Major responsibilities
Financial Control:
- Manage all finance and accounting operations.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and reporting variances.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Keep up to date with finance and accounting standards and ensure compliance.
- Manage cash flow and ensuring quality control over financial transactions.
- Manage compliance with state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Risk evaluation and management:
- Analyze financial data for improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to finance policies and updating these as appropriate.
- Monitor and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Maintain company accounts, ledgers, and records. Oversee all company accounts and investments.
Admin and tech support:
- Troubleshooting issues with tech systems.
- Conduct general administrative duties such as travel arrangements, bookings, event planning, office arrangements, etc.
- Maintain and monitor computer networks and systems.
- Manage support functions including drivers, security, receptionists, etc.
Human Resource:
- Resolve issues between management and employees.
- Handle complaints and whistle-blower reports.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to company policies by staff.
- Provide advice to managers on improvement policies (equal employment opportunities, sexual harassment awareness, etc.
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring process of new staff.
- Monitor employee trainings in conjunction with partnerships and memberships department.
- Conduct new employee orientations.
- Participate in employee performance evaluations and maintain employee records. Develop the organization’s manpower and capacity development plans.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have at least 5 years of leadership and project management experience, knowledge of the Nigerian health sector and a high-level IT skill especially MS Word, PowerPoint & MS Excel.
- A chartered/certified accountant with strong organizational abilities

- Experience with overseeing the preparation of financial statements

Overall Objective
The Group CFO has responsibility for managing financial sustainability, driving financial performance, meeting financial requirements & maximising return on investment. The role will provide strategic financial advice to the Board of Directors and will play a pivotal role in formulating and implementing financial strategies to achieve the vision and financial performance strategies and measures for the our client group.
Responsibilities
- Providing strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors, CEO/Managing Director and members of the executive management team towards achieving the Group Vision
- Define the Group financial strategy, ensuring alliance with Group strategic objectives and ambitions/vision
- Developing and advising on short to long-term business and financial planning
- Establishing and developing relations with senior management, external partners, investors, brokers, financial advisors/consultants and stakeholders
- Managing all fund raising and acquisition of capital requirements to achieve the Group Vision
- Develop innovative funding strategies in line with the Our client Group business
- Provide financial insight in order to assist formulating and executing business strategy for the Group
- Proactively manage cash flows for the company and Group
- Develop financial strategies to optimize value for shareholders in businesses/business units which sit under the Our client Holding Company umbrella. This may include working towards converting them to subsidiaries when beneficial for Our client
- Manage capital requirements; communicate capital requirements/implications of business decisions to CEO and BOD
- Ensure proactive initiatives for optimum capital expenditure and taxation
- Attend meetings of the Boards of Directors; Finance, Audit, and Strategy Committees of Our client and other companies in the Group. Responsible to provide reports and present the company’s finances to these committees and the Boards
- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly financial reporting of companies in the Group
- Effectively and proactively manage all financial advisory relationships
- Contribute to the Group’s strategic direction and particularly from a finance perspective
- To develop financial strategies which optimize maximum value for all stakeholders.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors, Group Managing Director, Managing Directors of subsidiaries and members of the executive management team towards achieving the Group Vision
- Provide financial insight in order to assist formulating and executing business strategy for the Group
- Develop and ensure effective Service Level Agreement management with all third-parties associated with Finance and Accounts functions
- Provide a financial platform for measurement and accountability across the Group
- Prepare and present financial business plans for various purposes
- Provide a monthly report of sources and utilization of funds for the Group with oversight function of banking mandates of all companies in the Group
- Continually assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy and vision
- Ensure most optimum financial utilization of company assets – Getting value for our assets
- Any other duty assigned.
Finance Function
- Managing lenders, bankers, shareholders and investor relationships.
- To provide monthly and periodic reports of sources and utilization of funds for the Group with oversight function of banking mandates of all companies in the Group
- Manage capital requirements; communicate capital requirements/implications of business decisions to CEO and BOD
- Preparing and presenting proposals to potential lenders, venture capitalists, bankers and equity financiers.
- Identifying sources of funds and funding requirements (On-shore and Off-shore).
- Securing facility that meets business requirements.
- Overall reduction in cost of funds and costs associated with doing business.
- Developing effective cash flow management strategy and execute same.
- Managing local and foreign supplier relationship to ensure optimum value
- Preparation and presentation of the annual budget.
- Optimization of company assets to generate revenue
Accounts and Taxation Function
- Managing external auditors’ and tax consultant relationships
- Ensure that financial reports meet minimum standards set by regulatory bodies
- Implement a uniform and standardized accounting package across the Group, including processes
- To ensure financial reporting compliance within the timeline set by the regulatory bodies
- To ensure accurate and precise management reporting across the Group
- To ensure the submission of all required returns in terms of regulatory authority requirements
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant as a minimum, with an MBA (preferable)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years as a GCFO in a major commercial/corporate company – A Public company would be preferable
- Experience as a ‘Group’ GCFO – Group of companies with subsidiaries and investment companies
- Experience in developing and managing innovative funding instruments across a group of companies
- Experience in managing public company financial statutory requirements

- Financial reporting to be ready by 7th of the month after each quarter
