    Warehouse Forklift Operator

    We are looking for a candidate who is highly experienced with Forklift and warehouse operations, He or She will be responsible for the safe operation of a 5-ton forklift and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly routine checks of the forklift, whilst providing assistance with loading, offloading, sorting, and other warehouse operations/activities.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move and transport materials, products, and goods within the facility.
    • Load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas using forklifts and other equipment, ensuring that materials are handled safely and without damage.
    • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by tracking incoming and outgoing materials and products.
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Conduct pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report any issues to the supervisor.
    • Use forklifts to stack, palletize, and organize materials in an efficient and organized manner, optimizing storage space.
    • Ensure that materials are handled and transported in a way that preserves their quality and prevents damage.
    • Complete relevant paperwork and documentation related to material handling and inventory management.
    • Collaborate with other team members, including warehouse staff, supervisors, and other personnel, to ensure the smooth flow of materials and goods.
    • Perform routine maintenance on forklifts, such as refueling, oil changes, and cleaning, to keep them in good working condition.
    • Stay updated on forklift operating procedures, safety regulations, and best practices and provide training to new forklift operators as needed.

    Requirements

    Education: Minimum requirement of an Ordinary National Diploma

    Experience:

    • At least 3 years experience with a minimum of 2 years working in an inventory management-related role
    • Experience handling goods/equipment in an appropriate manner
    • Candidates with risk management & HSE experience are preferred

    Language Proficiency: English.

    • Knowledge of daily maintenance of forklifts.

    Structural Engineer

    Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent and experienced Structural Engineer. He or she will work with the Head of the Installation and Installation team to design/analyse roofs and structural support systems for solar projects.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Conduct structural inspection and analysis of commercial and industrial buildings.
    • Identify possible process gaps and manage the structural assessment process improvement.
    • Evaluate structural loads, wind load, and wind bearing capacity of various roof types.
    • Provide mentorship and training on structural assessment to project engineers.
    • Prepare foundation designs for solar arrays and related AC/DC equipment.
    • Support project managers in resolving structural loading issues.
    • Prepare calculations and drawings that demonstrate the structural soundness of roofs.
    • Gain a working knowledge of PV system components like modules, racks, inverters, and Balance of System (BOS).

    Working condition

    • Approximately 30% of time shall be spent in office environments with the remaining time in the field.

    Physical requirements

    • The Engineer shall be capable of lifting up to 20kg; stand for an extended period of time; and work in an outdoor environment.

    Requirements

    Education: 

    • M.Sc. Civil Engineering (Preferred)
    • B.Sc. Civil Engineering

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years of work experience in Civil engineering roles with specialisation in roofs.

    Project Engineer

    We are looking to engage competent and experienced Project Engineers to install, maintain and operate our large capacity sites in Nigeria. He or she will work with the Head of Installation to install PV inverters, commission new equipment, and increase customer satisfaction through quality service and professional behaviour.     Key responsibilities:

    Project Management

    • Developing project plans to execute sales contracts.
    • Designing and planning solar power installations.
    • Leading the supply chain process including sourcing and ordering parts internationally and locally.
    • Conducting quality assurance of technical installations of both Daybreak’s team as well as the installations of our technical partners.
    • Directing, coordinating, and supervising the installations of solar power solutions; and
    • Training clients on the operation and optimal utilization of systems

    Sales Engineering

    • Leading client conversations through emails, phone calls and in person meetings.
    • Performing energy audits on client sites.
    • Designing of PV systems (on grid, off grid, hybrid).
    • Developing sales proposals to drive the sales process.
    • Preparing and submitting tender documents (specifications, bill of quantities, drawings, etc.) and designs as per requirements.
    • Driving the full sales process from proposal drafting to contract execution; and
    • Working with the legal department in respect of all draft agreements in connection with your role.

    Service

    • Actively monitoring site performance and preparation of monthly reports for clients.
    • Resolving site issues remotely and through site visits; and
    • Ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Serving as the first line of contact for any client complaints.

    General

    • Implement standard operating procedures and HSE standards for solar installation work.
    • Review technological trends in the local and global energy sector.
    • Develop and coach technical staff.
    • Assist in market research and identify energy projects in Ghana.

    Working condition

    • Approximately 30% of time shall be spent in office environments with the remaining time in the field.

    Requirements

    • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Electrical Engineering roles and managing large scale and industrial projects in the solar industry (preferred) or power industry.
    • Professional Membership: Preferably a professional engineer with NSE, COREN and engineering certifications
