    Head, Sales & Business Development (Fintech)

    Our client is the world’s leading source of business information and insights. They help companies improve their business performance through data and insights.


    This position will be based in Lagos, Nigeria. It will also involve travelling across the region.

    The ideal candidate:

    Will spearhead the Sales/Business Department and eventually groomed to head the Nigeria office.


    • Selling products / services within the our client's portfolio to all sectors nationwide within Nigeria.
    • Driving sales and maintaining consistent sales growth by continuously establishing new accounts. Relationship building and engaging with existing clients. Travelling across Nigeria to ensure that a strong foothold with existing clients.
    • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
    • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
    • Developing new business opportunities with potential clients at all stages of the sales cycle that include targeting, prospecting and presenting compelling business propositions. Preparing and presenting persuasive sales presentations that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of our client's products / services.
    • Maintaining a robust deal pipeline and effectively managing large scale, complex contract negotiations and closing new business deals with potential customers, working closely with the CEO. Collaborating with professional services and other support teams to ensure successful implementations.
    • Developing and executing a strategic business plan that meets or exceeds established sales goals and supports organization revenue and profitability targets. Preparing and delivering business reviews and presentations to the senior management team as and when required.



    • Over 10+ years of experience in sales / business development / account management in the B2B sectors with a preference for experience in the Services Sector, Banking/Financial Services or Fintech Industry.
    • Experience in managing relationships with C-level Executives.
    • Current / prior experience working with local Regulatory Authorities in the banking sector.


    • Graduate / Postgraduate (background in Economics/ Business Management / Administration/ Marketing/ Sales).

    Required Skills & Personal Attributes:

    • Ability to communicate, make presentations and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the company.
    • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to successful closure.
    • Capability to manage key customer accounts.
    • Conversant in understanding multiple industries, specifically banking in the areas of risk, credit and trade finance.
    • Understanding of business services such as information, data and analytics, ratings, research or compliance would be preferred.
