    Aircraft Procurement Manager

    Job Summary

    • Conducts the procurement of parts, spares, tools and goods for UNA.
    • Conduct procurement activities to ensure that spare parts are procured under the optimal conditions for UNA and from reliable sources, as well as participate in the development and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Ordering and procurement of aircraft spare parts materials, tools and equipment. Participate in financial evaluations of aircraft spare parts, required vendor correspondence and contract preparation etc.
    • Responsible for sourcing, vendor selection and evaluation of negotiable terms and conditions, placing purchase orders, screening and approving invoices charges related to the purchase of materials, spares, tools and equipment
    • Implement & follow up with the foreign and local requisitions for aircraft spare parts, tools & equipment supplies within the approved budgets and ensure on-time delivery with the minimum costs for all items within purchasing cycle.
    • Coordinate with the stores and the engineering departments to maintain the optimum level of inventory based on the review of aircraft spare parts and below-minimum order reports on a regular basis.
    • Ensure immediate and adequate response to AOG-related issues
    • Repair Order Management – follow up with the repair agency for completing the job and return the component to UNA at the earliest possible time and best price. Work towards reducing the turnaround time.
    • Participate in the development of procurement policies and procedures based on theeffective procurement policy of UNA business needs and any relevant external regulations.
    • Prepare and maintain the preferred vendors’ lists to ensure that aircraft spare parts are procured from the best offer providers and within the optimal time frame.
    • Negotiate prices and terms of conditions for the aircraft spare parts to be procured to ensure that UNA’s interests are best represented and the best offers are received.
    • Ensure the delivery of aircraft spare parts purchased as well as liaise with vendors to resolve any logistics-related issues.
    • Check that any initiated requests for procurements are in line with the approved unit budgets (or are approved) or facilitate the approval process.
    • Document transactions on the WINAIR system and ensure proper controls and approvals are in place.
    • Document a transparent purchase ordering process for aircraft spare parts and equipment including requisitions and approvals.
    • Respond to quotes from Vendors and ensure quotes are sent within agreed timeframes.
      Conduct follow-ups on orders that are carried out and parts received.
    • Negotiating and administering warranty and customer support agreements with OEM’s and vendors.
    • Controlling of all shipping and transportation i, customs clearance and collection from cargo bonds of materials from vendors and overhaul agencies to UNA
    • Enhance manpower capabilities with the procurement unit and increase their skills
    • Assisting in the evaluation and costing and of the introduction of new aircraft and equipment and liaise directly with aircraft manufacturers and Buyer Furnished
      Equipment (BFE) suppliers;
    • Assisting in the evaluation and costing of the introduction of second-hand aircraft
    • Assisting in the evaluation and costing of the return of aircraft off-lease;
    • Report and channel all problems and challenges encountered in the course of work to the Director of Engineering & Maintenance for further directive.
    • Perform such other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering & Maintenance.

    Job Attribute Required Skills

    • Degree in Business Administration or related field with at least 7 years of experience in Aircraft spare parts Procurement in Airlines or MRO
    • Good exposure to Aircraft Spares and Material Procurement in Airlines or MRO
    • Experienced in setting up a Functional Procurement Team/Department, establishing workflows, and operating procedures.
    • Post Graduate Degree will be an added advantage

