    Compliance Officer

    Job Objective

    • Ensuring strict compliance with Regulatory requirements
    • Supervising and ensuring accurate resolution and responses to legal enquiries, shareholder complaints and regulators’ queries are given.
    • Creating and managing responses to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
    • Resolving employee questions and queries about legal compliance

    Responsibilities

    • Providing support to the Chief Compliance Officer in ensuring compliance with all company policies for both internal and external operations.
    • Monitoring rendition of all returns by the Finance, Internal Control and Business
    • Development teams including return monies, tax returns, monthly statements to SEC and half yearly returns to client companies.
    • Monitoring internal policies and recommending necessary policies and policy review in compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Ensuring all correspondences and inquiries from regulatory authorities, and law enforcement agencies, individuals, corporate bodies are attended to in compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Ensuring all fillings/returns (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) in respect of the Company are up to date
    • Liaising with regulatory authorities, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Police to resolve all Compliance-related issues.
    • Rendering of all weekly, quarterly and annual returns to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit and other regulatory authorities including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and CFT (Counter-Terrorism Financing).
    • Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and work with Internal Control to identify and drive corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues.
    • Training employees on compliance requirements towards maintaining a compliance culture within the organisation.
    • Providing support to the internal departments by following up with relevant parties in resolving exceptions raised in Regulatory audits.
    • Ensuring shareholders’ complaints are adequately treated to avoid regulatory sanctions.
    • Reviewing all litigation matters to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulatory standards.
    • Drafting and/or reviewing all Agreements to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards

    As Data Protection Officer:

    • Working with the Data Protection Consultant Organization (DPCO) Andersen Tax LP for the conduct of Data Privacy and Protection Audit/annual filing in line with the requirements of the NDPB.
    • Working and developing internal procedures to ensure that the company records no regulatory infractions.
    • Creating general awareness/training on the importance of Data Privacy and Compliance

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B); Barrister at Law (B.L.) Call to the Nigerian Bar
    • Post graduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 8 years work experience and legal/company secretariat experience.
    • Experience in the financial services industry and a Plc. is preferable.
    • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
    • Exceptional understanding of regulatory frameworks and guidelines.

    Investment Manager

    Job Objective

    • Develop and execute treasury strategies and treasury related financial plans that are in line with the company’s business plan
    • Oversee and manage the treasury function (FX, Securities, MM, liquidity, etc.) ensuring compliance with internal limits and regulatory requirements
    • On a quarterly basis, develop and interpret meaningful and appropriate key performance indicators that include both quantitative and qualitative measures on unit performance
    • Lead and manage Funds Transfer Pricing methodology and calculation
    • Recommend necessary changes to the company’s investment policy and work with the Chief Financial Officer and the Managing Director on recommendations to the Board’s Finance and Audit Committee
    • When there are funds surplus to requirements, check the inventory of financial instruments with a view to purchasing instruments compliant with the company’s investment policy
    • Manage regulatory financial reporting related to treasury, including liquidity
    • Prepare the weekly and monthly investment portfolio performance report ensuring cash and investment activities are in line with corporate objectives.
    • Recommend and purchase short-, medium-term or long-term money market instruments in accordance with the company’s investment policy
    • Certifies, and issues in a timely manner, the monthly Analysis of Investment Income, comparing actual versus projections and explaining variances, ensuring projections align with actual performance, complete with an analysis of where the cash is invested, the rate of return earned as compared to benchmarks (i.e., 90-day treasury), and the weighted average return on the portfolio
    • Monitor relevant market and/or regulatory trends that may impact on the company’s and develop solutions or strategies to mitigate potential risk

    Work Experience & Education Requirement

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of senior Treasury/Investment banking experience
    • A track record of strong analytical and decision-making skills,
    • Experience in Derivatives (i.e. Interest rate swaps, Forwards)
    • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced Excel skills

    Head, Risk, System & Internal Control Department

    Job Objective

    • To ensure adequate control on IT operational processes, monitor and control access to information assets, to ensure adequate controls and prevent unintentional and intentional errors in financial reporting, processes and business operations.
    • To identify, measure, manage and report risks.
    • Helping to develop processes to better evaluate business-specific risk monitoring important as well as critical risk issues.
    • Conducting risk and compliance assessments.

    Responsibilities

    • Compile Database Access control requirements, procedures, and monitoring compliance with them.
    • Support Internal Auditors, Internal Control and Financial Control Team with theirdaily review on Accounts/Transactions.
    • Create Schedule Jobs for monitoring GRDS’s daily processes using Oracle and ACL.
    • Develop Scripts/SQL queries for generating EOD/EOM/EOY reports.
    • Application Testing, API Testing (Swagger, Postman, Azure Microservices etc.)
    • Daily Application Server checks for unapproved Changes and its potential impact on security, capacity, release management and service continuity plans.
    • Ensuring that controls are implemented to mitigate market, credit, operational and other variants of risk that the institution may be exposed to.
    • Coordinate with business units to implement controls considered adequate to mitigate risk.
    • Coordinate with business units in the implementation of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and preparation of a risk register that covers all risks that the institution is exposed to.
    • Follow up with the business units on outstanding action items regarding controls noted during the RCSA and in the risk register.
    • Monitor key risk indicators for all business units and prepare quarterly report. 
    • Establish procedures for timely identification of emerging risks that may affect the business.
    • Be part of the process for internal control reviews across the business units, operations units and branches.
    • Actively seek standardization and automation, apply and implement best practices for managing systems controls and deploy innovative technology where possible to enhance and continuously improve the design and operating effectiveness of the controls, documentation assessment and review procedures.
    • Actively engage with external consultants during Enterprise-Wide Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing VAPT and other IT audit engagements.
    • Performing risk assessment: Analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company.
    • Ensure that controls that meet business requirements are embedded at all levels of System Development/Acquisition Life Cycle (SDLC).
    • Ensure that changes within the organization are controlled to meet the business requirements of the organization.
    • Ensure segregation of duties in all business systems and IT infrastructure by enforcing maker checker controls for greater accountability.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with various departments within the organization to formulate, implement and disseminate company-wide policies and standards ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets.
    • Any other duties as required by the Head, Risk and Internal Control.

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Minimum of B.Sc. from a recognized university (MBA or MSc will be an added advantage).
    • A minimum of ten (10) years cognate experience in the financial industry (work experience in the Capital Market is an added advantage).
    • A recognized professional certification in Accounting and Internal Auditing such as ICAN, ACCA, ISACA & CISA.
    • Experience in a management role.
    • Exposure to complexities in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and finance business processes.
    • Analytical with auditing and investigation skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong policy and regulatory interpretation skills and implementation capability
    • Attentiveness to details.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.
