    Asset Integrity Engineer

    What role you will play in our team

    Responsible for integrity management for assigned assets (focus on corrosion prevention, inspection, monitoring, control and high-level structural engineering evaluations). 

    Engage Operations and provide integrity surveillance and management support. Primary equipment includes piping, pressure vessels, structures, foundations and subsea.

    In addition to technical ability, the individual should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

    What you will do

    • Develop and implement integrity activities that include inspection and corrosion monitoring and control on assigned operating facilities to ensure that these facilities are safe for operation and prevent premature failure. 
    • Conduct pro-active corrosion engineering surveillance activities. Routine surveillance of field integrity performance (internal & external corrosion) for piping, pressure vessels, structures, pipeline & marine equipment, and identify opportunities to enhance existing facilities. 
    • Analyze inspection results and conduct fitness for service assessment to ensure integrity of the equipment e.g. piping, vessels, pipeline, and risers. Ensure own recommendations for remedial actions are technically sound and cost effective. Ensure that all recommendations are followed through to completion.
    • Integrate information between corrosion monitoring, prevention, detection to identify and assess potential threats 
    • Develop prioritized seriatim listing of integrity issues for both shutdown and non-shutdown related deficiencies for effective work planning 
    • Provide support on implementation of Facility Integrity Management System (FIMS) relating to equipment inspections and corrosion management. Work with program owners to develop annual inspection plans for assigned assets; develop KPIs and monitor implementation. Develop and share periodic reports on asset integrity status with asset level team.
    • Perform other corrosion engineering functions, such as failure analyses, materials engineering and metallurgy studies, integrity chemical optimization, cathodic protection engineering and corrosion protection coating evaluations. Able to lead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis as required
    • Provide technical advice to other MPN functional groups on materials engineering, inspection, failure analysis, welding and non-destructive testing 
    • Evaluate changes proposed by the operations team and perform associated Management of Change to manage any associated risk appropriately. Ensure risk prioritization and execution of identified mechanical integrity deficiencies.
    • Monitor regulatory compliance issues related to riser, pipeline and pressure vessel inspections for asset 
    • Work independently on a wide range of facilities issues, including ability to research relevant technology and previous experience of others and apply these to problem solving 
    • Ensures timely recognition, screening and communication of SHE risk and Reliability threats associated with equipment integrity i.e. piping vessels, pipeline, risers. Able to lead or participate in risk assessments as required.
    • Develop and coordinate implementation of integrated risk based and cost effective integrity management or repair solutions
    • Provide periodic updates to asset management on overall asset integrity status and stewardship
    • Provide first line support for structural integrity assessments (member structural capacity evaluations for increased loading, structural modifications, etc.) and provide support for advanced level assessments where 
      required
    • Work with all other integrity sub teams – corrosion prevention, inspections, coatings/repairs to come up integrated solutions to mitigate corrosion issues

    • Closely related professional experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience
    • Broad knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria

    Wells Engineer

    What role you will play in our team

    The successful candidate will support drillwell opportunity generation and maturation - work program planning and execution covering drilling, completions, and workover scopes.

    What you will do

    • Ensuring the application of the best available economical technology in drilling, completions, and workover operations.
    • Preparing well cost estimates, equipment selection and application, program execution surveillance, improvement of daily progress and follow-up assessments.

    Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical Engineer

    What role you will play in our team

    Responsible for providing design engineering support (conceptual studies; FEED; detailed design; brownfield verifications; review and update of specifications; engineering surveillance; specialized studies /assessments; risk assessments, design reviews, constructability reviews, etc.) in the Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical Engineering discipline to assigned project teams. Interphase with Operations and provide discipline engineering expertise to support maintenance and operations activities. Implement engineering surveillance programs to ensure that all relevant aspects of the quality assurance and control (QA/QC) programs and procedures are strictly followed in the performance of all work. 

