    Head, Strategy & Special Projects

    Job Description

    • This job role is responsible for driving strategic planning, overseeing the execution of critical initiatives, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The role entails leading cross-functional projects, developing strategic frameworks, analyzing key business trends, and acting as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or any related discipline.
    • An MBA or master’s degree in any management and strategic course is a significant advantage.
    • Possession of at least one of the following certifications is an added advantage: Certified Chartered Accountant (CCA)/ACCA; Project Management Professional (PMP); CISM; COREN
    • At least 10 years post-qualification experience in corporate performance management techniques in a reputable organisation with at least 5 years in a supervisory role .

    Technical competencies

    • Good knowledge of the power business and industry environment.
    • Proven experience with payroll processing, calculation of employee compensation, benefits, allowances, etc.

    Job Responsibility

    • Coordinates the design, implementation and periodic review of the corporate strategy in alignment with the organization's goals.
    • Identify and use value levers to craft strategies towards improving corporate performance 
    • Collaborates with division/sub division heads to initiate and implement special projects.
    • Prepare and analyse periodic corporate strategy and special projects reports to highlight issues and recommend remedial actions.
    • Drives and sustains integration among other functions for the purpose of planning and measuring the use of common systems that speak to overall corporate Strategy and projects.
    • Drives organisational strategy session and conducts periodic corporate performance review (this will involve monitoring the implementation of action plans devised during review session). Strategy session to be conducted by February of every year.
    • Liaises with relevant stakeholders to develop an automated information management system for the storage and retrieval of key information and various corporate reports.

    Head, Metering

    Job Description

    • This role ensures energy accountability by deploying and maintaining meters across the franchise to reduce ATC&C losses.

    Job Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and any related field.
    • A postgraduate professional certificate in a relevant field. (Added advantage).
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies.
    • At least 10 years of practical experience in commercial, metering, and energy analysis in a power company with 5 years of management experience.

    Technical Competences

    • Deep knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
    • Sound Electric Power Knowledge - Energy audit, Distribution network, Demand side management, Energy efficiency
    • Good knowledge of the electricity supply chain value system
    • Knowledge of the electricity regulatory codes and requirements

    Job Responsibility

    • Develops strategies and plans for the deployment and maintenance of meters.

    • Monitors 3rd party vendors on metering installations in line with SLA.
    • Oversees the Audit, confirmation, and assurance of energy from the Grid and distributed by IBEDC across the franchise.
    • Reviews periodic and ad-hoc reports to relevant stakeholders and management.
    • Ensures compliance of meters and meter installations with Quality Management and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

    Head, Revenue Protection & Assurance

    • Job Description
    • This job role drives the implementation of strategies and policies related to prevention, detection and recovery of energy losses attributable to billing irregularities, illegal connections to IBEDC and interference with metering installation.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in any field.
    • Minimum 10+ years’ cognate experience with at least 5+ years in a managerial role.
    • Experience in business intelligence and data visualization tools will be an added advantage.
    • A postgraduate professional certificate in relevant field. (Added advantage).

    • Supports the development of strategic loss reduction plans and policies and ensure the implementation to curtail revenue leakages.
    • Supervises regular inspection of MD meters and associated equipment for the purpose of ascertaining optimal performance.
    • Coordinates the Inspection/Recertification of energy meters.
    • Preparation of periodic and ad-hoc reports to management and relevant stakeholders.

    Lead, Utility Economics & Tariff Setting

    Job Description

    • This Job role guides/pilots IBEDC’s alignment with all industry regulations governing Nigerian electricity markets to minimize losses occasioned by Market Settlement transactions.

    Job Requirements

    • A first degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, or any relevant field.
    • A relevant postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
    • Membership of relevant professional bodies.
    • At least 10 years’ experience in a regulatory function with at least 5 years in a supervisory position within the Utilities industry or a closely related industry with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.

    Technical competencies

    • Adequate knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
    • Deep understanding and knowledge of regulatory stipulations vis-à-vis rates and permits
    • Deep understanding of the laws and regulations governing the power industry
    • Strong financial and business acumen, financial analysis, and reporting skills

    • Participates in regulatory agency meetings and public meetings/hearings that pertain to electricity markets.
    • Prepares an internal report about electricity market trends for IBEDC management. 
    • Assist in developing long-term rate strategy and plans to prevent earnings erosion.
    • Liaises constantly with relevant Functions about revenue assurance.
    • Performs other sundry assignments as directed by the Head, Regulatory.
