    Finance and Administration Officer

    Overall Purpose

    Provide support in the execution of financial services of Agridrive Ltd and institutional administrative functions ensuring effective and transparent utilization of financial resources and integrity of financial services. The candidate will ensure the promotion of a client-oriented approach consistent with Agridrive Ltd rules and regulations. Support in preparation and maintaining of accurate, timely, complete and reliable periodical financial reports and ensure that all financial transactions comply with set company policies and procedures as well as development partners’ regulations.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Support on financial activities and financial recording/reporting system, update the Remote Imprest Fund (RIF), cash book and relevant management reports to the shareholder.
    • Assist in preparation of Agridrive Ltd financial reports for management & respective donors;
    • Assist in preparation of donor reports for Projects where Agridrive is a party, and any reports that may be required by Management in relation to the company. This includes maintaining a schedule of funds status for each partner.
    • Aid in computing and timely remittance of all payroll deductions and taxes.
    • Support the Agridrive Management in procurement through raising of requisitions for approval within the established support structure.
    • Support in allocation of staff personal account transactions and preparation of reconciliations.
    • Preparation and processing of customer invoices guided by the costing model and established support structures.
    • Maintain supplier, creditor and debtor register and update the same periodically, including updating accounts receivable/payable.
    • Support in providing personal account balances when requested by staff and /or on a monthly basis, whichever is earlier.
    • Support in project and company audits by preparing schedules and providing explanations and documentation to the auditors.
    • Preparation of documents necessary to process reimbursements / payments.
    • Assist in processing payments as appropriate including creation of payments in e-banking system and preparation of checks while ensuring all procedures are followed and that all supporting documents are attached and appropriately approved.
    • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations as may be required from time to time.
    • Perform independent cash counts of petty cash and record monthly petty cash counts.
    • Adherence to the systems and procedures to safeguard the Company’s fixed assets including the maintenance of complete accurate and up to date fixed assets register.
    • Undertake annual asset verification.
    • Collaboratively with the other finance staff, collect, code and enter financial data to the appropriate accounting software.
    • Maintain up to date electronic and manual filing system of supporting documentation for accounting records as per the requirements of the support structure.
    • Review and follow up on travel expense reports.
    • Provide filing support such as filing payment voucher and supporting documents in accounting files.
    • Provide briefing on expense report process to staff.
    • Perform other functions of the area as may be required from time to time.

    Minimum Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or other related subject; Masters degree qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • ACCA or equivalent qualifications and member of a professional accounting body.
    • Three (3) years’ experience in finance;
    • Knowledge of accounting packages such as SUN System, SAGE , Pastel, QuickBooks etc.
    • Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and various regional statutory requirements and their application; and
    • Knowledge of and ability to work with different financial controls, systems and regulations including taxation requirements, financial reporting requirements etc.
    • Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, linguistic, cultural and socio - economic backgrounds
    • Knowledge of grant accounting and experience in donor funding requirements

    Key Skills & Competencies

    • Knowledge of and ability to work with different financial controls, systems and regulations including taxation requirements, financial reporting requirements etc;
    • Strong financial management and accounting skills and business acumen;
    • Ability to work with different schedules and to meet stringent deadlines;

    General Manager

    Position Summary

    The General Manager will oversee and manage all business operations, people and ventures of a medium scale company involved in delivery of mechanization services and sale of agro-inputs in Nigeria. The General Manager will be responsible for improving profitability and efficiency while managing the company’s overall operations. He/She will oversee several elements in the business, including hiring and managing staff, overseeing operating budgets, and launching promotion and other strategies for business growth. The position will have responsibility for the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plan, building and maintaining an effective management team, engagement with key stakeholders, and assume full accountability to the Board for all company operations.

    Key responsibilities

    • Presiding over the day-to-day operations at the Company.
    • Develop and implement the strategic growth and operational plan to achieve overall revenue and volume targets in the different states as set out by the board of directors.
    • Provide strategic advice to the board of directors.
    • Seek and develop relationship with relevant Agric business owners with a view to harnessing businesses from there
    • Seek new businesses and develop strategic partnerships with similar agric businesses
    • P&L Management - deliver financial targets (net sales, gross profit, SG&A, Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), and free cash flow)
    • Implement an effective credit management strategy to support sustainable growth of the business.
    • Lead and be accountable for business planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
    • Lead a multifunctional team in developing and executing appropriate go-to-market approaches to achieve complementary commercial and social goals.
    • Attract, develop, manage, lead, and inspire a team to ensure consistent high performance, growth and retention of talent, and succession planning for key leadership and high impact roles.
    • Build effective relationships, maintain trust and partnerships with key business partners.
    • Serve as the custodian of company policies and lead in ensuring compliance to all business and related risk management measures.
    • Measure and leverage on data-driven competitive and market information (competition actions, market trends, satisfaction levels, commercial acceptance and regulatory issues).
    • Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with key external stakeholders including state and federal government agencies, regulators, farmer cooperatives, distribution partners, social partners.
    • Engage and provide technical advice to Agridrive Ltd clients regarding mechanization services and Agronomy.

    Requirements, Skills and experience

    • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role.
    • Experience in planning and budgeting.
    • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.)
    • Strong analytical ability.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance measures.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
    • Problem-solving aptitude.
    • At least a Master’s degree in agriculture/Agronomy/Agricultuiral Economics/business management/administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences or related discipline.
    • Proven ability in providing technical support to farmers/farm establishments.
    • Ten (10) years of progressive, senior level experience in business management gained in a reputable national or international organization, preferably in an agricultural environment.
    • Strong private sector experience and in-depth knowledge of the Agricultural Sector.