    The role will also be responsible for managing the health of Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical equipment in an operating asset and providing routine update to asset leadership on health status, exposures, and mitigation plans. This includes the application of technical guidance documents and best practices to specify cost-efficient, fit-for-risk maintenance and inspection programs, coordinating the execution of maintenance /inspection programs, leading troubleshooting of equipment technical issues, reviewing program execution data and implementing learnings on a continuous improvement basis

    What you will do

    • Participate in and provides discipline engineering expertise during conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design of assigned projects.
    • Participate in brownfield verifications; review and update of specifications; engineering surveillance (QA/QC); specialized studies /assessments; risk assessments, design reviews, constructability reviews, etc.
    • Work with Lead Design Engineer and/or Project Engineer to define design objectives to align contractor and design team activities to meet project goals.
    • Apply sound technical and engineering knowledge and best practices to project teams in compliance with approved Company standards and specifications. Prepares documents required to incorporate changes or deviations to design practices and standards, and the project design basis per Projects' change management procedures, logs each proposed change / deviation and coordinates the review and approval. 
    • Directly accountable for the quality of the design product within the Instrumentation, Controls, & Electrical Engineering discipline. Monitor design consultant’s engineering work quality. Ensure design consultants are familiar with, and utilize Company approved standards, specifications, and practices. Reviews design packages from inception to start-up per Company specification requirements. Participates in project milestone drawing reviews, hazard  assessments (HAZOP's, etc.), design assessments, constructability reviews, etc. 
    • Steward development of contractor's design review packages, coordinates the meetings, stewards review of ICE discipline deliverables, and ensures that responses to the contractor is coordinated and clearly communicated then appropriately stewarded through close-out. 
    • Define requirements, evaluates alternatives, and recommends solutions for technical issues within his discipline area.
    • Contribute to development and reviews of design philosophies with other discipline engineers and subject matter experts. 
    • Identify, define, obtain endorsement, and recommend the application of new technologies for specific designs. 
    • Interphase cross-functionally to provide a multidisciplined approach to project design. Provide technical support for engineering services acquisition, including development of the Job Specification, Request for Services, technical / commercial evaluation, and award. 
    • Responsible for design phase coordination / management and formally accepts design drawings and documentation, maintains project design files, and tracks technical issues / deviations until resolved. Ensures the design consultant meets all technical and non-technical contractual obligations and provides relevant results to the PT. Monitors contractor's cost / progress performance and takes corrective action when required.
    • Reviews design drawings and technical specifications for equipment purchases and participates in kick off meetings.
    • Equipment maintenance and inspection program design, periodic review and driving improvement actions
    • Equipment maintenance and inspection data analysis; driving actions from learnings and insights

    The Process Engineer stewards all phases of process engineering for operations and design activities.     Subsea Engineer

    What role you will play in our team

    The role of the Subsea Engineer covers the following principal areas:

    • Surveillance and flow assurance reporting for subsea facilities Technical support for operations and maintenance of subsea trees, jumpers and manifolds and associated control systems
    • Integrity management (define & support inspections, surveys etc) of subsea facilities to assure safe and reliable operations in compliance with industry practice 
    • Management of subsea equipment and operating spares

    • Knowledgeable of the fundamental different types of subsea controls hardware and software functionality including EPU (comms on power, power and comms), Master Control Station (MCS) (PC, PLC), Topsides Umbilical Termination Assembly (TUTA), Subsea Control Module (SCM), Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) (direct hydraulic, E-H MUX), umbilicals, flying leads, instrumentation etc. and basic requirements
    • Familiar with operation of typical subsea system including general layout and process flow, chemical distribution, and control philosophy including safety systems. 
    • Familiar with subsea ROV and diving intervention operations for common failures 
    • Familiar with subsea system terminology, applicable industry and company codes and standards. 
    • Understands the basic subsea equipment installation sequences including functions of running tools, landing string components and Intervention Work over Control System (IWOC's)

    Loss Prevention and Risk Engineer

    What role you will play in our team

    Provide direct and specific loss prevention / risk engineering support for evaluating threats and opportunities associated with Production Operations (Joint Venture Operations – JVO and Deepwater Operations – DW), Support Operations and the Technical organizations (OT, NPO, Wells etc.). This is provided in a format consistent with the provisions of the Risk Assessment and Management System (RAMS), and adheres to Corporate guidelines, regulatory guidelines and industry standards.

