    Head, Engineering

    Purpose of Job

    • The Head, Engineering reports to the GM OPS and is responsible for overseeing & co-coordinating all Engineering functions; including the design, construction and maintenance of Architectural and Engineering structures, Terminals, Retail Outlet, VMIs & other installations.
    • In addition the Head, Engineering is responsible for end to end cycle of Engineering Projects and Services' Policy articulation in line with the strategic imperatives of the organization, identification and analysis of the technical business support needs and overall effective management of all Engineering activities.
    • The position incumbent has the on-site supervisory responsibility of ensuring hitch free Retail, VMIs and Terminal operational activities at all locations nationwide through effective formulation of Maintenance Policy / strategy plus Technical guidance to the Projects, Technical Services & Maintenance teams with prompt Engineering Project delivery.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Formulate policies and procedure for process control and utilization of company Facilities and Equipment
    • Ensure that the service delivery of Projects, Technical Services & Maintenance units meet agreed standards and that agreed customer satisfaction levels are achieved.
    • Ensure that all Managers and Unit heads / Engineers within the Department have agreed objectives, performance reviews, coaching and appraisals.
    • Prepare, agree and manage the operating budget for the Engineering Department.
    • Understand future business needs, prepare and implement Engineering Department strategy to meet those needs
    • Responsible for the liaison with all of the internal customers to agree service deliverables.
    • Engineering service standards compliance management
    • Customer Service standards compliance management
    • Engineering Supply Chain Management
    • Oversight responsibility for the end-end life cycle of all projects and activities
    • Conducts Standards Checks in Retail Outlets, VMIs Terminals & Jetties. Checks should cover EHSQ, inspections as well as supervision adequacy.
    • Ensures Reports of Controls & Standards Checks are timely submitted within and all actions followed up with action parties until they are closed.
    • Ensures pending actions that have failed deadline are escalated to concerned GM OPS

    Academic Qualifications & Work Experience

    • Minimum First Degree in Engineering (2.2 )
    • Professional membership is an advantage  
    • Must be a Registered Engineer (NSE & COREN or equivalent)
    • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in oil and gas downstream engineering projects and maintenance, at least 2 of which must be in a managerial capacity or equivalent role in a reputable organization.
    • Must have proven direct participation in FEED and execution for at least 2 major engineering projects valued at min. N200m each.

    Head, Retail Sales

    Purpose of Job 

    • The Head, Sales is responsible for providing strategic and policy direction and managing the overall performance of the Sales team.
    • The incumbent’s sole responsibility is to provide policy direction for the sales force towards the attainment of corporate objectives through the development of marketing and sales vision & mission.
    • He/ She is also responsible for ensuring profitable returns on all company products sold through the various SBUs.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Evaluate, monitor and respond to market trends, environmental changes, political and social implications, competitor activities and consumer preference with a view to grow market share in all product lines year on year.
    • Develop strategies for the upgrade of our retail outlets, structures and equipment for improved sales.
    • Develop strategies and plans for the promotion of products and service offerings.
    • Manage and increase profitability of all products sold.
    • Build a high performing sales force with thorough understanding and appreciation of the downstream petroleum market.
    • Ensure the attainment and compliance to our Corporate Credit strategy.
    • Provide leadership to the regions for effective performance and profit contribution.
    • Oversee regional operations activities and ensure regions get adequate support to achieve assigned volume targets
    • Develop marketing strategies for the achievement of increased products revenue targets, decreased operational cost as well as achievement of departmental targets.
    • Plan, direct and coordinate customer service strategies and manage customer relationships
    • Ensure full compliance to Control and Standard and EHSSQ policies as pertaining to sales
    • Give executive attention to all CASOM action points and drive to closure within timelines.
    • Ensure every member of your team is CASOM compliant.
    • Plan, Lead/ assist in aggressive monitoring and auditing of EHSSQ critical assets such as plants, terminals, LPG, Retail outlets and other installations to prevent all unsafe conditions and practices by employees and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure the deployment and full implementation of Business Continuity Strategies (disaster recovery) such as Emergency Response, Oil Spill Contingency Plan and monitor compliance via drills.
    • Liaise with HEHSSQ/ monitoring agencies and ensure compliance with the company's EHSSQ Statutory requirements such as Licenses/Permits etc.

    Academic Qualification & Work Experience 

    • A good university degree (preferably with a Masters)  
    • Minimum of 12 - 15 years’ experience in a Marketing/Sales function in the oil & gas industry
