    Human Resources Manager

    Job Summary

    • We are currently looking to fill the role of Human Resources Manager who will be responsible for Implementing HR policies and procedures of the Nigeria country office to ensure optimum HR performance and provide high-quality HR support to staff and programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Implement staff regulations and related policies; proposing change when necessary, in order to ensure ongoing compliance with national labour laws. Any adjustment of existing HR policies will require prior discussion with the Head of HR and the Operations Support Coordinator at the country level, and ratification by the HQ HR Advisor;
    • Assure that Action Against Hunger staff policies and procedures in addition to the Labor Laws of Nigeria are adhered to at the field level. Advise the Operations Support Coordinator and other managers on appropriate disciplinary action as situations arise;
    • Check and approve Payroll data from the field before submitting it to the Payroll Specialist at the country level for approval;
    • Follow up on annual leave planning and execution;
    • Implement the medical benefits policy: collect employee eligible dependent details and legal documents;
    • Update the base-specific contract calendar and ensure that timely renewals and notices are received by all;
    • Liaise with managers to initiate recruitment and ensure proper approval by HR and Finance;
    • Review recruitment requests and job descriptions (JDs) to ensure they are in line with the mission staffing plan;
    • Provide advice and assistance with writing JDs, ensure that accurate JDs are in place, maintain a library of Base JDs, technical tests, and interview grids, and work with the coordination team to develop and review these tools;
    • Compile monthly HR reports and submit a field HR sitrep to the Head of HR and the Operations Support Coordinator by a specific date every month;
    • Compile completed appraisals, update the performance appraisal tracking sheet at the field level as well as the annual training plan database, and submit them to the Head of HR at the country level for analysis and action.

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, or social sciences, or related discipline preferred.
    • Post Graduate qualification in Human Resource Manager will be an added asset;
    • At least 3 years of professional experience across all HR disciplines, including employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training and development, workers compensation and conflict resolution.
    • Experience in Managing HOMERE software system.
    • Must be comfortable explaining complex technical & procedural requirements in a non-technical manner.
    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (high proficiency in Excel); comfortable working with computers with minimal IT support.
    • Ability to work in a stressful environment, taking initiative & prioritizing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented.
    • Genuine interest in & commitment to the humanitarian principles of Action Against Hunger.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work both independently & as a member of a team.
    • Proven ability to model core HR values of confidentiality, fairness and discretion.

    Starting Basic Salary and Benefit

    • NGN812,290 monthly (excluding other benefits)

    Information Systems Manager

    Job Summary

    • We are currently looking to fill the role of Information Systems Manager who will be responsible for leading data gathering, collation and quality control activities to ensure the quality and accountability of the programs implemented by ACF in Northern Nigeria.

    Key Responsibilities

    • National focal person for management of Nutrition Information System (NIS) as well as supporting the remote management strategy of AAH Nigeria.
    • Manage AAH database to effectively control and archive program data.
    • Management of budgets related to IS in the projects and plan the activities and procurement requests.
    • Prepare, coach and execute the SOPs for data protection adhering to the policies of NPDR and GDPR.
    • Create, organize and archive maps using GIS software and maintenance of reference datasets for Action Against Hunger areas of operations;
    • Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including field observation, satellite imagery, and existing maps.
    • Manage response and prioritization of requests for map products and services;
    • Liaise closely with MEAL HoD and DHoDs to understand and support the welfare of MEAL staff at all regions to ensure good working conditions and performance enhancement.
    • Ensure proper training for MIS platforms users (RedRose, Kobo, Power BI, etc.) for AAH staff.
    • Support MIS officers in the bases for external stakeholders trainings (content development).
    • Evaluation of technical skills of MIS officers and assistants also supporting mentorship strategy of MEAL department.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Geography (GIS) or a related subject, with previous experience working in humanitarian projects.
    • A Minimum of 5 years of Management Information System related work experience.
    • Experience in database management and mapping.
    • Experience with mobile data collection methodologies, software and devices;
    • Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure;
    • Commitment to and understanding of Action Against Hunger aims, values and principles.
    • Excellent computer skills, particularly with MIS platforms.
    • Strong experience with cartography, infographics and other GIS platforms;
    • Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
    • Previous experience with Action Against Hunger or International NGO.
    • Experience and conversant with M&E systems, preferably in INGO.
    • Strong interpersonal and community norms understanding.
    • Experience with participatory fieldwork methodologies.
    • Fluency in English (both written and spoken skills).

    Starting Basic Salary and Benefit

    • NGN718,840 monthly (excluding other benefits)
