    Digital Campaign Strategist

    About The Role

    • We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Digital Campaign Strategist to lead our social media channels and digital campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of running successful campaigns on WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. This role requires an individual with experience in political campaigns or movement-building through digital means. Creating engaging content, understanding market dynamics, and messaging directly to all our stakeholders is crucial.
    • The Digital Campaign Strategist will be responsible for developing content, providing strategic advice, and setting significant benchmarks for success. This includes treating each program as an individual political campaign, focusing on building momentum and engagement through digital channels. The successful candidate will also engage key stakeholders, including government officials, educators, donors, and the general public, through targeted social media campaigns designed for both NewGlobe and its individual programs.
    • A central goal of this role is to drive grassroots engagement with our government programs and to collect and amplify moments of impact through compelling storytelling and showcasing data driven outcomes.

    What You Will Do

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with NewGlobe's goals and objectives, treating each program as an individual political campaign aimed at building momentum through digital engagement.
    • Plan and execute proactive social media campaigns for NewGlobe and its programs, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all channels.
    • Create high-quality, engaging content for various social media platforms, including WhatsApp, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and others.
    • Design and manage WhatsApp campaigns to effectively engage target audiences and build movements around our educational initiatives.
    • Develop tailored messaging to effectively address the needs and interests of various stakeholder groups, including government officials, educators, donors, and the general public. Engage these stakeholders through targeted social media campaigns designed for both NewGlobe and its individual programs.
    • Provide strategic advice on digital communication and social media trends to senior management and program leaders, focusing on strategies that build movements and drive engagement.
    • Develop and implement benchmarks for success, including engagement metrics, follower growth, and content performance. Tailor these benchmarks to the unique objectives of each program and continually refine them based on data-driven insights.
    • Analyse and report on the effectiveness of social media campaigns, using data-driven insights to inform future strategies. Provide detailed reports that highlight key performance metrics and areas for improvement.
    • Identify opportunities for cross-promotion and collaboration with partners, influencers, and stakeholders. Leverage these relationships to enhance the impact of our campaigns and broaden our reach.
    • Use social listening tools to monitor online conversations about education and NewGlobe's programs.

    What You Should Have

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in managing social media channels and digital campaigns, preferably with a background in political campaign management. The ideal candidate will have experience building movements through digital strategies, whether in government roles or for political candidates aiming to mobilise support around key issues.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms, WhatsApp, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and others, tools, and best practices.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to create engaging content, including text, images, and videos.
    • Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools.
    • Graphic design skills with experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator; InDesign; Photoshop), online communications tools, and Office and Mac apps.
    • Video editing ability, familiarity with Adobe Premiere.
    • Experience in managing websites using WordPress and Elementor
    • Solid understanding of SEO and optimising websites to improve organic engagement

    Regional Director, Academics

    • The Regional Director, Academics works with Managing Directors in each territory to ensure that all Academic Directors have a clear and focused work plan. This includes ensuring that each territory has an up-to-date Academic Plan for each academic year, setting quarterly goals for the Academic Director to execute the Academic Plan, and holding Academic Directors accountable in achieving their goals.
    • The Regional Director, Academics in collaboration with the Managing Director, also ensures that Academic Directors and their counterpart Schools Directors effectively advocate for the academic programme of work in their territory. This includes ensuring that academic outcomes are a central part of all conversations around school support and operations. In the case of government partnerships, this also includes working directly with government stakeholders in Ministries of Education or State Boards of Education. The Regional Director, Academics supports Academic Directors to collect relevant input, engage in continuous dialogue, and generate buy-in for core elements of the academic programme.
    • Finally, the Regional Director, Academics ensures that there is strong coordination and clear communication between each territory and Shared Services regarding academic programming. She or he facilitates processes and conversation necessary for smooth execution of each territory’s academic program to happen within a large matrix organization.

    This facilitation should ensure that:

    • all levers of achievement are robust and contextualized for the territory
    • all schools have the right operational conditions for learning to take place
    • data is foundational to advocacy and engagement while supporting governments to gain insights and clarity

    What you will do

    • Ensure that Directors, Academics have a clear and focused work plan oriented around the Academic Plan. These Academic Plans must be created, reviewed, and approved before the launch of each academic year - the Regional Director, Academics must make certain that Directors, Academics are delivering on this every year
    • Manage Academic Directors to ensure that the academic programmes within the Academic Plan are high-value and will lead to outsized learning gains, but also that these programmes fit within the broader organisational context in the territory
    • Support Academic Directors to become owners of the academic programmes in their territories. This includes providing training on core principles and systems, and also coaching on effective troubleshooting and ongoing management systems
    • Empower Academic Directors to become persuasive advocates for their academic programmes, including in internal conversations and also with external government partners
    • Facilitate strong coordination and communication between each territory’s Academic Director and Shared Services
    • Ensure that Academic Plans are managed using standardised systems across territories, even though those Academic Plans themselves are contextualised and unique to each territory
    • Ensure that Academic Directors thoroughly review and provide input on all new content in their programme; this review and input process should be informed by the Academic Director’s expertise, which the Regional Director, Academics will cultivate
    • Help Academic Directors to manage urgent or high stakes requests that require additional resources or expertise
    • Establish and guide additional streams of work with an Academic Director’s portfolio, including high-priority initiatives like strengthening pupils’ post-primary readiness and facilitating more effective transitions to secondary school.

