About the Role

• Provide technical expertise in the design and implementation of IT infrastructure solutions and end-user support services on Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and support to service providers, including TGITS ensuring that local context and environments, as well as local technical and business requirements are well understood and captured during solution design and deployment.
• Participate in the definition and evolution of the IT infrastructure strategy, systems, processes, roadmaps ensuring they meet both business and local performance goals in line with the Company’s IT strategy and Data Governance guidelines.
• Assist the IS Shared Services Manager in coordinating the delivery of IT projects in JV Asset ensuring that project plan, schedules, budgets, and objectives are adhered to. Recommend to IS Shared Services Manager the resources required to successfully deliver IT projects.
• Implement communication strategies to users about planned system evolutions and develop and implement necessary change management measures.
• Work in close collaboration with TGITS to ensure that IT production systems and end-users support services are optimally configured, administered, and aligned to best practices to protect production data and deliver the expected business values.
• Work with IS Shared Services Manager in ensuring that IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Service Requests management etc.) in JV Asset are optimally setup and that SLA targets and KPIs are achieved.
• Coordinate and manage daily the resolution of incidents, service requests, change requests, problems etc. ensuring minimal downtime to systems and services. Responsible for the provisioning of servers, PCs, peripherals and IT hardware in JV Asset.
• Report to relevant technical or hierarchical managers on significant points which hinder the proper functioning of IT systems and make them aware of problems.
• Work with the IS Shared Services manager to ensure proper management of JV Asset IT equipment inventory in the CMDB.
• Coordinate IT service delivery team and guiding them to achieve their mission and objectives.
• Ensure that staff and contractors comply with extant HSE procedures as well as maintain the confidentiality of information.
• Provision of IT infrastructure and User Support services in a very big, diverse, and demanding environment that includes users in multiple and disperse office locations, production sites and contractor locations as required by the Asset’s Oil and Gas projects. Complex IT architecture and systems, IT service management framework and governance structure.
• Very complex and challenging business environment due to low commodity prices, unfavorable fiscal policy, decreasing budget, stringent partner/regulatory requirements, dynamic and complex production environments, and anticipated delays in processing of contracts and purchasing needs.
• Provision of optimal IT server infrastructure administration and end-user support services is fundamental to the company’s future and digital transformation drive.
• Ensures that IT architecture and IT service framework are well-adapted to affiliate IT and business environments
• Supervises the day-to-day operations of IS Shared Services in JV Asset ensuring that IT projects, IT infrastructure services, and user-support services are optimally
• delivered to business and end-users. Responsible for the delivery of the departmental objectives in JV.
• Monitor and follow up with local and TGITS support teams to resolve incidents, service requests, change requests and or system failures.
• Responsible for the equipment inventory in JV Asset ensuring the protection and security of data.
• Familiarize self with Company’s emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
• Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.
• Carry out assigned duties safely according to Company’s HSE procedures in such a manner to minimize / eliminate unsafe exposure to self or fellow workers.

Requirements

• University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or its equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT with at least 5 years’ experience in IT service and infrastructure management with general understanding of O&G operations.
• Good communication skills, excellent organization and methods, and service delivery experience.
• Knowledge of IT services management (ITSM) is essential, working knowledge of French Language is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of IST Shared Services stock by monitoring minimum levels for all in-use stock items.
• Escalating shortage of inventory items to the relevant hierarchies.
• Play key role in regular IST Shared Services equipment / asset validation exercises.
• Responsible to review technical specification and evolution of the IST End-User assets, also for related configuration components, and advise hierarchy accordingly for requests / purchase purposes.
• Also play the role of decentralized buyer (with requested specifications), the receipt from supplying vendors of the correct items based on specifications and other acceptable conditions for use within Company’s E&P Nigeria.
• Supervises storage of the items and equipment; ensuring proper storage environment requirements are always met.
• Ensure proper documentation and regular updates of inventory records throughout its entire lifecycle.
• Ensure IST assets repairs are adequately carried out, including implementation of all assets warrantee requirements by supplying vendors where necessary.
• Play an oversite function on assets records on the CMDB are regularly updated, ensuring an accurate inventory is always maintained.
• Handle proper disposal of IST assets (e-wastes and other related IST equipment) following COMPANY’S approved processes, in conjunction with HSE and relevant regulations.
• Play a role in regular stock counting activities and provide regular reports with appropriate recommendations to handle any identified gaps or control issues that may arise.
• Monitor levels of asset support service performance, ensure detailed metrics and records are kept, analyzed, with escalation of appropriate recommendations for hierarchy review to implement.
• Supervise the Deep Water Shared Services Loan Pool activities and Loan equipment management.
• Actively participate to identify and recommend for implementation, Asset Management initiatives that will ensure proper monitoring and cost effectiveness. Participate to ensure consolidation & unification of IST Asset Management processes affiliate wide.
• Participate in the design, implementation, generation, continuous improvement, and collation of inventory management and Asset Support related reports.
• Ensure Company HSE and Security standards and rules are applied and always obeyed, and in all activities, as they relate to IST End-User Assets Support activities.
• Familiarize self with COMPANY’S emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
• Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.
• Carry out assigned duties safely according to COMPANY’S HSE procedures in such a manner to minimize / eliminate unsafe exposure to self or fellow workers.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science, Physical Science or Equivalent.
• 3 - 5 years experience in IT service management and asset management.
• Good understanding of Computer Hardware and their evolution.
• Must be firm and persuasive, have good communication and interpersonal skills, exhibit excellent analytical skills and high sense of integrity and organization, and be committed to the position.
• Knowledge of 1ST operations is essential.
