    Unit Head, Low Voltage

    Job Summary:

    • Responsible for strategies to ensure the availability, reliability, optimal, and safe operating condition of the low voltage assets in Egbin Power Plc.
    • Responsible for preventive, and corrective maintenance of the Low Voltage Motors, switchgear, and 
      Motorised Valves (MOVs).
    • Responsible for RCAs and implementation of CAPA recommendations to ensure asset reliability and 
      continuous improvement in the LV asset group.
    • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive greasing schedule for the LV motors.
    • Responsible for implementing PM and Condition Monitoring schedules on all LV motors, MOVs, and LV 
      switchgear.
    • Cascade departmental maintenance objective in assigned asset groups.
    • Perform annual Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to close the identified skills gap in direct reports.
    • Material and human resources manager of the Low Voltage unit.

    Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.
    • A postgraduate degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage. 
    • Must be registered with NSE for bachelor’s degree holders and NATE for HND holders. 
    • Should be COREN registered. 
    • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience with five (5) in a managerial or senior engineer role.

    Electrical Engineer

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure all preventive maintenance (especially the Electrical Protection System) is executed as assigned daily.
    • Execute breakdown/corrective maintenance as assigned daily.
    • Ensure the summary of breakdown/corrective maintenance activities is reported on the Enterprise Asset Management System daily as assigned.
    • Ensure that all protective circuits function as required, 
    • Responsible for the calibration, testing and installation of protection systems.
    • Compilation of breakdown and corrective maintenance reports and ensure they are submitted at the stipulated time.
    • Compilation of monthly sectional reports and ensure they are submitted at the stipulated time.
    • Monitor and oversee all jobs executed by third parties to the company to ensure timely close out, quality and within the scope of work.
    • Awareness, understanding and application of Quality & HSE policies on assigned jobs
    • Awareness, understanding and application of departmental /process objectives;
    • Awareness of your contribution to the effectiveness of the IMS, including the benefits of improved performance;
    • Awareness of the risks of not conforming with the EGBIN IMS requirements.
    • Ensure safety guidelines and safe work procedures are strictly adhered to on and off maintenance activities.
    • Understand and ensure compliance with all company codes of conduct.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Engineers/Lead Engineers and Section Head.

    Key Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
    • A postgraduate degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
    • Membership in Professional bodies would be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Knowledge of maintenance and operating procedures of motors, switchgear, transformers, generators
    • Understand the principle of electrical equipment and the history of equipment.
    • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and maintenance work instructions.
    • Technical troubleshooting and ability to identify the root cause of problems to avoid recurrence
    • Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects of power generation
    • Knowledge of the power generation process, commercial, and tariff aspects
    • Knowledge of modern maintenance management practices and spare inventory management
    • Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment.
    • Ability to write a technical report.

    Electrical Maintenance Technician

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure all plant patrols of all Electrical equipment are executed as assigned daily.
    • Execute routine/preventive/breakdown/corrective maintenance as assigned daily.
    • Ensure the summary of routine/preventive/breakdown/corrective maintenance activities is reported on CMMS daily as assigned.
    • Responsible for the practical training of trainees on electrical equipment at water treatment plants, water wells, low voltage circuit breakers electric motors and electrical equipment in general.
    • Monitor and oversee all jobs executed by third parties to the company to ensure timely close out, quality and within the scope of work.
    • Ensure safety guidelines and safe work procedures are strictly adhered to on and off maintenance activities.
    • Awareness, understanding and application of Quality & HSE policies on assigned jobs
    • Awareness, understanding and application of departmental /process objectives;
    • Awareness of your contribution to the effectiveness of the IMS, including the benefits of improved performance;
    • Awareness of the risks of not conforming with the EGBIN IMS requirements.
    • Understand and ensure compliance with all company codes of conduct.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Technicians/Senior Engineers/Lead Engineers and Section Head.

    Education and Work Experience

    Requirement

    • Minimum of OND or its equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
    • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Technical knowledge of all electrical systems
    • Basic knowledge of the working principles and maintenance of electrical equipment
    • Basic understanding of operation principles of electrical equipment
    • Basic knowledge of various electrical tests on electrical equipment 
    • Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects
    • Monitor spare inventory management for electrical equipment
    • Basic knowledge of electrical codes and standards

    Unit Head High/Medium Voltage

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensures all maintenance activities on high/medium voltage equipment are as planned, executed and properly documented.
    • Ensures all condition monitoring reports are planned and executed. 
    • Advise the H.O.D and Section Head for onward transmission of issues found during maintenance activities to escalate to the Head of Maintenance for prompt action. 
    • Periodically assess all staff under him for training needs for optimal performance. 
    • Ensures availability of materials and tools required for the job.
    • Ensures strict compliance with all safety requirements during and off the job.
    • Review the reports of technical evaluation prepared by the reporting line.
    • Develop plant patrol and monitoring check sheets and review them periodically as necessary. 
    • Ensures that daily Plant patrols and monitoring are carried out. 
    • Provide support in spare parts planning, purchase and inspection activities. 
    • Monitor and ensure that the Team Leads close out assigned jobs on IBM Maximo.
    • Adequately coordinate the activities of the Team Leads across all assets
    • Ensures monthly reports are prepared, reviewed and submitted within a stipulated period. 
    • Reviews periodically all preventive maintenance plans.
    • Conduct performance reviews of line reports.
    • Coordinate the activities of the Team leads to ensure all Electrical functions are executed.
    • Awareness, understanding and application of Quality & HSE policies on assigned jobs.
    • Awareness, understanding and application of departmental /process objectives.
    • Awareness of your contribution to the effectiveness of the IMS, including the benefits of improved performance;
    • Awareness of the risks of not conforming to the EGBIN IMS requirements.
    • Notify the Section Head of any imminent risk and advise of mitigating factors.
    • Ensures monthly sectional learning sessions are planned and executed.
    • Advise the Head of a section about issues bordering on preventive maintenance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Section Head & H.O.D.

    Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering 
    • A postgraduate degree or relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.

    • Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical engineering practices.
    • Prepare a budget for electrical maintenance.
    • Knowledge and application of electrical codes and standards.
    • Basic Knowledge of other related engineering fields.