    What you should have

    • The Regional Director, Academics must be a data-driven individual with experience developing and managing cultures of high performance and high expectations. You must be a great academic leader who understands exceptional instruction and can motivate and support others in realizing a vision of academic excellence. Ideal candidates have worked in organizations with a proven track record of generating large learning gains.

    Software Quality Assurance Engineer

    About The Role

    • We are looking for a full time Quality Assurance Engineer to join our new Lagos, cross-functional software development teams, which will build the software that powers and improves our platform of educational tools. The Lagos team will have a special focus on the parts of the system that are more customer facing, experimental, or strategically important. The key to the QA role on our teams is being a divergent thinker with a curious mind - a collaborator with developers in building great software, not an adversary, nor an order taker.

    What You Will Do

    • Collaborate with team members and business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria for software development projects, including participation in the design and estimation of new software to ensure that testing is not an afterthought
    • Create and execute testing plans that include an appropriate combination of manual and automated testing, carefully reporting issues using structured tools and standards
    • Advocate for a culture of automation and repeatability - and then get your hands dirty to make it a reality
    • Follow testing practices to ensure the functional correctness, usability, scalability, and security of NewGlobe software
    • Help resolve “works on my machine” automated testing issues by pairing with our software developers to run down environmental, network, or other complicating factors
    • Deliver and manage automated testing tools for the constantly evolving needs of our various software platforms, including a range of web and mobile applications running across a variety of devices
    • Integrate automated testing tools into build pipelines to promote a culture of continuous delivery
    • Participate in the design, rollout, and use of monitoring tools in order to identify and resolve issues and ensure continuous integration of data into warehouses
    • Devise approaches for validating and monitoring off-the-shelf and third-party software
    • Participate in the design and use of application monitoring tools to reduce mean time to response and to maximise uptime
    • Provide third-line technical support to in-house users

    What You Should Have

    • Bachelor's degree with excellent academic performance
    • 4+years overall commercial software experience at the enterprise level
    • Experience with different testing tools and patterns, such as contract testing for APIs and end-to-end testing for apps. Proficiency with other types of testing, such as load testing, penetration and security testing, or usability testing a major plus
    • Comfort with both Windows and Linux/Ubuntu
    • A desire to learn new tech stacks and frameworks - if you’ve only got experience in a particular platform and you think that makes it the right answer, NewGlobe is not right for you

    Nice to haves:

    Regional Project Director

    About The Role

    The Regional Project Director is responsible for operational excellence through the tracking and evaluation of relevant activities, project performance and operational KPIs in multiple programmes. This is done via the co-management and support of Project Directors and the Regional School Inspection Director.

    • The Regional Project Director is 100% responsible for directing the workflow of Project Directors in support of the program’s deliverables. This includes ensuring that the project director in each programme has an up-to-date Operational Calendar for each academic year, provides thought leadership and support to the MD and fellow directors across multiple departments, is delivering on strategic projects, fosters a culture of accountability and provides leadership to the school inspection director and team - essentially the regional project director holds Project Directors accountable for achieving their goals.
    • The Regional Project Director is the line manager to the Regional School Inspection Director and in this capacity is tasked with ensuring that the school inspection function is delivering valuable, actionable data to each programme.
    • Additionally, the Regional Project Director ensures that there is strong coordination and clear communication between each programme and Shared Services regarding operational excellence. The Regional Director leads projects, designs and facilitates processes, and champions conversations necessary for the successful execution of each programme’s operations within a large matrix organisation.

    This role reports to the Vice President, Operations and Group Managing Director.

    The Project Director Function

    • Project Directors are multifaceted individuals who work closely with the Managing Director to ensure that “the trains run on time” and that there are no delays. They are project managers, and implementers who drive operational excellence by ensuring key milestones and activities across multiple departments are delivered on time and at a high quality. Project Directors are also tasked with improving programme execution by leading strategic initiatives for the Managing Director and leadership team. This is a highly hands-on and analytical role, involving intense program management. In addition to ensuring delivery and coordination through the Operational Calendar, there may be additional projects assigned by the Regional PD, or by the MD, time allowing.
    • Project Directors report to the Managing Director as their line manager, and the Regional Project Director as their functional lead.
    • School Inspection Department: Project Directors are the line managers of the School Inspection directors/managers. School Inspection is the auditing function of our school operations (facilities, materials & supplies, personnel and processes) against our set of standards and policies to ensure all schools maintain an environment where teaching and learning thrive. School Inspection ensures compliance with procedural requirements through frequent school observation visits and audits of school operations.
    • School Inspection Directors report to the Project Director as their line manager, and to the Regional School Inspection Director as their functional lead. Regional School Inspection Directors report to the Regional Project Director.