    What you will do

    Provide loss prevention and risk engineering technical leadership and expertise:

    • Deliver Operations Risk Assessment Evaluation, provide Stewardship of mitigation actions and residual risk review for all threats & opportunities. 
    • Coordinate team members and stakeholder reviews in concurrence, in addition to the following expectations:
      • Lead, facilitate, scribe, and participate in workshops for Risk Screening / Risk Assessment / Higher Consequence Scenario Management / SCTA / Safety Case / HAZOP 
      • Coordinate / Perform Loss Prevention Studies (i.e. Consequence Analysis Studies)
      • Prepare and secure approval of Risk Assessment Management Summary reports
      • Review, maintain, track progress, and advise on risk mitigation actions.
      • Review and secure approvals for risk scenario extensions in line with expectations of OIMS 2-1

    Other expectations include:

    • Develop and periodically update Project Risk Assessments which includes hazard identification, risk assessment and loss prevention studies. These are performed during design, construction and start-up phases of projects.
    • Coordinate external interfaces with regulators and Safety Case consultants, ensuring Production Facility Operations Safety Case adhere to Corporate and regulatory requirements, and to ensure adequate safeguards are in place to manage risks to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP)
    • Coordinate internal cross-discipline engagements with other technical organizations, and members of the SHE group, to develop comprehensive multi-disciplinary approaches to safety.
    • Provide process safety technical leadership and support for safety incident classification, investigations, lessons learned application and communication.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science Degree, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. A higher degree in Risk / Safety Engineering would be an added advantage 
    • 5+ years relevant oil & gas industry experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs. Proficiency in consequence assessment modelling tools, like PHAST, would be an added advantage

    Project Controls Engineer

    What role you will play in our team

    The PCE specializes in Cost Engineering and Project Controls. To enable successful competitive outcomes, the PCE is fully integrated within the project teams, working closely with project development and execution resources to deliver industry leading projects. While schedule & cost performance is owned by the project manager; the PCE utilizes discipline knowledge and toolkit to provide key insights to project team and the business through analysis and clear communication and supports the completion of the project per the POS

    What you will do

    • Provide cost estimate input into POS, Right Scope, Gate / funding reviews, execution planning strategies and overall project implementation. 
      • Lead screening, stage 2, stage 3 cost estimate development with project / business team input
      • Drive implementation of benchmarking feedback into project basis
      • Coordinate/facilitate stage 3 scope / cost tracking and timely development of estimate recast to control budget for assigned projects.
    • Steward appropriated cost from early stages through execution and startup including Owner's Cost for assigned project.
      • Provide monthly status/ progress reports and/or forecast updates for assigned projects in coordination with project team input.
      • Track spend and progress, analyse Opportunities & Vulnerabilities areas; recommend corrective actions to project team.
      • Provide cost inputs into contract strategy development, contract administration and implementation. 
      • Provide input to the accounting team for accrual booking consistent with Work In Place and reversal of accrual for booked invoices
      • Invoice Attestation to ensure payment is consistent with value received.
      • Lead end project benchmarking activities / feedback and support reappraisals and actual project cost data feedback.
    • Develop and update cost estimating guidelines.
    • Support JV partner and PSC interfaces – budget/work program preparation, cash calls, performance reviews, etc.
    • Support compliance with business controls policies including support for Project Closeout process (as applicable) Identify, drive, and promote capital efficiency, innovations, and initiatives

    Operations Geologist

    What role you will play in our team

    The Operations Geologist will be responsible for the planning and execution of ExxonMobil’s drill-wells in Nigeria The work assignment consists of specialization in one or more of the following areas: (a) Pore Pressure Prediction and in-situ stress analysis, (b) Site Investigation (shallow Hazard) interpretation, and (c) Geo-steering, Well planning/Designing and Operations Geology support 

