    Tool Pusher (Offshore)

    Job Type: Permanent
    Reports To: Senior Tool Pusher of Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)
    Supervises: Supervises the Drillers

    Job Summary

    • Supervise the drilling operations and associated activities and ensure it is in accordance with the well program
    • Ensure drilling operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and productive manner.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure pre-job meeting is carried out for all non-routine drilling operations.
    • Ensure the Driller is informed on an ongoing basis as to the well program objectives and communicate any changes in plans.
    • Monitor the maintenance, repair and installation of all drilling equipment including repair, lubrication, maintenance records, and inventory levels.
    • Maintain records of inspections and certification of drilling equipment, tools and tubular.
    • Ensure the mud mixing systems and solid control equipment are being monitored constantly and properly maintained.
    • Relieve the Driller at the Driller’s console as operational requirement demands.
    • Partake in the daily operations meeting with the OIM, Senior Toolpusher and other rig department heads.
    • Monitor the application of the Company Preventative Maintenance System program within the drilling department.
    • Review and approve all drilling related work permits.
    • Supervise equipment preparation for impending drilling operations.
    • Assist in planning the job activities of the drilling department and associated activities.
    • Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements - assist in supervising well killing operations in an emergency situation.
    • Perform all well control calculations (i.e. mud weight increase, initial and final circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc).
    • Assist the Senior Toolpusher or OIM in coordinating the activities of third party personnel responsible for various aspects of the well program.
    • Review the daily drilling operations report for accuracy and approve accordingly.
    • Prepare Requisition Purchase Orders for equipment or parts necessary to keep the drilling operation free of downtime. Assist in ensuring sufficient stock of parts and materials are maintained.
    • Assist in the planning, organisation and supervision of rig move operations.
    • Maintain proper communication with the Senior Toolpusher and OIM regarding the progress of drilling and associated operations.
    • Recommend adjustments to drilling parameters as necessary so as to improve the overall drilling operation’s performance.
    • Promote and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, third party personnel and Client Representatives.

    EHSQ:

    • Ensure subordinates understand and apply guidelines of the Company EHSQ manual and rig specific procedures.
    • Inform the Senior Toolpusher or OIM of any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations
    • Actively participate in the weekly meetings, Quality Improvement Plan program, and all other Company safety management systems.
    • Ensure that kick drills are carried out regularly and recorded.
    • Ensure a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig.

    Personnel:

    • Meets the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix.
    • Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
    • Provide leadership and motivation to rig personnel.
    • Ensure all subordinates receive an annual performance appraisal. Recommend promotion or disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
    • Assist in training to ensure all personnel are competent to perform their allocated job.
    • Make recommendations for promotions.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications skills.
    • Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the safe operation of the drilling.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Valid medical and vaccination certificate.

    Chief Electrician (Offshore & Permanent)

    Reports To: Electrical Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer.
    Supervises: Supervises the Electricians.

    Job Description

    • We are currently looking for a Chief Electrician for our client. This is a permanent position with our client for the operations on their rigs offshore.

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment onboard the rig.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure daily inspections and maintenance on electrical equipments are carried out.
    • Ensure that the permit to work system is in place and followed.
    • Participate in the effective management of the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) – ensure all records are maintained on a timely basis.
    • Carry out periodic maintenance according to the PMS guidelines and coordinate same with supervisor and other department heads.
    • Operate, maintain and repair power generation and distribution equipment, i.e. generators and engine controls, SCRs, switchgears, transformers, etc.
    • Maintenance and repair general rig equipment such as HVAC system, refrigeration plants, power and communication systems, lighting, etc.
    • Carry out maintenance and repair on electrical components of drilling equipment, i.e. Driller’s console, DC drilling motors and auxiliaries, Top Drive System, draw works, mud pumps, etc
    • Carry out maintenance and repair on electrical components of marine equipment, i.e. thruster motors and auxiliaries, ballast pumps, control panels, cranes, etc.
    • Perform and interpret power calculations, power factor, insulation tests, and positive relay tests as required.
    • Study and understand electrical schematics and logic diagrams as required.
    • Gather data from instruments interpret past and present performance to understand trends and ensure problems are solved.
    • Maintain an adequate supply of spares in order to fulfil maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation – generate requisitions as required.
    • Inform supervisor and other department heads of any technical problems or limitations that may affect the safe operation of the rig.
    • Implement the outstanding recommendations from audits, as issued by Clients, Regulatory Authorities or rig management.
    • Ensure that reports for repair and maintenance of equipment are accurate and complete.
    • Assist in supplying information for maintenance and repair budget.
    • Communicate equipment problems or breakdown information via direct supervisor to Field Support Group.

