We are seeking for a qualified candidate to join our team of professionals in a high profile Laboratory located in Port Harcourt.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Candidates must possess a minimum of M.sc degree in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Microbiology or Science Laboratory Technology. Must have, at least, five years of relevant experience in Management position. Possession of a professional certificate will be an added advantage. 

THE PERSON

Candidates must be resourceful and creative. Must have very good interpersonal and writing skills and must be prepared to work under pressure. He/She must have sound knowledge of Analytical processes for Environmental samples and must be conversant with various Standard Analytical methods. Must be proficient in the use of computer

SUMMARY OF JOB PROFILE

• Be experienced with conducting Environmental field activities.
• Be very conversant with the use of core Laboratory equipment e.g GCMS, GC-FID, ICP, AAS, Infracal and handheld meters.
• Participate in all HSE activities.
• Be responsible for calibration of meters and equipment
• Maintain current knowledge of advances in laboratory technology including all the regulations thereto.
• Provide technical support for the laboratory personnel.

• Be responsible for reviewing test results to ensure quality control and accuracy of analytical requirements.
• Develop and maintain appropriate control and quality assurance procedures; ensure compliance with current safety requirements. 
• Monitor all laboratory activities to ensure adherence to approved Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Participate in short, medium and long range planning and budgeting processes; project personnel and equipment needs; develop and monitor the laboratory budget.
• Maintain current knowledge of advances in laboratory technology including all the regulations thereto.
• Provide technical support for the laboratory personnel.