    Station Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Station Manager is to ensure on-time performance of all domestic, Regional and international flights, transit passenger, baggage, cargo and aircraft activities with the highest standard of service and efficiencyrendered to passengers and customers of the airlines with safety, security and on-time departure being top priority.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Oversees all aspects of the station’s operations ensuring safe, punctual, efficient and smooth operations.
    • Assumes direct responsibility for his Station Agents, Customer Service Agent, Security Staff,
    • Ticketing and Reservation Officers, Dispatcher, Ramp Agent, Driver, and Catering Officer) Checkin Agent and Baggage Handlers etc)
    • Directs all activities related to Station Operations and Coordinates all functions to ensure superior customer service, operational integrity, and positive employee relations.
    • Develops schedules ensuring cost compliance and allocating needed resources
    • Ensures customer service representatives are fully trained, and knowledgeable and provide superior customer service.
    • Ensures compliance with all UNA Ground Operation Manuals, Load Manuals, Station Manuals and other documents relevant to the management of the station.
    • Ensures compliance with International, Federal, State and Local Aviation Regulations
    • Identifies and manages station problems, investigates and provides recommendations for operational efficiency for Management
    • Makes yearly plans and budgets for the station. Negotiates and manages airport-specific contracts, and quotations and follows up service compliance in accordance with the existing contracts.
    • Initiates service recovery efforts in the event of operations irregularities in cooperation with Operational Dispatch.
    • Verifies and approves all station-related invoices and reports any mistakes accordingly.
    • Involves in station staff recruitment, initiatives disciplinary hearings, training, development and motivational exercises for station staff
    • Provides leadership and guidance to the ground handling agents and UNA staff
    • Represents UNA at all Airport related functions, and meetings and liaise with the airport authority and governmental offices.
    • Ensures company brand and values compliance
    • Ensures weekly meetings with the station team
    • Ensures team in the station
    • Complete quarterly and annual appraisal and staff assessment and make recommendations and submit to the HR Dept.
    • Maintain excellent relationships with Aviation Authorities-NCAA, FAAN, NAMA and NIMET and others-bankers, hotels, car hires etc submit to FAAN, NAMA, and NCAA all relevant official documents required by regulation.
    • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.

    Baggage Handler

    Job Summary

    • The Baggage Handler will be in charge of baggage, cargo and mails.
    • He/she will report to the Station
    • Manager and is assigned the responsibility of exercising efficient and effective handling of all the baggage, cargo and mails on all United Nigeria Airlines flights.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Supervising and coordinating all baggage, cargo and mails at the station.
    • Receiving all checked – in baggage at the check -in counter
    • Send and sort out of checked -in baggage into the baggage trolleys
    • Ensure movement out of the baggage to the aircraft for loading after due identification by the respective Bonafede         passenger
    • The movement of arrival baggage from the aircraft to baggage hall for passenger identification
    • Supervise baggage services such as Lost & Found
    • Being vigilant at assigned location/duty post
    • Pay attention to baggage questioning to passenger
    • Handle passenger baggage with care, not to drag or throw baggage
    • Report any suspected Dangerous Goods in any passenger baggage
    • Make sure the excess baggage charge corresponds to the weight
    • Ensure baggage are tracked and processed on flights
    • Ensure correct baggage tagging/labeling
    • Report and bring to notice of the passenger discrepancies as per baggage condition and weight

    Security Operative

    Job Summary

    • Protection/guarding of lives (staff, aircraft, equipment, valuables facilities, documents, baggage (checked), mail, cargo, etc.) at the Airport.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Assist in prevention of crime including sabotage and acts of unlawful interference, etc.
    • Apprehension of offenders in collaboration with other authorities.
    • Patrolling the beats and report to the supervisor.
    • Recording of ad-hoc duty calls’ procedures and their execution during duty hours.
    • Guarding of the aircraft at the apron.
    • Recording of incident reports.
    • Ensuring that passengers’ baggage is not tampered with.

    • Manning such areas as required by Standard Operating Procedures.

    • Processing of firearms for security agents travelling on board our aircraft.
    • Ensuring that catering items going on board our aircraft are subjected to necessary security checks.

    Job Summary

    • The Driver shall be responsible for driving staff on official assignments and delivering packages to clients in a timely manner, working on nights and weekends and ensuring that vehicles are always ready for use, among other duties.

    Job Summary

    • The Customer service/ticketing agent provides all necessary help and support to passengers as required, which may include check in, baggage processing, reservations and ticketing, boarding of flights, provide special passenger assistance, handle customer complaints and other duties as assigned.