    EHSQ:

    • Demonstrate commitment to Company safety policies through leadership and guidance.
    • Actively participate in weekly safety meetings and pre job meetings as required.
    • Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to the Electrical Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer and other department heads.
    • Prepare Job Safety Analysis for hazardous situations.
    • Ensure a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig.
    • Assist in reviewing and updating the current safety case in consultation with rig and shore-based management.

    Personnel:

    • Meets the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix.
    • Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
    • Ensure that all subordinates have the necessary skills and experience to fulfil their assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Prepare annual performance appraisal for all subordinates. Recommend promotions or disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
    • Supervise and guide crew members in their On the Job Training (OJT) program.
    • Maintain discipline onboard and ensure compliance with Company disciplinary procedures

    Qualification/Requirements

    • Electrical Engineering degree or High School Diploma.
    • Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communication skills.

    Barge Master (Offshore & Permanent)

    Reports To: Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)
    Supervises: Assistant Barge Supervisor, Ballast Control Operator (BCO), Deck Pusher, and Paint

    Job Summary

    • Ensure that all marine aspects of the rig’s operations are carried out in accordance to statutory and regulatory controls and guidelines.
    • Supervise the operation of the marine department to ensure the safe and efficient running of the rig.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor the weather conditions and rig motions advice OIM on conditions likely to affect drilling operations and seaworthiness of the rig.
    • Ensure that accurate calculation of load distribution and weights for daily stability reports are maintained.
    • Coordinate all helicopter and supply boats traffic - supervise movement of materials and personnel to and from the rig.
    • Ensure all navigation equipment is properly maintained and ready for use at all times.
    • Monitor quantities of expendables such as fuel, potable water, drill water, etc.
    • Ensure that cranes are in safe working condition.
    • Ensure all safety equipment, including lifeboats and fire-fighting equipment is maintained in a state of operational readiness at all times.
    • Actively participate in the daily operations meeting with the OIM and other rig department heads.
    • Operate and maintain the bulk system as required.
    • Supervise tests on fire fighting equipment, obstacle lighting and audible signals.
    • Ensure all lifting gears are inspected and certified, correctly colour coded, maintained, and stowed properly.
    • Prepare and supervise rig move plans, anchor patterns, and associated mobilization preparations.
    • For jack up rigs, prepare the pre-load calculations and carry out jacking operations taking note of weather and sea conditions.
    • Ensure that daily marine logs are accurate and completed. Forward copies of these reports to the shore-base office.
    • Ensure that all Flag State, Classification Society, statutory regulation, and minimum manning requirements are complied with.
    • Coordinate and supervise periodic inspections of the rig’s structure, including hull compartments and critical joints.
    • Assist in the effective management of the Preventive Maintenance System and ensure all records are properly maintained.
    • Supervise the operation and maintenance of pollution control system.

    EHSQ:

    • Prepare Job Safety Analysis for hazardous marine operations.
    • Ensure that the Company EHSQ policies and other programs are communicated to and understood by all rig personnel.
    • Play an active part in the weekly meetings, Quality Improvement Plan program, and all other Company safety management systems.
    • Review, understand and become familiar with the rig’s safety case.
    • Ensure new arrivals receive a full safety briefing and induction on the rig.
    • Ensure a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping is maintained onboard the rig.
    • Coordinate weekly emergency drills along with monitoring and evaluating the deck crew responses.
    • Perform assigned duties during emergency situations and emergency protection responses as designated on the station bill.

    Personnel:

    • Meets the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix.
    • Meets the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix
    • Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
    • Ensure proper and relevant communication with all personnel.

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Minimum of a High school diploma or its equivalent.
    • Solid work experience as a barge master and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications.
    • Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the safe operation of the marine aspect of the drilling unit.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates.