    What You Will Do

    • Functional lead for Project Directors
    • Hire, onboard, and provide technical support, coaching and performance management of project directors in partnership with the Managing Directors
    • Ensure that Project Directors have a clear and focused work plan oriented around the Operational Calendar. The operational calendar must be created, reviewed, and approved before the start of each academic year in collaboration with all other directors. The Project Director then makes certain that fellow directors and managers are delivering on milestones and activities on schedule
    • Manage the Project Director to ensure that the activities in their operational calendars and the strategic initiatives they’re leading are delivered to a high quality throughout the course of the year. This entails training and coaching Project Directors to become extreme owners of the operational delivery of their programmes by ensuring that they deeply understand the responsibilities of various functions, our core principles and systems so that they can be effective thought partners to various leaders and effective troubleshooters of when processes and management systems fail
    • Facilitate strong coordination and communication between each programme’s Project Director and Shared Services
    • Ensure that Project Directors are using (and adapting where needed) standardised templates, tools, and processes that have been developed using the decades-long experience and expertise of leaders within the organisation so that programmes do not lose time or fail to meet an acceptable standard of delivery when they attempt to reinvent the wheel.
    • Identify knowledge gaps among project directors and provide training or partner with other leaders within the organisation to provide the required training
    • Line manager of regional school inspection director
    • Support the Regional School Inspection Director to oversee that the School Inspection Function (our audit team) is driving compliance to school policies and processes at the school level, uncovering challenges to implementation of the programme at school level, and providing high quality actionable audit data to the project director and managing director to inform improvements to progamme implementation so that teaching and learning thrives.
    • Own operational & management tools and processes that drive programme success (Continuous improvement)
    • Contribute to the design, then own and maintain a suite of tools and playbooks around how we operate NewGlobe programmes including but not limited to operational calendars, department work plans, meeting templates, project Gantt charts and more, which are implemented on a day-to-day basis in-programme by the project directors
    • During engagements with project directors, identify issues and risks related to programme implementation in a timely manner, and suggest appropriate process improvements to the MDs and Vice President Operations.
    • Play a leadership role within group operations
    • Lead strategic company-wide initiatives within Shared services, or play a role as an executive sponsor including providing the vision, day-to-day coordination, resource management, and supervision required to accomplish project objectives
    • Ensure appropriate follow-through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by the Vice President Operations by working with the parties responsible for implementation
    • Act as one of the leaders within group operations which interfaces with numerous other functions by supporting the initiatives of fellow leaders within shared services and territories to ensure successful strategic and operational delivery
    • GMD Support
    • Act as point of contact and liaison across NG Shared Services and Programme Executive leadership for all matters escalating to the GMD for support.
    • Oversee a broad variety of operational tasks and strategic initiatives for the GMD including facilitating and tracking Group NG leadership meetings and action items; arranging complex collaborative syncs between Global Shared Services, Regional Shared Services and Programmes to deep-dive on specific agenda items; following through to ensure achievement of objectives
    • Demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust and support across the leadership teams
    • Manages special projects assigned by the GMD
    • Maintains confidentiality on all Executive work issues as required.
    • Other responsibilities as determined by the Vice President, Operations.

    What You Should Have

    • A bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record. Quantitative undergraduate degrees and advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred
    • 8+ years of experience including 5 years of management experience in reputable companies from which you have outstanding records of professional achievement. You should have experiences that required highly independent work in an exceedingly challenging metric-driven organisation such as in management consulting, finance or a high-growth start-up
    • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment. You should have a proven track record of working strategically and collaboratively with senior leaders across different functional areas. This experience should include directly supervising professional staff.
    • A proven track record of excelling in the leadership of operational teams, as well as in design-thinking, process and system design and application, managing complex and inter-related functions
    • Excellent project management skills including keen attention to detail, being incredibly organised with calendars, Gantt charts, trackers, and having the ability to systematically follow up on a broad set of decisions, projects and strategic initiatives
    • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, operations, HR, supply chain, customer experience management, finance, project management
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills. You need to be able to see patterns, be a fast thinker and a good decision-maker
    • Advanced MS Excel/spreadsheets skills, and mastery of presentation/reporting tools such as MS Word/Google Docs & MS Powerpoint/Google slides
    • Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking), which enable you to communicate complex ideas effectively to people at all levels in the organisation
