    State Coordinator - Out Grower Program

    Job Description

    • Coordinate the activities of the out-grower scheme of the state and report daily activities to the National Coordinator
    •  Identify and Collate data for all the out-growers for Rice farmers in the state.
    • Providing Agricultural Extension Services related to Crop Protection, Good Agricultural Practices in coordination with other agencies
    • Undertake frequent travel across the state to visit farmers registered with the out-grower scheme and increase Olam Agri’s visibility with the farmers.
    • Coordinate crop evaluation trials within the state for adoption by the farmers
    • Organise and conduct training for extension agents and farmers across locations within the state in conjunction with the consultants.
    • Developing and maintaining strong, professional relationships with farmers to facilitate smooth produce collection and encourage ongoing participation in the program.
    • Able to create links between the farmers and input providers within and outside the state.
    • Ensuring that farmers understand and adhere to the quality standards and quantity specifications set by the company.
    • Provide support to the company procurement team for smooth off-taker of the products from the out-grower

    Requirements

    • The candidate must have B.Sc. or HND in Crop Production, Agronomy, Agric. Econ, Agric Extension, or related fields. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • The candidate must have 5 -10 years of field experience in farming operations, Our-Grower program, or extension activities.
    • Hands-on experience in the design and implementation of sustainable smallholder out-grower schemes in Nigeria.
    • Must be computer literate
    • Ability to speak local languages within the middle belt region will be an added advantage

    Production Manager

    Job Description

    • The Production Manager is tasked with executing the approved plan to meet the production volume, quality, and safety standards for the hazardous plant.
    • Coordination with the maintenance department is essential to implement the preventive maintenance plan and minimize process breakdowns.
    • Collaboration with the Safety Manager is required for all safety-related production and maintenance issues.
    • Alignment with the Technical team and Plant Manager is necessary for following up on improvements and modifications, as well as sharing process variables, issues, and recommendations to ensure safe operations

    Principal Accountabilities

    • The Production Manager is accountable for safety within the production department, ensuring that the production team and processes comply with safety regulations and norms.
    • Align with the Plant Manager to implement the production plan and related actions to meet volume and quality targets for oil and meal.
    • Organize material intake details with the shift in charge according to the production plan, and monitor the oil storage area to ensure timely oil transfer with confirmed quantity and quality.
    • Ensure that all daily and monthly reports on production, utility consumption, and maintenance downtime are prepared in a timely manner for submission to the Plant Manager.
    • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to execute all preventive maintenance plans and procure spare parts.
    • Monitor daily maintenance reports and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance and minimize plant downtime.
    • Ensure continuous development of all team members through training, coaching, and encouragement, with a particular focus on hazardous plant operations, compliance with HSE and GMP standards, and maintaining and improving internal process control, environmental management, and food and employee safety.
    • Investigate operational problems, analyze modification proposals from shift supervisors, and assist the Plant Manager in implementing these modifications for smooth operations.
    • Develop and periodically review plant SOPs to maintain healthy operations and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
    • Coordinate with the logistics and engineering departments to ensure a minimum stock of plant consumables.

    Requirements

    • Possess an Engineering Degree, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Production/Process Manager in large Solvent Extraction Plants with a capacity of over 1000 tons per day.
    • Experience with modern solvent extraction technology is considered an added advantage.
