• A Hostel Parent is responsible for providing care, support, and supervision to students residing in the hostel.
• The role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment that fosters students' personal growth, well-being, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Care and Support: Provide emotional support, guidance, and mentorship to students, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
• Supervision and Safety: Ensure students' safety and well-being, enforcing hostel rules and regulations, and reporting incidents or concerns to management.
• Household Management: Assist with daily hostel operations, including supervising cleaning, laundry, and meal times.
• Communication: Liaise with students, parents, and staff to address concerns, provide updates, and promote a positive hostel environment.
• Boundary Setting: Establish and maintain healthy boundaries with students, promoting respect, discipline, and responsibility.
• Activity Planning: Organize and participate in activities that promote students' personal growth, socialization, and community engagement.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student behavior, incidents, and progress.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in student care or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

• Will be a resident in the student hostel.

Job Summary

• The suitable candidate will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students in the English language, literature, and communication skills, following the Cambridge curriculum.
• The role involves creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and fostering a love of reading and writing, with a focus on preparing students for Checkpoint, IGCSE, TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Teaching and Instruction: Teach English language, literature, and communication skills to students, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.
• Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and report on student achievement, including preparation for Checkpoint, IGCSE, TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT examinations.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that encourages active participation and learning.
• Literacy Development: Promote reading, writing, and literacy skills across the curriculum, encouraging students to develop a love of reading and writing.
• Examination Preparation: Prepare students for Checkpoint, IGCSE, TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT examinations, providing targeted support and guidance.
• Parent Communication: Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress, behaviour, and achievements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, or related field
• Teaching certification/qualification (e.g., PGDE, B.Ed.)
• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and examination formats (Checkpoint, IGCSE, TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT)
• Evidence of successfully preparing students for these examinations
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and abilities
• Patience, empathy, and creativity in teaching and learning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum
• Familiarity with examination board requirements and standards
• Track record of student success in Checkpoint, IGCSE, TOEFL, IELTS, and SAT examinations.
