    Group General Manager

    JOB OVERVIEW

    The group general manager is a top management position, as such, the role requires an individual with strong analytical knowledge, competence, experience in previous position, team builder, result-oriented strategist, opportunity identifier, motivator and strong financial analyst and team player. The position requires someone with a proven track of managing and coordinating similar position, which have led to increased profitability.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Develop strategic long- and short-term plans and provide a path to drive the implementation.
    • Spearhead the profitability, growth and sustainability drive of the group.
    • Exercise regular control role by reviewing the group’s strategic plans to ensure all partners are aligned to the corporate goal and objective of the group.
    • Organize and review processes, oversee partners activities, build trust, establish a highly motivational work environment, and create innovative approaches to the attainment of the group vision.
    • Promote the groups values and philosophy to the entirety of the group’s partners, while also supervising the group’s departmental heads.
    • Create appropriate team structure for operational functional roles in the group and evaluate their continued sustainability.
    • Develop, review and assess the standard operating procedures of the group, the team’s objective and key results (OKR) for individual.
    • Chair the budgetary defence of teams and SBUs in the group, and also review the budget to ensure it is sufficient to support the group’s overall growth and development.
    • Develop expansionary strategies that ensures growth of the group’s financial and investment portfolios.
    • Provide regular feedbacks to the group’s functional teams on their performance relatively to the overall goal and objective.
    • Responsible for policy implementation, budgetary and resource allocation plans of the group.
    • Promote a corporate culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

    • First degree and a Master's degree (Preferably MBA).
    • Minimum 15 years’ experience (at least 5 of which must have been in managerial capacity with at least 2 in senior managerial positions).
    • Member of professional certification is required.
    • Experienced managing multidisciplinary teams across HR, Admin, IT, corporate communications, facility management and procurement.
    • In-depth knowledge of finance and budgetary principles, metrics, systems and procedures.
    • Proven track record of ensuring the profitability of an organisation.
    • Demonstrable competence in strategic planning, organizing, control and staffing.
    • Commitment to ethical standards and high level of personal and professional integrity.
    • Strong cognitive and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply technical knowledge to implement the groups corporate objectives.
    • Effective leadership and excellent people management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in use of computer software.

    Group Head, Business Enterprises

    GENERAL OVERVIEW

    The role of a Group Head, Business Enterprises is responsible for implementing and managing the technical and commercial aspects of the Group’s. It is profit and income generating Successful candidate will be responsible for management of the Group’s investment interests and concerns as well as coordinate research and development activities supporting business diversification and new product development.

    Job Description

    • Collaborate with executive management in developing and driving operational strategy through appropriate processes, infrastructure and systems.
    • Manage the business portfolio of the group in line with the groups strategic goal and objectives.
    • Steer the entrepreneurial sub-units of the group towards increased profitability.
    • Responsible for bringing new businesses that would drive the growth and sustainability of the group.  
    • Design effective tools to track efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes.
    • Ensure achievement of business development targets and objectives of the Group are met, including in relation to revenue generation and client/customer retention.
    • Ensure effective contract administration that allows for effective contractor/vendor management to guarantee clients’ utmost satisfaction.
    • Implement and assist in the development, review and maintenance of various policies relating to operations and business development.
    • Provide direction, leadership and support to ensure delivery of all the Group’s projects on time, quality and within budgets.
    • Drive a project culture that emphasizes comprehensive documentation, regular progress reporting and compliance with standards and regulations.
    • Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of projects in order to achieve established quality management objectives.
    • Ensure professional management of relationship with regulatory bodies, clients, technical partners, contractors and other stakeholders.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related disciplines with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
    • Minimum of 15 years’ cognate experience.
    • Proven experience in a similar role.
    • In-depth understanding of business opportunity identification, contract management, tenders/bids.
    • A certified project management professional with cognate experience.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
    • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
    • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent people management skills.
    • Knowledge of diverse business functions.
    • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
    • Demonstrable competence in strategic planning and business development.
    • Commitment to ethical standards and high level of personal and professional integrity.