    The Operations Geologist is expected to possess a broad range of fundamental geoscience skills and the ability to comprehend and integrate Well and Seismic data, ideas, and skills to solve Operations Geology challenges across Exploration, Development, Production and Research 

    He/She will contribute independently, as well as mentor less experienced colleagues, to ensure drilled wells attain well objectives

    What you will do

    Responsibilities may include but are not limited the below mentioned:

    • Demonstrate Safety leadership and uphold ExxonMobil’s Safety culture ensuring No Spills and the Nobody Gets Hurt, both in the office and if required, on the rig site. 
    • Strong understanding of Integrated Pore Pressure Prediction and Surveillance 
    • Strong understanding of Site Investigation including Shallow Drilling Hazards Evaluation (top-hole prognosis) and riserless drilling geohazards 
    • Well Planning and Surveillance (may include but not limited to): 
      • Coordinate with the Wells organization and the project Petrophysicist in the contract technical evaluation for MWD/LWD, Wireline, and Mud Logging services (Procurement & Tendering) 
      • Evaluate technical services and compile cost estimates for Wellsite Geology, Wellsite Biostratigraphy, Core Handling/Preservation and Analysis, and Wellsite Data management services as needed 
      • Compile and document Well Objectives, Formation Evaluation plan, operations & communication protocols, and data/sample distribution into a Geological Program
      • Compile well and evaluation plan information in support of Company Regulatory groups (Regulatory) 
      • Participate/lead regular coordination and planning meetings with the Wells and Geoscience Teams 
      • Facilitate and communicate with Wells Engineers and project geologists to produce a well plan and casing design which will enable complete evaluation of geologic objectives, while maintaining an economic and cost-effective solution 
      • Supervision, logistical and technical support of Wellsite Geologic personnel (Wellsite Geologists, Service Company personnel) in order to gather complete, high quality geologic data sets as specified. 
      • QC and local loading, storage, and archival of all relevant electronic and physical data using systematic file naming and organization. 
      • Capture lessons learned for future operational improvements
    • Assist, if necessary, in wellsite-based activities, including selection of casing seats, geosteering, wireline logging, coring and formation testing programs.
    • Review and analysis of geologic evaluation programs and service company performance on a well by well or monthly/quarterly basis to identify and address areas with room for improvement.
    • Compile and distribute final well reports, logs, and supporting documents to all parties in a timely fashion.
    • Present technical work to Subsurface and Wells teams including but not limited to TD protocol reviews, pre-spud meetings and after-action reviews

    About you

    The ideal candidate must possess the following requirements:

    • Ph.D. or Masters degree in Geoscience (Geology or Geophysics) and a Bachelors degree with a minimum of second class upper in Geology, Geophysics or Physics
    • Minimum of three (3) continuous years of relevant industry experience
    • NYSC discharge or exemption certificate

    Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:

    Candidate should be competent in at least nine (9) skills listed below:

    • Fluent in both written and spoken English, have good organizational and coordination skills, and be able to work well with others
    • Open to Flexible work hours
    • Experience as an Operations Geologist
    • Offshore and Deep Water (Barge, Jackup, MODU) drilling experience
    • Offshore experience including platform/deviated well drilling with associated technologies (e.g. LWD, WL)
    • Experience with mud logging; cuttings description; real-time image logs; and correlating them to determine lithology and well path.
    • Experience with basic FE interpretation for identifying rock type, fluid type, borehole conditions, etc.
    • Experience utilizing azimuthal ultra-deep resistivity (AUDR) for geosteering deepwater highly directional/deviated wells
    • Experience with MPD drilling practices
    • Experience with production drilling environments and challenges, i.e. depleted sand, wellbore stability, fluid type uncertainty and etc.
    • Experience with directional drilling, well planning, depth control measurements; and understanding of BHA's (Bottom Hole Assembly)
    • Experience with coring operations
    • Integrated Pore Pressure prediction
    • Shallow Drilling Hazards Evaluation or Geohazards Assessment
