and to third parties (Producers, Artists managers, Lawyers, etc.)
    • Implement new strategies in scouting for creatives and talents
    • A&R management: overseeing the creative development of our artists and writers, contributing to the release schedule, establishing strategic collaborations (co-writes, sessions, features, remixes, collaborations, getting songs cut by others), constructively critiquing music.
    • Remix management: managing, procuring, and facilitating remix opportunities, both incoming and procured.
    • Trend watching & signing new talent: monitoring playlists, streaming platforms, and charts and following the industry news to discover new signings and collaborative ideas.
    • Industry relationship management: creating, maintaining, and maximizing relationships with artists, songwriters, publishers, labels, and other managers, including data entry in the associated relationship databases.
    • Organize and attend shows and showcases of both signed and unsigned artists
    • Coordinate album recording sessions
    • Prepare monthly reports

    What you need to land this role:

    • Minimum 4 years of creative experience
    • Strong understanding of recording, production, and creative side of the music business
    • General knowledge of key industry players and familiarity with all music
    • Good ear for music. You’ve been discovering the best new music for years and following the most influential Spotify playlists.
    • People person. You’re outgoing, like networking, and taking initiative and are often found at industry events and shows. You have an existing network of industry professionals and artists.
    • Go-getter. You’re diligent and do not wait to be told what to do. You don’t mind working late or doing whatever it takes to get the job done

    Senior Accountant

    Job Description:

    • Mavin is looking for an impeccable senior accountant to work closely with and report to our Director of Finance and the finance team.
    • You will be tasked with maintaining the fidelity, transparency, and accountability of financial transactions, data analysis, and financial reporting.

    Here is what you will be doing:

    • Maintain records on Quickbooks
    • Maintain VAT and WHT schedules for filing and other statutory payments
    • Manage payables and receivables
    • File and obtain relevant compliance certificates, such as Pension, ITF and NSITF compliance certificates
    • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
    • Assist in budget preparation as well as monitor budgets for variance analysis
    • Prepare monthly management accounts with quantitative and qualitative analysis taking cognisance of currency translations.
    • Prepare intercompany reconciliations
    • Liaise with external auditors on year-end financial and tax audits
    • Review existing financial policies and create new processes and procedures where necessary to ensure best practices
    • May be required to conduct royalty analysis
    • Other duties as assigned

    What you need to land this role:

    • BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
    • Must be a chartered accountant- ACA or ACCA.
    • At least 4 years of experience working as a finance associate.
    • Good knowledge of Accounting, Taxation and IFRS and intangibles
    • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel proficiency
    • Proficient in QuickBooks
    • Knowledge of intellectual property and royalty management will be an advantage
    • Organisational and time management skills
    • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
